Only one of my sites was hit on Feb 24th but it lost 80% of its traffic and went from like position 12 to being completely out of the index for a highly searched term. Today it is back.

I deleted a lot of thin content that other people had scraped off of my site. I also deleted all my YouTube videos, and made some fresh content with links back to my site in it so when is scraped it might still link back.

Also I just set up pubsubhub and a Twitter auto poster so every time I make a new post it broadcasts it to the stupid Googlebot.

That's just made me laugh man.
'it broadcasts it to the stupid Googlebot' - very apt to what I'm doing today which is investigating indexing.

I know v little about pubsubhub but it is a way of poking the bot in real time when you add new content?

    Thanks for making me laugh

btw- I'm glad your sites back up, I think fresh, regular on site content is making a much bigger change in serps recently

I never heard of pubsubhub until Matt Putz put out a video on Google's web master Youtube channel "How does Google know original content" or some nonsense like that.

Mine was a wordpress site and every time I made a new post I could find it in the Google SERP if I searched for the title in quotes, until it was scraped. Then even though Google indexed me first, like instantaneously, the scraper would appear and my site was completely gone.

I did apply for reconsideration like three times but that was early on and I don't think reconsideration does anything for the Panda penalty. Its a algo penalty so when you fix your site, theoretically, the algo automatically lets you back in.

I did something similar on my autoblog and it regained its rankings.

I simply stopped it autoposting, removed a few crappy posts, added more backlinks and a bit of unique content and it regained its rankings.

Wow nice to finally hear some positive come out of this fiasco! Personally I used to love pandas now I hate them!

Did Google say anything to you or just happened?
