Ok, before we get started, I want to say that I am creating this thread as I have only read threads about people asking if you should drop out of college to go with IM.

This is my story and I appreciate your comments :)

Lets start by Oct-Nov last year.

I was the average dude trying to learn SEO and jow to rank my sites and by this time I already decided I was going to go for IM to try and make shittons of money for the sake to start developing my projects. Time passed by and failed almost all my classes as I was into IM. Though thinks didnt go my way I really thought that if I were to have 100% my time in IM I could achieve great success.

So after the semester ended, I talked to my parents about giving me a chance to go 100% on IM this semester but as they didnt believe (and they still dont) that you can make big money with IM they actually gave me the opportunity to actually PROOF them that IM doesnt work and that is a scam. Though I have really worked my ass trying to proof them that IM is really a big opportnuity, my results so far have "PROOFED" them that IM is just a random scam...

Anyway, I started this semester thinking that all my efforts would bare fruit and I was really watching myself achieve success as many others, but it has been really discouraged as I am only a few weeks of this semester ending and I havent even had my first $100 month noreven my first $1k with SEO...

One thing that may be a huge influence in my performance are resources/money. One thing I have learned so far is that money makes money but if you dont have money you are just doomed to do everything yourself in the hopes that it goes your way. I started this semester with $60 in paypal and some poker money I had (which I had to withdraw for an emergency). As my pocket is empty, I HAD to think of the best way to use those $60 to try and make money. As I cant count with my parents to lend me some money as they really think IM is just a scam, I had to deal with this myself, which of course was the main plan.

Resources and money are so important that the absence of them almost broke me down when I knew I was done for as I really thought I would only last a couple of months. You see, in February I was really afraid of going broke and have no money to spend on IM (which I call my IM bankroll) which deppressed me a lot, but suddenly I found myself with 2 sales from this 2009 blog, which literally saved my IM journey and gave me a new ray of hope.

Returning a few months earlier, in December, I wrote a plan in my notebook about what I was going to do in IM to make things work. In January I followed the plan to the letter, which was to create 4-5 sites in this semester and trying to rank them all. Obviously by March I found out that I didnt have enougb resources to rank them all and that I was going nowhere, so i decided to tqlk to a few people and the BEST lesson I have learned so far is to stick to one site if you dont have that many resources, which at the time made me both, angry and happyas I learned a new lesson but it was TRULY simple. I really think that if I had started this semester with this lesson in mind, I woukdnt have wasted time setting up these 2 other sites I created that are nowhere in serps. (Yes, for every site I did everything myself, the graphics, the content, the kw research, the offers research, and competition research).

Fast forwarding to April and May, as I learned that lesson, I worked on the site I had in December trying to push it to page 1, but obviously, things didnt go my way and this site, my only ranked site, is in page 2-4 for most kws and getting around 70 UVs a day, which is very low...

This semsster was full of hope, and I worked the best I could but I really think that my main influence of not achieving my goals is money. I am still not at $10 a day but one thing I am 100% sure about is that I am willing to work to be successful.

I am not sure what is going to happen to my IM journey, not even sure if I will ever get to $100 a day with IM but I really hope things get better for everyone...

Anyway guys, thus is what I wanted to share with you guys.

My story on how I dropped college for a semester to go 100% IM.

Moral of the story? NEVER drop out of college if you are not earning decent money. I dropped out for one semester with $60 in my paypal account, a plan and shitloads of motivation to make things work but things haven't gone my way.

If you are thinking in dropping out of college to persuit IM, I deeply suggest you do it once you are earning and you know how to scale things up, otherwise, keep going until you can say things are working for you and by dropping out you would be able to scale things to the sky.

This is my story guys. I dont remember anyone posting a story where the OP dropped from uni/college but I think you will find quite a lesson here.

Anyway, I am open to any comments, suggestions and opinions.

Be happy! :)

Money are good only if you know what to do with them. I remember you had a thread on a basic question, you have to read and learn more before you start anything.

You're here from 2011 with almost 3k posts what in the world you're writing about? I didn't had time to talk with anyone in my first years man... Invest more time reading, testing and working.

