Ok, before we get started, I want to say that I am creating this thread as I have only read threads about people asking if you should drop out of college to go with IM.
This is my story and I appreciate your comments
Lets start by Oct-Nov last year.
I was the average dude trying to learn SEO and jow to rank my sites and by this time I already decided I was going to go for IM to try and make shittons of money for the sake to start developing my projects. Time passed by and failed almost all my classes as I was into IM. Though thinks didnt go my way I really thought that if I were to have 100% my time in IM I could achieve great success.
So after the semester ended, I talked to my parents about giving me a chance to go 100% on IM this semester but as they didnt believe (and they still dont) that you can make big money with IM they actually gave me the opportunity to actually PROOF them that IM doesnt work and that is a scam. Though I have really worked my ass trying to proof them that IM is really a big opportnuity, my results so far have "PROOFED" them that IM is just a random scam...
Anyway, I started this semester thinking that all my efforts would bare fruit and I was really watching myself achieve success as many others, but it has been really discouraged as I am only a few weeks of this semester ending and I havent even had my first $100 month noreven my first $1k with SEO...
One thing that may be a huge influence in my performance are resources/money. One thing I have learned so far is that money makes money but if you dont have money you are just doomed to do everything yourself in the hopes that it goes your way. I started this semester with $60 in paypal and some poker money I had (which I had to withdraw for an emergency). As my pocket is empty, I HAD to think of the best way to use those $60 to try and make money. As I cant count with my parents to lend me some money as they really think IM is just a scam, I had to deal with this myself, which of course was the main plan.
Resources and money are so important that the absence of them almost broke me down when I knew I was done for as I really thought I would only last a couple of months. You see, in February I was really afraid of going broke and have no money to spend on IM (which I call my IM bankroll) which deppressed me a lot, but suddenly I found myself with 2 sales from this 2009 blog, which literally saved my IM journey and gave me a new ray of hope.
Returning a few months earlier, in December, I wrote a plan in my notebook about what I was going to do in IM to make things work. In January I followed the plan to the letter, which was to create 4-5 sites in this semester and trying to rank them all. Obviously by March I found out that I didnt have enougb resources to rank them all and that I was going nowhere, so i decided to tqlk to a few people and the BEST lesson I have learned so far is to stick to one site if you dont have that many resources, which at the time made me both, angry and happyas I learned a new lesson but it was TRULY simple. I really think that if I had started this semester with this lesson in mind, I woukdnt have wasted time setting up these 2 other sites I created that are nowhere in serps. (Yes, for every site I did everything myself, the graphics, the content, the kw research, the offers research, and competition research).
Fast forwarding to April and May, as I learned that lesson, I worked on the site I had in December trying to push it to page 1, but obviously, things didnt go my way and this site, my only ranked site, is in page 2-4 for most kws and getting around 70 UVs a day, which is very low...
This semsster was full of hope, and I worked the best I could but I really think that my main influence of not achieving my goals is money. I am still not at $10 a day but one thing I am 100% sure about is that I am willing to work to be successful.
I am not sure what is going to happen to my IM journey, not even sure if I will ever get to $100 a day with IM but I really hope things get better for everyone...
Anyway guys, thus is what I wanted to share with you guys.
My story on how I dropped college for a semester to go 100% IM.
Moral of the story? NEVER drop out of college if you are not earning decent money. I dropped out for one semester with $60 in my paypal account, a plan and shitloads of motivation to make things work but things haven't gone my way.
If you are thinking in dropping out of college to persuit IM, I deeply suggest you do it once you are earning and you know how to scale things up, otherwise, keep going until you can say things are working for you and by dropping out you would be able to scale things to the sky.
This is my story guys. I dont remember anyone posting a story where the OP dropped from uni/college but I think you will find quite a lesson here.
Anyway, I am open to any comments, suggestions and opinions.
Be happy!
