My site has more links then most of the competitors and they still out rank me! What am I doing wrong? I've got hundreds and competitors not even hundred, I know you might said my links are not coming from authority sites but they do and I've got many articles, press release, web2.0 profiles and got backlinks build to them, but still my site aint moving, could someone help me out? Could this be because of the joomla site? My page optimazation is done correctyly as well, thank you!

    Possible reasons

    1. Site age - If it is a brand new site, then it will take some time for you site to outrank them

    2. Domain age - If you are competing with authority sites whose domains are very old, then you need work hard

    3. Backlink indexing - Make sure all your backlinks are indexed in Google.

    4. On site optimization - This is very important. If you are site is not SEO friendly. You can't rank well no matter how many back links you have.

Add your site to Google webmaster tool and check for any errors.

May be your competitors websites have less links but more quality links with higher page rank?

    Maybe because of 2 reasons:

    1) Onsite SEO - you should optimize your website.
    2) Quality of backlinks - you should get high PR backlinks.

I don't think anyone has enough information about your site to give you a single answer that will solve your problem.

I'm guessing your site is brand new. You've built over a hundred links to the site very quickly and then you suddenly stopped sending links. In Google's eyes this would be suspicious behavior. Google will monitor or check back on your site after a few months to see if the links continued to build or did they stop once rankings stopped moving up? Google's history with removing spammers from their engine forces them to put new sites on probation if link building behavior looks like the work of spammers they've seen.

Plus SEO has more than just one element, like the number of backlinks a page has.

Anyway, that was a long winded way of saying we need more information to give a proper answer.

Page loading time is a factor in ranking.

Big G needs some time to get aware of your backlinks. Patience helps a lot. You could try to bookmark some of your BLs to speed this up.

Don't know how long you are busy, but i was busy with a site on some easy keyword. I had in the end 2000 backlinks and they had 100. I just where on the 2page, and never every hit the first page. anyway the factor you are looking for is probably the visit lengths of your website. Mine had 85% left the page within 5 seconds. After optimizing the content to keep them reading, my visit lengths increased to 35% who left within 5 seconds. magically my website increased to number 2. So you have all backlinks for ranking but not good content.

Its probably the domain age, or he has higher quality back links that google won't show people.

It might also be the keyword density.

Have you tried looking at your competitor's comments? If they look like humans, maybe he has better content.

have you done any research to find where your competitors backlinks are coming from? Use a backlink finder and then look through the list of backlinks. If they have some really good ones then try to get your link on those sites as well.

Also, don't get stuck on just building backlinks for seo. Try to build a lot of good backlinks for true site promotion. Those kind of backlinks can get you real traffic.

SEO is only done for the purpose of getting traffic from the SE. Just remember that the SE is just one source of traffic. Work on other sources as well and you should see a lot better results.

Usually if you work on actual site promotion instead of just backlink building, it will have the result of getting better backlinks which will move you up in the SERP as well.
