I have recently chucked my newest website onto the field just a few days ago, so it's less then a week old. Already ranking page 1 on 3 different search engines for it's main keyword and heaps of variants of it. I am getting around 100UV per day at the moment from the one page, i'll be targeting more keywords later on. I expect to reach at least 1000UV a day hopefully in about 3 months if I play my cards right. So what's the best thing about this? The site has no backlinks at all. Zilch, nada. It's all on-page optimized and I think Google loves it. It's the second time this has happened now, my site going straight to page 1 and staying there for over 2 months now.

I plan on writing more articles over the next couple of months and submitting them to article directories and I will be trying my hand to social media tactics to further drive traffic to my website.

I know this thread dosen't have much content but I'm pretty happy at the moment.

Great job! Keep up the momentum and don't stop.

Keep building links, keep building content, and keep up the keyword research to identify which keywords are best to target for future rankings.

Seems like you've found a working formula :) Now rinse and repeat and scale!

I'm going to use Adsense to monetize it, I'm a bit old fashioned that way. I am waiting 3 weeks to give Google the impression that I didn't just create the site for earnings

@mikie46 There's not much to tell, aslong as you give Google what it wants (quality written content) along with proper keyword density (keep it below 2%) and having your keyword within the title tag and a few H1's.

Personally I think leaving advertisements off the page and just let it gain ranking is the best way, as soon as I put ads on my other site it just stopped gaining ranks. I think the site should have a minimum age before you place ads on it, maybe a month or so.

That's pretty basic stuff mate. I've made plenty of sites that don't get a 1st page ranking right away when I follow those on-page SEO rules. I'd attribute your success more or less to luck (both in your SERP position and your research - you must have stumbled upon a really unknown niche).

Two completely different niches, one being technology and one being birthdays. This new keyword has been ranked "medium" difficulty in traffic travis so it's not exactly an easy keyword to rank for. It definitely is luck but at the moment im gaining some great rankings and it's only getting better.

the second part- social media tactics is the hot thing currently and it could work
the latest smx conference at seattle was all about this .. facebook here facebook there!

if you are logged into facebook and you do a bing search they said you cud see likes and other stuff beside your search results.. ( i havnt personally check this out yet)
but microsoft does have some sort of data access from facebook and hence they can work on that way(but google and facebook are not really on good terms lol )..
so bing goes something like like "
hey! if that many pple like this stuff on facebook then this must be a good page to display on our search results" but this is just one of the many things they take into consideration , but does have its value :)

the first part- article directories.. they dont really do the magic like before..(atleast i think so) because most of the big content farms lost traffic big time in the last google algorithm updates.. you hardly see anythin from ezine articles unlike before. so i am not sure how effective article directories are.. unless someone has used this method in the last month or so to see some sort of positive effect.

    good luck :)

Yeah I think social media is going to be the future of SEO, but hey that's coming from a newbie. As for article directories, not really sure yet. I'll just have to give it a go. I just need to build some backlinks to cement my place in the SERPS for a bit
