Hi, my name is mollah and I have a lot of blogs.

If you're like me, you get pissed off when you waste your time and/or things don't work as expected. So my frustration is your gain. Here is a list of shitty blogs that I do not recommend using for the following reasons:

    - Tumblr (likes to randomly delete blogs without warning. "oh noes you put a link in your blog! You must be a spammer!!! *DELETED* Sucks because Tumblr has some really cool themes)

    - Bloghi (likes to randomly delete blogs without warning)

    - Blogvis (unreliable shitty host, has been down for the last 6 days, no contact info, no method of salvaging old blogs that may or may not even be deleted)

    and recently added:

    - Journalspace (shitty WPMU domain that randomly errors all over the place when you try to create new blogs, see screenshot below. I've never had a problem with them before today, however, so maybe it's temporary. We'll see.)

Hopefully I won't have to update this thread at all in the future but I'm sure I will.

lol. I added those comments in because that's what happens. In real life, it just takes you to a blank page and then tells you the blog isn't installed correctly.

Umm .. thanks for the info and all but .. I'm very curious as to why on earth would anybody waste their time going through those useless blog hosting sites that nobody has ever heard of when you have blogspot, and more importantly (hosted) wordpress that you can use in conjunction with a free hosting account? Just a little puzzled ...

Backlinks? Guess getting them from different IPs works quite nicely.

I was IP blocked from tumblr for a while. I create a semi network of blogs on there, more for the fun of it then anything. Wasnt even any links going off blogger, was just importing RSS feeds and then fiddling around seeing how i could manipulate google through interlinking them.

I dont get why tumblr + squidoo + hubpages dont want commercial type pages. I can understand shitty pages but meh. Thats what they are there for. They wouldnt have any business if they relied on stay at homes making lenses for adsense share.

Still having problems with that fucking piece of shit Journalspace

First, I register, and my activation email comes. I click it and get taken to a blank page. Useless. This is where I'm supposed to get my password but I get nothing other than a blank page.

So I click it again, and see "your account is already activated. Please log in using the password that was emailed to you." It wasn't emailed, you stupid piece of shit. You give the password on the account validation page. Stop wasting my time.

So I reset the password and they actually send me my password via email. Ok, let's log in!

I'm taken to a blank menu and there are no blogs listed under "Admin." What the fuck? Ok, well maybe there was a glitch. I'll create a blog:

I'll name it what it was supposed to be named:

Already exists? Fuck you, no it doesn't. Remember that blank page you showed me earlier? If it existed it wouldn't be blank you piece of shit. Well, ok, let me go check and see if it exists already. Maybe I'm mistaken and it does in fact already exist:

Nope, looks like I was right. You're a piece of shit.

Ok, well I'll just create another blog.

My Blogs --> Create a blog:

I created 5 blogs, all of which errored.

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?

I am done with JournalSpace. I cannot stand wasting my time and Journalspace is a waste of my time. It's a pity, too, because it used to be awesome and never give me a problem. But I cannot be bothered with this shitty 50/50 reliability. Every faulty signup is a wasted email address (especially if it's being used for other accounts and you need to use that email address) and wasted time.

My long list of "awesome usable blogs" is shrinking by the day *angryface*

edit - and while I'm still fuming, blogvis is still the biggest piece of shit ever. It's STILL 403 FORBIDDEN. I have dozens of blogs there that are lost now that I have to redo. Seriously, what the fuck blogvis, just put up a fucking "hey, we're having an issue we're working on it, we're not stupid pieces of shit" index.html page. It will take two seconds. It doesn't even need to be formatted, just type those words and save it and upload it.

Blogsome is now on this list since their blog creation has been suspended for almost 3 weeks now.

btw in case anyone was wondering, Journalspace is still erroring all over the fucking place.

Here's what happened when I forgot that it was on my DO NOT USE list and I tried to make a blog there, anyway:

Vox is very close to being on this list. Sometimes their confirmation/activation email does not come for HOURS (days) after you register, sometimes it comes immediately, and sometimes not at all. For this reason, it is unreliable and not recommended, especially if you need a blog anytime soon.

I understand your frustration but you are only damaging yourself and your business if you have this type of mindset.

    1. Most of the sites you listed, especially Squidoo, Tumblr, Vox, Bloghi, are all great sites for getting backlinks, building authority, and getting traffic to your money pages. Any web 2.0 site that is popular will help you get more traffic and better rankings.

    2. You shouldn't have your money pages on free sites for the long-term in the first place. Free blogs and web 2.0 sites are not your site and are therefore subject to the owner's rules. You can rant about your site getting deleted as much as you want, but they don't care.

    3. Free sites are good for leeching. You steal authority and traffic from them and funnel it to your money pages. That's all they are really good for. You should have an army of them so that even when a few get deleted, you don't really have anything to worry about.

Anyone have a suggested list of blogs sites that allow you to create a free blog? I have a big list already that's pretty old, I haven't had the time to "pick out the weeds".

WPMU sites would be REALLY nice!

Blogpico is now on this list.

All registration attempts result in this:

The official list of shitty blogs now includes the following:

    tumblr
    bloghi
    blogvis
    journalspace
    blogsome
    blogpico

Scratch that, Blogpico is working again.

The rest of them are still on the list, tho. In fact, blogvis has been down for a month now!

Vox - sometimes they work well but many times they don't send the confirmation email until up to 48 hours later which makes rapid blog deployment impossible.

I thought it was based in IP but I've created many vox IPs from the same computer on the same day and had it all work fine, and then I've also taken like a week off and then tried to make one and not gotten the confirmation email for 48 hours.

They have a "resend confirmation email" button but it doesn't speed things up.

So they're like kind of on the list. It's a great site when it works, but when you have to wait up to 2 days to get the confirmation email, it's worthless.
