So some of my websites was hit by latest Google update targeting EMD website. In fact my domain name is not 100% EMD but it has the keyword on it an most of the only have unique 6 articles. Before the update my website was in 1st page for couple of terms but after the update it was gone to page 20. What you guys should I do? Try to put more content with more keyword and and build some backlinks to them? Or just build a new website on the same niche?

just wait some time if you'r website remain at page 20, then remove some low quality content add new content with proper keyword density. and build powerful links.

No one really knows what's up with this EMD update just yet. Recovery methods are still in the works.

Add more content slowly. Don't worry too much on backlinking right now. If you can find high quality, relevant, contextual links, then go for it. But when you get nailed by an update like the EMD one which is very specific, your site has to have some very good content for Google to eat up in order to regain it's original ranks. Try to keep the keyword density to around 1%.

A lot of people got hit. Focus on quality, not quantity. This is what all these updates are stressing.

Building a new site is not the solution, without knowing the exact reasons why your site moved downwards in ranking
it can be difficult to say your new site will survive another update or even rank on the SERP.

I implore you to do some little analysis and see, you will find lots of EDMs ranking on the SERP
comfortably without any decline in ranking.

Compare them with the ones their ranking remain stable and the ones that were ditched.

I see two basic things when it comes to all the recent Google update.

    1. User-ability
    2. Quality

There seems to be no chance for the little joe anymore.

Instead of having tens of sites i implore people to look on the side of owning
a mega site/company...always be up to date with the current happenings in your niche,
    and SEO as a whole.

You only need to examine the Google webmaster quality guide and every reason for an update Matt gives to see that most sites that remained
unshaken are authority sites.. why can't you own one...

    Think possible webmasters.

That's such crap. My highest quality site took a dump, while my XR spam shitty cloaking black hat sites are on the rise.

    What Google is saying:

Don't spent too much time on stuff, cause we could kill it. Spam, cheat, produce shit you don't care about en masse.

I can attest this, I dropped 10+ spots for all keywords and my site is PR4 with probably 50+ high quality 700 word plus articles etc. Alot of the sites that replaced me were absolute sh1t, and sites that don't do any seo really with less than 50 total back links.
