My Shopify Dropshipping Journey To $30.000/month with Minimal Investments

Update number 3:

It's Monday, a new week just started, and it is time for some further actions to be taken. But first, let's talk about last week and past actions.

If you remember, key actions for my first week were:

  • Build a store and make a partnership with AliExpress suppliers
  • Create social accounts

Now, I can officially say that both of this actions are completed. They are finished but not exactly how I hoped. I say this because supplier from AliExpress refused to sign a drop-shipping agreement. He told me that there is no need for this agreement to be signed, that he is a reliable supplier, experienced in work with drop-shippers blah, blah... From his response, I can see that he does not want any legal obligation with me and I don't like that at all, it's evident that I can not trust him (despite his excellent rating and feedback score), but anyway I will work with him. I will work with him because he is the best choice for my niche, he has the best ratings and really massive selection of products, and he looks professional. So, we find a compromise - If I manage to sell 100 products in the first three months, we will sign an agreement but with updated conditions (I requested this because I have some plans in my head, I'll talk about this in some of the future posts).
When it comes to social accounts, I created FB page, Instagram account, Twitter account, YT account, and Pinterest account. In the beginning, I'll put FB and IG links on my homepage while Twitter and Pinterest will have to wait some better times (I need to get some followers, because of the social proof and stuff like that). YT will be visible from the same start, too, since I use it for my product videos.

NOW WEEK NUMBER 2:

My key actions for this week will be:

  • Apply for a 2checkout account
  • Optimize store for the first Ad campaign
  • Start growing my IG account
  • Publish my first Ad

Now you are probably wondering what I mean by this "optimize store..." thing. In short lines - I want to make sure everything is ready for conversions BEFORE I SPEND MONEY ON ADS. I want to make sure that my store looks trustworthy, no any typos or other errors in my description, site copy and so on... Do you know that an inconvenient returns policy deters 80% of shoppers? That means I want to double check my return policy. Do you know that 88% of shoppers characterize detailed product content as being extremely important to their purchasing decisions? That means I want to double check my product descriptions, videos, variations, everything. Do you know that 56% of shoppers said that being presented with unexpected costs is the reason they leave without completing their purchase? Do you know that 23% of users will abandon their shopping cart if they have to create a new user account? Do you know that using videos on landing pages can increase conversions by 86%? And so on, and so on... I want to follow this practices, so I can better understand why my customer didn't convert.

I DON'T WANT TO SPEND MONEY ON ADS AND THEN LOSE CUSTOMER BECAUSE I WAS LAZY WITH MY PRODUCT DESCRIPTION OR BECAUSE HE WASN'T ABLE TO FIND MY REFUND POLICY.

I will start growing my IG account this week, but I will not promote any products on my own IG account, at least not for now. Instead, I'll use shoutouts. More about that in the Week 3 because I'll use only FB ads for now.

I hope I'll start my first ad until Friday. That's the plan. Until then - double checking everything :)

For any questions, suggestions or anything - feel free to comment below. See you guys on Thursday!

Any tips bro about applying to 2Checkout
There are no any particular tips for 2checkout. Sometimes they will accept you immediately sometimes they will ask you for additional details, agreements, proofs and so on. But you should always pay attention to copyrighted items - They will never accept you if you sell copyrighted items unless you have signed agreement with the copyright holder.

At the moment, they accept drop-shippers pretty easy so just make sure to look trustworthy, and you will be ok.

hope you all the best mate .

You won't believe me, but I'm really unorganized type of person except when it comes to business. My businesses where always well organized and planned but my life... Oh boy...

Damn, that's a great plan, you're doing so many things and taking care of all the details. Wish you luck!

Wow, your avatar character truly matches your style. I like it. Hope your products work! When will you publish your article on finding a niche? What app are you using for those checklists?

JUST WANTED TO INFORM YOU THAT MY NEXT UPDATE WILL BE POSTED TOMORROW SINCE I DON'T HAVE MUCH FREE TIME NOW.

