Hello guys, I’ve been reading through these threads for the past few months and reading other people’s financial journey’s and I feel like my Shopify store is making enough profit to share my ups and downs and how I got to where I am today. So I made an account to share this with you guys. I started out watching YouTube videos about drop-shipping, I was interested because I had a bit of my student loan to invest and I was looking to build passive income. I felt this was perfect, but little did I know things would go really wrong at first. I started off making a niche store based around tools used to chop fruit and my website was called fruitchoppers.com, and the worst part is I spent around 500 pounds ( roughly 620 dollars ) on Facebook adverts focused on vegetarians and vegans as I thought they would use these tools daily as fruit consumes most of their diet. I was getting around 100 clicks a day with nobody buying the product even though it was FREE with like 4.99 shipping. In a period of a week I got my first sale afternoon spending 900 pounds on Facebook adverts. Even though I was really excited about my first sale, that excitement soon turned to sadness as I saw Facebook draining money out of my PayPal and realising all this was used to sell one item on PayPal. My website was really good as I used a paid theme and used the best tools available on Shopify to create a high conversion store. Sadly the ROI was terrible and I quit Shopify for around a month. I came across a really small Shopify YouTuber in my recommended and this guy didn’t have many views and was giving really different advice to the mainstream guys that got me interested in the first place. The advice they gave was to focus on Facebook ads and managing them properly to ensure you never lose a penny. Basically your ads will never go past a certain ROI and will automatically deactivate if it goes over the ad spend you set it up on. So if your advert getting 1000 clicks and each click is 0.50 that makes it inefficient so Facebook will cap that. It basically gauranteed that your ad is efficient enough to carry on working because the clicks are generating enough ROI. This blew my mind as it was the single most useful video Iv ever come across. The mainstream youtubers I previously watched never ever went into detail like this 1000 subs youtuber so I religiously studied each method he went into detail in. I made my Facebook ads extremely efficient as to where 40 percent of my new stores sales revenue was gross profit excluding Shopify, hurrify fees. At this moment I’ve made 1017 pounds in profit in around two and a half weeks from around 2800 pounds in revenue. I feel confident my store will keep on making profit, although I’ve heard of stores losing momentum, I’m still confident. I would advise staying away from mainstream youtuber advice as that’s general advice, look at smaller youtubers that use more statistics in their advice. I’m in the process of hiring a VA to do everything for me hopefully and finally I will achieve passive income if everything goes correctly. Threads on websites like these also have really good unfiltered advice. Iv currently recouped my losses and on track and I wish anyone reading this well in there Shopify journey !
