Ok here is my fucking rant. 1997 was a bad year for me....proof....
today i got a letter from my bank stating that they have deducted 897.00 from a garnishment. I called the collector that was provided on the letter from the bank. I asked wtf is this? He said in 1997 they were granted a garnishment. I said I never recieved court papers? He said wait.... Oh I see that they were substitute delivered I asked wtf is that. Said they were delivered to someone who lived at the address on the account but was not you. Then I asked are you on crack is that legal? Why would you deliver papers to someone who is not me? He said he also tried and successfully delivered bills to me at the same address in 2006 uhhh, what fucking address are you talking about. Then he gives me a address I lived in when I was 14 years old. I moved out when I was 17 years old. Foster home..... Point being... when you are young do NOT OWE ANY MONEY or 12 years when you are a adult they will find you and take all your money out at once. If I were in portland I seriously would make this ass my new job. Harrassing him until I thought I harrassed away 897 dollars.

This is a 12 year old debt...if they can't prove that it was your actual debt that is BS. There is a statute of limitations on collecting debts, I would see what you could do about fighting it. Talk with your bank get the paperwork to find out as much as you can. Take the agency to small claims in your state.

    That sucks though.

I bank with Bank of America and I called them and they said that they would not be able to stop payment as this was a court ordered garnishment. So I am effectively closing my account as I don't want bills from when I was 10 to be taken out of my account next. I am taking them to court, this was a payday loan....makes it that much easier

Thankyou I am going to take these asses to court. I have my birth certificate and this case number with my bank stuff. I can order details on the case, it was filied in a different state than I live in. So i need to see if I can file here.....and on top of it all the bank is charging me a $100.00 garnishment fee. which they will not waive even though i have over 13k in my savings 4k in chkings a cd that is about to expire. Tomorrow effectively I am closing my savings and checkings with them and my cd when expires I will put in a new bank.
