    Hello,

I have a site in dutch. For years I have been ranked very high (mostly 1st rank in google) on good quality keywords.
I've been able to support my wife and 2 kids with it :) It allowed me to work on it and other ideas.

It's a clean online business guide. I haven't done much SEO on it, people typically link to it organically. I just did some on-site optimization and following google's guidelines, providing quality content.

Since the end of August, I've seen a dramatic downfall in traffic and income. I need some white-hat guidance and help from a SEO guru, before I'm forced to go back doing consultancy work.

Any ideas how to go about it? I'm willing to pay for it. I don't want or expect a sudden traffic boost with blackhat techniques, I'd like a steady long-term increase.

I can send the url in pm or so?

    Greetings

I always have a saying, "Don't put all your eggs in one basket."

It is never a good idea to rely on just one source of income online. If you do get you site
back to what it once was, I would suggest to also get some other streamlines started.

Checkout the Market Place section. There are some good SEO pros there. I am sure you
can find someone there that will get your site back on track.

Maybe you have more competitors? Maybe someone has sent you negative seo? Try building some web 2.0's and ranking those. It's much safer to rank web 2.0's so that if they get hit by penguin you can simply remove your link from them and your main site wont be affected.

Check your backlinks on ahrefs or majesticseo. Sounds like one of your competitors has targetted your site with negseo.

From time to time, you need to check your backlink profile. Something fishy is going on, use disavow. May be, it is time to start building some links? Web 2.0s and other?