Go back to school and work IM part-time. Jump full-time as the revenue gets there. I know anytime I tried to force the issue it never ended well. We all think of life as all or nothing but frankly for most of us it's about grinding it our from day to day. As you keep at it then the opportunities arise.

No offence, but weren't you the guy who ratted another black hatter?
Wait, alright, you didn't like him doing black hat stuff:

But now you? (Keeping in short PPI is almost the same stuff).

Piece. Thanks.

Instead of making 3k posts here if you would have made 500 posts on a personal blog in ANY niche in a year you would have made decent money I think.

Exactly thats the plan all along, thats why i only dropped for a semester.

Before taking this semester off, i was planning on getting back to school whether or not i succeeded in IM.

guys stop flamin the guy just encourage him good luck man and dont give and there is her ways to make money besides seo spammin the shit our of sites per example that will make u some quick money to invest on long term stuff (seo) which makes money but it takes longer spam u see yr money same day good luck again

Freelancing.
It is easier to get decent income and quicker than IM. Currently, i work 10-15 days per month as a freelancer(earning in the low thousands) and the rest of the time i invest in IM.

If you don't have any skill set like programming or designing, you will fail in freelancing too.

Something that I havent said to anyone is that I have been working on a site which domain is 2 years old. I have posted around 200-300 articles there without any seo nor anything like that, just for the sake of getting articles up. Thing is i havent tried to rank that site at all, but i guess i shoumd be getting some pennies from it lol

How in the world is that related to the thread?!

Though, I also remember how you scammed me for $30 some months ago for a translation task. Obv i opened a shitlist thread ans you paid me...

I just shared my story, nothing else pal.

Your problem is focus. Believe me, if you focus on ONE thing then you will surely succeed. Even if it makes pennies, keep grinding to scale it to convert into $$$. If you juggle between more than 1 or projects then its quite easy to get diverted(Talking from personal experience). Only move to the next one when the previous project is either automated or doesn't require much attention.

Good educational thread, OP. You'll take a little heat in here, and rightly so, but this is good for almost everyone as most of us can pick up something from this.

I remember a couple of years back, well 30 or so, and I moved 1,000 miles to pursue a particular job offer. The thinking was that if I failed, no big deal since I was young and if I failed I could always recover.

Don't take the criticism too hard, OP, just learn from it.

All I can say is , write down your goal and work hard every single day to meet that goal. (Short term/Long term)

lmao I don't even have you on skype. +PMed you to remind me it.

I just pmed you back with skype images. You "don't have me on Skype" as I blocked you since then... THough I just unblocked you.

Exactly that pal, I explained it in the post above :)

Sure man.

Believe me when I say I opened this thread to get feedback and that someone hopefully can learn something from this :)

NEVER go 100% IM unless you are earning decently and you know how to scale things up, until that point in time, just keep grinding.

I can tell you right now... If you had $6000 in your paypal and not $60, you would have lost $6000 when you started and not $60... so you are better off now.

One thing in IM is you need to have success before you spend money on it. For me, how I look at something.

I spend a month on a project; if it does not work out, and I do not see a good amount of success, I stop and move on. I usually spend between $500 and $1000 when I set up a site. And I know full well that in a months time, that money can be gone, and I am not getting it back.. The only reason I spend this much on a new project is because I can afford to use the money I get from my successful ones to try new things.

I would say a good 70% of the projects I start end up as complete failures. 20% end up making their money back, and earning small amounts afterwards, and maybe 10% end up working well.

IM is a very hit and miss game.

BTW, i have been doing IM part time for 3 years through highschool and university. Even though I am earning a decent amount I would never consider dropping out, because unlike a university degree, IM does not last forever, and no IM investment is safe. I usually go full time during the summer, and part time during the year.

Also. I started my IM journy with $0 in paypal. I watched youtube videos until I learn HTML, and PHP. Then I started one website as a traffic exchange. I thought that site would make me rich, as I started earning over $600 a month from it. One day youtube chanced how they counted views, and I went from $600 a month to maybe $10.

After that I started a couple of other websites, from which I still earn (from ads, not from selling services). Out of the sites I started, around 50% of the money makes were killed off by google updates.

Long story short. IM is a bitch. She is a nice bitch to some, but a killer to others. You cannot give up, and you need to take a hint sometimes when stuff is not working.

Hope that story helps you.
