I started my blog 3 months ago. I targeted my homepage for the domain name + few variations, and the internal pages for niche long tailed kws that had low competition.

    1. First Month - Got Indexed, No Backlinks, created lots of unique content.

    2. Second Month - Created a LW using SEnuke with 10 web 2.0 properties that all linked to my money site and two internal pages for niche phrases. The anchor text was the same, the content spun, i didnt think 10 pages with same anchor text would affect the serps. I made sure not to close the wheel.

I also made some forum profiles with SEnuke with my kw to my money site, (some of these profiles were removed by the site moderator).

Result: I had created about 20 BLs in the first month. This gave me a increase in the serps and positive results for all pages.

    3. Third Month - **WARNING**

I began using scrapebox. First, blasted a bunch of BE and WP sites without sorting PR and external links (big mistake). I then became more savvy at using the program and got real BL juice. Its a great tool once you know how to harness its power. It started showing very positive resuts for ALL my sites pages SERPS. I was on the first page for niche internal pages that were days old!

At this point, Google Webmaster Tools was showing 140 BLs from different domains. About another 50 BL's to internal pages. I generated about 200 BLs in a month.

A few days past and i did a search for my main domain name without the .com and noticed a small drop in serps, i figured it was the G dance and didnt really worry.

Following days this got worse, my domain name was not showing when i searched the KW. I logged into my G webmaster account only to find my BL count jumped to 1700 overnight! - From the same F&#^@!% domain!

It turned out one of my early posts was approved, or autoapproved? And stuck to the main template across a mass adsense blog site with 100,000 indexed pages. DAMN!!!!! ****BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU POST*****

I knew this could be trouble, but kept BLinking my internal pages only in the hopes the other links would naturally fall off. The internal pages started showing some crazy G dance moves, dissapearing and reappearing from #1-#30. As my INDEX page continued to drop slowly for my domain name.

    4. TODAY = 2012 - This morning checked my rankings,my INDEX and INTERNAL pages are NO WHERE to be found in the serps for any given KW. The only SERP found was on page #14, which last night, ranked on page #1! This was an internal page that had 14 BLs. I am not banned because my sites still indexed.

Please need some advice, I am about to give up! I am even will to pay to anaylze my site.

    My Questions:

    A. Do you think G noticed the 1500 or so links falling off from the mass adsense blog site and caused a massive penalty to my entire site? Because this is when i started seeing some negative results.

    B. Is gaining 200 BL's to the homepage and 50 BL's to 10-15 internal pages too fast for niche competing phrases with low competition?

    C. Has anyone experienced a similar situation and can share the outcome or solution?

I have had that happen many times before when using an auto blog commenter. I am always doing lots of different linking strategies so I never know what I exactly got penalized for but I always thought this was a reason.

What you should do now is gain Google's trust back the last thing you want to do is stop building backlinks. If Google starts playing the dance with you and you immediately stop build links that is a big red flag for Google.

I have always seen the Google dance as a test from Google. Because most people will give up or slow done once they see bad results which hints to Google the links are unnatural.

I am pretty sure its just the Google dance, you should probably slow done with the blog comments just a little bit. But keep using SEnuke and all the other tools you have to build links and you should see better results soon.

    I hope that helps.

I think your BL building too slow actually, I build at least 10 a day no matter the niche and rarely have problems aside from the g dance. Sometimes, If it's low competition and I don't want the fuss I just go all out during a few hour long session building links, profiles and other properties til I rank on the first page. Then I let it sit for a day or two til I'm number 1.

The point is, it doesn't matter how many backlinks you build what matters is how consistent they are. If you have 10 a day for a month and then you get 1500 on the first day of the next month and then go back to 10 a day, hell yes G will notice.

    Thanks for the advice.

The start of the month i was blasting more links to the homepage than the internal pages. Im going to harvest a list and split it up into a daily routine. Maybe 10 links a day.

What about the links falling off from that massive blog? I think that raised a red flag.

Also, I have never seen the G Dance this severe. Today, NONE of my pages are ranking in the TOP 100. This happened once when i purchased 1500 links from one domain. But like you said, I stopped and it never recovered.

You should definitely build more links. Remeber only comment every domain once otherwise you can get in trouble.

I was, its just my luck that one of my comments ended up getting indexed within the recent comments side box on massive adsense blog with thousands of pages.