Sneak peak:

  • I got accepted by 2checkout
  • I'm going to change my marketing plan from paid to free
MORE ABOUT THIS - TOMORROW

I can't wait to see your post tomorrow. I'm curious as to why you changed to a free marketing plan.

Inspiring journey thanks for all the info. Makes me want to follow your lead and try this as well.

It's time for UPDATE NUMBER 4:

As I already wrote yesterday, I got accepted by 2checkout. Easier than expected to be honest - I got approved in 12 hours without any question asked, so that's pretty cool.

Now when I can collect payments, I should start with the promotions. In one of my previous updates, I wrote that I would start with the FB ads, but I changed my mind in the meantime. I changed my mind because this is the journey on how to make profitable Shopify store with MINIMAL INVESTMENT, so I'll try once again to keep my starting costs at the minimum. We will see how this will end up, but the plan is:

1) Find IG influencer who will promote my store for free
2) Earn some money
3) Invest in better influencers, Google Ads, FB Ads, etc.

Remember, until this point, I only spent $1.20 for a domain name.

How I plan to find influencers who will promote my offer for free?

I'll try to find less popular influencers in my niche which does not already get paid for shout-outs. Simple as that. Why would they do that for me? Because they will also be able to earn money if their promotion grant me some sales. Let me explain this in a few steps:

1) I'll find influencers manually, using IG search and hashtags
2) I'll send them a message asking for shoutouts with a bright, promising copy
3) I'll create a tagged URL for all of them so that I can track users they sent to me
4) If any of users convert using their code, I'll give them a percentage of a sale and possibly continue promoting with them (depending on results)

So it's something like an affiliate program just better because it's free for me :)

I'll write more about this in my next update. I should start contacting influencers until Monday, and at that point I'll have some real time screenshots, so it will be easier for you to understand what I actually mean.

It's important to understand that this CAN NOT and WILL NOT give any incredible results to my store. It's an excellent way to start rolling, to get a few sales for free and to move on. But what's even better than those few sales?

I'll get some FREE targeted traffic, and I'll be able to monitor and track my future customers. Customers who are really in my niche and customers who are really interested in my products! I don't need to ask my friends or my wife what they think about my store, how they like it, what they would love to change and so on... They are not interested in my niche, and they are my friends so they will never give me an honest opinion.

Instead, I'll watch real customers who came to my store. For free. It's like I bought 500 site visitors for $0. But 500 targeted visitors who will maybe even spend some money in my store and not just pump my traffic numbers and fuck up my pixels.

I'll be able to see how they navigate through my site, how long they are staying on my homepage and how long on my product page and how long on my checkout page, from where they left my site and so on. I will use all this data to improve my store and to create my sales funnel before I actually spend any money on traffic.

Pretty nice if you ask me.

Hi
Can you please let me know about how to find niche . And drop shipping details .
Why is 2checkout so important to you. You could've just used Paypal Plus for example, then you would also not have needed a dropshipping agreement.
Because I want to stay away from PayPal whenever possible and because I'm from 3rd world country and 2checkout is pretty much only reasonable option :)
when u will make thread about how to find a niche?
Hi, I'll post that niche thread next week, promise. I don't have much time now but I didn't forget that!

Why do you think having an affiliate program won't yield you good results? Imaging having a network of 100+ influencers in your affiliate program promoting your products consistently...

Why do you think having an affiliate program won't yield you good results? Imaging having a network of 100+ influencers in your affiliate program promoting your products consistently...

Because it's hard to get some serious influencers to promote your offers for free, at least when you are completely unknown to them. And because it's not a regular affiliate where they can track their sales. This sales are tracked by Google code in my Analytics and they can not see it, so they will need to believe me when I tell them how many sales generated their link. This can be done with someone who never sold any shoutout before and with someone who has <5000 followers. This guys don't have anything to lose because no one will pay them for shoutout anyway. And when your influencer have 2k or 5k followers you can expect, let's say, around 100 clicks, and that's still to low for some serious results.

And this usually works with small, not so popular niches so it's hard to find 100 influencers. Even if you want to pay them.

Dropshipping is the biggest mess ever. Quickest way to burn a brand.
