    hi
I have a site that I intend to eventually rent out.
The site is a lawyer site.

It ranks for [specialty] attorney [city]
so for instance, imagine it's patent attorney San Diego
it gets 500 exact searches. I am #6 on page 1 and getting zero traffic. Does this sound about right?

So my question is, what should my next step be? should I start contacting lawyers even though i am getting no traffic? I would like to rent it on a monthly basis.
How should I contact them? Email or regular mail? regular mail would obviously cost more, but I think would be less likely to be ignored.

I also want to be honest about it so no "fake traffic" ideas...dont want to get sued later on. I am willing to bend the truth a little but not things that i can get sued for.

It is 16/day. For position #6,4-10% CTR is equivalent to 1/day.So,not surprising you ve got no traffic.Though, you should get around 50/month after a month.

    Target #1-3 for the term.

500 exact searches is accutually pretty bad, try to taget higher keywords whit the site to, 500/30 = 16,66666

So 16,66666 searches a day, why should these go to your site?

anything higher is way too competitive and impossible.
actually, for an attorney site, i think 500 is pretty good. for this kind of attorney, one client = thousands of dollars.

The keyword volume is fine IMO. You're getting the expected amount of traffic at #6. Just don't include traffic stats when contacting lawyers and don't contact the five that are ranking above you for your term.

so I just tell them I am #6 and they will pay me? Wouldnt they get mad when they get no extra clients? or they wouldnt know the difference?

#6 isn't good enough for a 500 exact match keyword. Work on bumping it up to top 3 and you're going to start seeing traffic come in. I have a site with 12k exact searches per month ranking #7 and on a good day I'll get only 10 visitors.

If you target 500 exact match keyword then you have to rank on #1. #6 is too bad.

Then it's just a few steps away for #1-3 position especially when it comes to rank local search.

Just add more high quality backlinks and watch the serp movement raising.

I'm #10 on the first page of a specific niche. Getting on the first page means nothing. I really am a firm believer that you have to get in the top three to get some good traffic - that is if people are searching for that term in the first place.

    Hi guys
I was hoping someone could provide some guidance regarding my other questions
    1. should i approach lawyers even though I am getting no traffic? wouldnt they want to see my traffic data? furthermore, wouldnt they get pissed off when they pay me $2000 a month and get no extra clients?
    2. is $2000 a month an ok figure?
    3. email or regular mail?

this is my first time doing this, any other pointers? things to watch out for?

You can't just expect to rank for easy keywords and get front page. Most money is made over hundreds of keywords or by buying Google Adwords campaigns OR by using BHW methods. I think 1 sale a month is all you need, but rather how to get in touch with someone that wants to buy that very area specific service.