Anyone running SB - add this url to your black cloud list to avoid this problem. http://alimustikasari.com

UPDATE: Since my last post my site has recovered from the drop in rankings. But the most important aspect i noticed was the recovery of the pages I had built within a LW. This was the HP and some Interanal pages. This suggests that blog commenting alone (even for less competitve KWS) will NOT get you to the top of the SERPS. You need to vary the anchor text and use alternative methods of LB.

    Quick thought . . .

Often with my white hat sites, when I begin to build some additional backlinks (sometimes as few as 20-30 high PR links) my site will drop from page 1 to somewhere out of the top 100. After a few days, it reappears and moves up over a period of days.

I think that when Google encounters a bunch of new links for a site, the "dance" is Google dropping the site as it reevaluates where it should be ranked in light of the new information.

My advice is to wait for 7-10 days and see if there is any movement before you attempt to fix a problem that you may not have.

Why is this so? Any reasons for not doing on blogs I frequent on a regular basis or only limited to those one blasts with SB.

Hey is the cloud blacklist on a per user basis or shared across all users?

Also I notice SB has added around 5 URLs to my local blacklist. Will these be automatically added to the cloud (just mine/everyone) or do I have to upload them manually? Also, I'm wondering why SB added the URLs in my local blacklist? Please do point me to any documentation regarding this so I can read up further.

I am not sure if you guys have come across honeypots. The last time when i blasted comments on 1000s of sites, i noticed that i had posted comments on sites that only had keywords on them and no content.

    For ex.

    "cheap handbags"
    "cheap viagra"
    "payday loans"

    etc etc.

These sites are just there to catch spammers out there. So what we can do is have a seperate section/thread on bhw to share the list of such websites and avoid using them future.

You have to be careful where you're getting your links from. If you want to avoid getting those 17000 site-wide links from some spammy auto-generated site, then use a web 2.0 or article directory buffer between the comment/profile links and your main site.

I think you are fine actually I don't think 1500 backlinks is a big deal.

Give it 2 weeks and see if you start to come back up. It seems a large surge in backlinks will trigger a dance on your site. I don't see that as a penalty at all. If google sees ur links changing suddenly it seems normal for them to reevaluate your SERPs

I have definitely found this to be true. Consistency is key when promoting your own sites.

You can be a much more aggressive and get away with a lot more by promoting the sites that are promoting your own sites i.e. web 2.0, articles, PR, etc.

Also, using Google Webmaster tools, Analytics, etc is not a good idea if you are going to be doing anything even just a little bit aggressive. It's basically giving Google a back door into your entire site and promotional strategy.

You should invest in 3rd party tracking tools.

@Yakinari84 - I have been paranoid about G being able to look into my Webmaster tools and Analytics account. You have just encouraged me to change my way of data tracking.

UPDATE: Since this initial post. I have been building quality links from HIGH PR sites and making simple LWs for my target pages. This will get your site to bounce back.

Tips: Make a daily schedule for SB, i only blast 20 every three days. I try to focus on quality high PR blogs rather than quantity. I also set a limit on external links @ 75 on any given page. Too many external links = less link juice.

Hmm no one seems to address the nofollow aspect of SB, from what ive seen a HUGH majority of blogs out there use nofollow by default. With the majority of your comments being moderated, and a majority of blogs using nofollow. It seems the chances of getting good do follow links is pretty minimal and hit and miss.

Anyone have any insight into this? Does G care about your ratio of do follow and nofollow links?

Okay I do not believe google dwells on how many or how little your backlinks come up or down. If this were the case, I could give my competition 1,000,000 backlinks from all bad sites and have them banned or not ranking. Think about it. there has to be other answers.

Maybe content or something, I do not know but what I do know from reality is backlinks can not cause you to not rank or be banned, I know this because when someone first said this, I spent a hundred trying to get my competition banned and they only moved up. Horray for them for me listening to people who don't think.

condolence on the lost site rankings.

But the mystery behind getting in the sandbox still remains a mystery.

Every now and then some of the sites that I cater will experience them some dont even though some were promoted even riskier than others.

But with experience, you just keep what you have been doing and most of the time, after a PR Update you will gain back your rankings.

My experience: 33k+ backlinks indexed in yahoo within 2 months with 3 months old site. They are from all kinds of backlinks you can imagine.
Result: #2 for "edu backlinks" and top 10 for dozens of seo related keywords. a lot of others stay in top 20.
CONSISTENCY & DIVERSITY are the keys.
Just for ref in case you need.
