Over the past few days I have seen insane traffic to my website targeting new keywords in my niche. Getting near 8k unique visits in one day I see a lot of potential for money to be earned. My rankings quickly dropped once a few authority sites in my niche posted content, I wasn't aware that this would happen as quickly as it did, but I literally saw one day of quality traffic and after that it dramatically reduced.

Oh well, I picked up a lot in that day. I have about 50-80 people regularly coming back to my site, I have about 70 likes across 3 pages on my site now and about 10-11 stumbles which mean people are liking the content I am posting.

I now realize that authority means everything to Google. I don't know if anyone has every tried this, but I plan on posting content to my site every 30 minutes for the next month. No, not all of this content will be 500 word articles, most of it will actually be Youtube videos with a short description, 500 words, or even up to 1000+ words. Some of the content will even be pictures. All of it will be highly relevant to my niche. This will give me an estimated near 1500 pages a month of content. This will actually fit my site very well anyway since it is a news related site.

I will continue to do this for a few months to see results. I can't imagine this would hurt me in any way so why not?

Nah, why not. Extra useful content won't hurt. Keep us updated how it works and how much you ended up posting.

If you can add new content every 30 minutes, that sounds pretty cool. Even if it is Youtube videos and images, I would imagine that would still be quite a bit of work.
Let me know how it goes.

After reading this thread, I think I might try something similar on one of my niche blogs. Currently it is 100% text, (90 articles) with only a couple pictures.

I tried a similar experiment last year but I was probably posting something short every hour, not every half an hour. I also tweeted every new post I made and even after a couple of days the increase in traffic was noticeable. The problem is keeping it up. I did it for a couple of weeks and then gave up. I was also making sure that the posts were really "of the moment". I would check what was hot in the news or on twitter and write something based on that.

Let us know how you get on.

That's a lot of content OP. Better sit down once for a few (prolly more lol) hours and schedule the content for the next few days.

Yeah, I have a few days of content already ready to pre-post. Right now I am pretty set to see this plan go full proof, just hopefully it works.

In my opinion how would Google not see a site as authority if it has over 1000 + pages indexed and continuing. Shows real dedication.

Make sure you are not short cutting with your content. Dpn't use too much spun or plagirised stuff. Otherwise you are just doing what WPROBOT does - but manually, and WPROBOT sites are very hit and miss (though it is a great product).

    48 posts a day for 30 days is great - 1440 posts in a month. That's HUGE
Problem may be if you can't keep it up. I'd be interested to know how this pans out. I post 4 or 5 a week BIG posts (average over 1200 words) and keep it up for years. I know that builds authority, I also know that 3 or 4 weeks of slacking off and the traffic levels drop way back.

Sounds a great plan - and one that (unless you are steraling all your content) can't do any harm - but one month seems a little short term for me. But interested to see how it goes.
LSI works to an extent - but don't forget this little baby...

That's the formula for page rank - and Google explicity state that page rank is THE authority measure for them above all others. It's about the one thing we DO know for sure. (That expression is the main one, and it the REAL Page rank formula used - unlike most things - Google and Stanford Uni openly tell everyone who can understand it EXACTLY how PR is calculated and what it means. We also know PR requires links - there's just no way around it.

SERPS rises for certain words are entirely possible (at least in the short to medium term) completely without PR - in the long term however, a competing site with equal content WITH PR nearly always beats the one without it. And PR is purely a product of your URL's inbound links and their associated metrics.

    Great case study :)
Keep us informed. (rep and thanks given)

Always wondered: What's an authority page? Can someone briefly explain this to me?

Yeah, none of my content will ever be duplicate or spun all unique and rich in content. Some pages will have less than 100 words, some with 300-500 words, and some with close to over 1000 words. So I figure this is a pretty good mix. Almost every article I write will have a Youtube video on the page and the bigger articles will have pictures associated with it.

Google loves content, thats all I know. Everytime Google crawls my site it seems to be ranking my page for a bunch of long tail keywords that I'm not even trying for. The words I am trying for are being outranked by authorities with little to no backlinks or content. There is a PR 1 website that is outranking everyone in my niche and that's the highest PR. I have already ordered a few services from BHW that should boost my authority quite a bit. I'm talking the 80+ dollar packages the quality not quantity xrumer blasts or anything.

If I keep adding content with some quality links I'm sure by the end of the month if I can keep up the pace that I want to, I will easily see traffic improving, or at least I should.

Glad there's actually a formula to this madness thanks for the share, and I will definitely keep this thread updates. I might post once a week to sort of give a status update on my post count etc.

    Update 8/10/2012

It's only a few hours after I originally made this post, but I thought I would give a status update anyhow to get things rolling.

    Content I've Posted Today:

    11 Youtube Videos /w 2-3 sentences.
    1 Soundcloud Audio
    2 Youtube Videos /w 450-500 words.
    1 Youtube Video /w 1000 words & 8 pictures.

I'd say going pretty good thus far. My content is getting indexed extremely fast for some reason. My 1000 word article was indexed within an hour of posting which is awesome because most of my content beforehand wasn't being indexed for a day maybe more.

My traffic is dropping off steadily as these authorities build links to the new keywords I was targeting. I can't tell if one of my keywords is dancing like crazy or is really below an Amazon link) I'll take bets that it's just dancing. I received a lot of traffic for a specific keyword the very first day it became popular and got a lot of social signals to certain pages.
I earned myself close to 100 legitimate Facebook Likes, a handful of Google +'s, and 10 StumbleUpons.

Now keep in mind, all these "authority" sites in my niche are actually quite garbage in terms of SEO. None of their layouts are Social friendly they have almost no way of sharing anything. To put things in perspective, the #1 spot for this particular keyword has received 40k views according to their stat counter and they have a total of 4 likes on that particular page. My site which I had ranking for 1 day, not even in the top position with a total of 8k spread across 2 pages summed up close to 100 likes and a bunch of other signals.

None of their on-site SEO is optimized. Titles/URLS/H1s/Pictures don't have target keyword. All they have is a bit of content and even that is pretty thin. It just makes me angry looking at it haha, but I 'll be rewarded eventually.

I believe my pages are bouncing around because Google is noticing the social signals right now(hopefully). Within the next few days I hope to be somewhere near page #1 again, right now I'm all the way on page #6 below a bunch of crap links that have nothing to do with our niche which leads me to believe Google Dance.

I've also just had a few SEO packages purchased from this forum finish today. These are high quality SEO packages so they should help out my SERPs but I don't plan on it truly affecting it for the next 30 days or so we'll see by then. As for now I'm just going to continue uploading content to my site, as much as I can, as hard as I can.

Pretty interesting that Google indexed that piece so fast though :)
