i am getting frustrated that my very old site with very good metrics

    Inner page
    PA 37+
    DA 36
    CF - 34
    TF - 36

My site is not budging ahead from 6th page,
    and
I am seeing a fairly new site
    with
    PA/DA of 20/8
    CF / TF - 14/15

on the First page of Google for the same keyword.

Dont know what to do, or how to fix it

Can anyone help to shed some light so may be able to figure out whats going on

Could be,but am using Yoast, and following its recommendation and have a GREEN colored dot which shows i hav good Onpage for that keyword, i know that is not a definitive way to ensure i have good onpage

So what is your onpage and his?
Did you compare kw density? Does he have unique images with alt tags and kws in url, or do you? Did you post related youtube video in the article?
How long your articles are ? (yours and your comp.)
How long it is since you made this article and how old is his one?
Is he ranking homepage? ( If not how many words are in his url and how many in yours?)

    What about technical SEO?
    • How's your site speed?
    • Is your site coded well?
    • Do you have any response errors on your site?
Another possibility is that those 3rd party metrics you're using are way off. It wouldn't surprise me considering I manage a site for a client that has a DA of 30 that requires a lot more effort to rank than one of my other client's sites that has a DA of 12.

By the way, do you know if the site that's outranking you recently switched to HTTPS? I noticed the DA on a couple of my sites dropped after I switched, although their rankings are still the same.

And how about to go and take a look at his backlink profile instead of relaying on metrics?
It could be that he is hiding PBN.

I just compared KW density, mine was higher, at 8% compared to his at 5% - RECTIFIED that right away - thank you for bringing that up
I had no Video - I added that and added an Image too
Mine is a 1200 word article, his is a 2900 word article -

My article is roughly 1 year old
his article seems to be new

He is not ranking for homepage neither do i

    Thanks for the pointers

Depends on the niche, maybe google wants an updated article after all.
However, don't trust those metrics 100%, as someone previously mentioned it may be a technical problem.
I advise you to check your website speed with Google's "PageSpeed Insights" tool and fix any problem that is shown there. You can also use yahoo's yslow tool for extra help.

Also, how often do you update your website with new article compared to the other site?
Does their site cover a niche that is more relevant to the article than your site is?

You can check the response errors (e.g., 404 page not found) either by using a plugin such as "Broken Link Check" or by using your Google Search Console account.

The HTTPS metric drop for Majestic and Moz is just a theory of mine, although I'm curious to know if that happened to anyone else.

Don't trust completly competitor's metrics, he could hide it. Other option, it could be your signal for big G. on your niche.

i had the case, for Google when a lot of websites push content strategy a website with low metrics who push product can be identified like more relevent and G. push him for example.

Don't trust the metrics, you should check you if you both have the same keyword density, on page. Then check the backlink and anchor text ratio
