I have a site targeting a very minor keyword with little competition. After I was indexed by Google, I was in 1st page of SERPS for about a week and a half. I added about 10 ******** links from commenting on blogs, and created an ebay RSS feed for each product in my store. Now my site has fallen off of Google, even though i can search for "mysite.com" and see all of the indexed pages. Almost all of the search results for the keyword don't even include the keyword, so I know I should be higher up, I can't even find my site in the first 100 results now. I used a RSS converter that puts ebay items into my pages as HTML. Could that have gotten me removed?

How old is your site? How long had you been working on it before it fell off google.

Building 10 links is not going to get you done for spam, it's just not enough, so I don't think it's that.

My site has 3000 links, it took it 3 months to hit page 1 (competitve), stayed for 3 days, now its back down in google hell.

My advice on the info you've given me - keep going. Sites do come back from the dead after this stuff happens.

Just give it some time and your site will probably reappear. New sites often do exactly what you are describing. It is frustrating but part of the game.

Just keep building more backlinks - You will come back from the dead. I recently had a new site reach the number 3 spot then fall of after building a few links, I just kept building like nothing happened and it came back within 12 hours. Remember if a site is really popular it will still get natural links even if its not listed for a particular keyword.

You shouldnt have to worry about it. I had the same thing happen for a new website. Top ranking, then it disappeared. It ended up re-appearing a couple weeks later

a website always enters the serps high. to fall down after some tim, and reapear in the spot it should have been all along.

i don`t know why, but google does it this way.
happened to just about every site i ever made.

On average, how long might a new site spend in the sandbox? (sandobx = was ranking high, then disappeared from serps - but still indexed)

I'm approaching the 3 week mark, getting nervous. It's all well and good to say keep building links, but what if I keep building for 6 months and it never comes back...

    All part of the game.

Next time put your website on a safe spot so it doesn't fall off again.

Make updates to your website, and ping it. Google does this all the time to new sites. I would not stress over it. If you don't see it bounce back in the serp by next week send me a pm.

Sometimes it comes back sometimes it doesnt, all you can do is keep moving.

    The same happened to me.

I created a website on Thursday evening, it was ranking first for the whole weekend. I decided to build lots of backlinks through social networks.....
Today I checked and it was gone..... And it is deindexed...... because I couldnt find it doing the "site:" . The results were just from the backlinks, but not my website itself.

    I guess I'm phucked.......because I was making a killing over the weekend.

I was gathering information from different newspapers, and news agencies, and I was quoting it (properly saying the source an all of that) and giving an analysis of it with my own words. Would this get me the boot inmediatly?

To be safe, you need at least 50% original content on your site, but even that is taking a risk.

You don't always get de-indexed though, just a massive penalty so you never show up in serps again.

Oh sh*t! What can i now? Nothing really....so at least I've learned my lesson..... it was really cool while it lasted! hehe

If I was deindexed and I drive shit loads of traffic to the website from other sites (like CS myspace) would I be able to get indexed again by any chance? Or shall I just drop it, realize I screwed it big time and just focus on the next strategy?

In a way, it's a shame you got de-indexed. If it was just a penalty, you could check if you had fallen foul of the dupe content filter by adding "&filter=0" to the end of the google search url. Oh well.

If you're out of the index for a week, start over.

Just to let you know guys, Google is loving my site again.

The same day I posted on this thread telling that my site had dissapeared from Google. I tried to "resubmit" my page on to Google engine using the google webmaster tools.

I was totally open with them and said that I though the cause of being deindexed was creating shit loads of traffic by spamming social websites. I told them (and I actually did it) that I had remove my website bookmarks from most of the websites.

I've checked today my analitycs and I've seen a 400% increase on traffic from yesterday, and most of it (around 80%) was organinc google searches. I checked the keywords and I'm back on the top 5.... So I'm really happy! :D

I'm not sure if this happened because of the normal index process (somebody says that normally when a website is indexed for the first time, gets a really high rank, later on dissapears, and a few time later appears again), but I doubt it, as all of this (Being Google top 3 -> Dissapearing from Google -> Being back on the top5) happened in a week. So I guess that google tools for webmaster actually work
