My niche is a bit complicated but recently the major keywords have changed. I have been working hard to get to #6 for the original keyword (KW1 we'll call it). Using ScrapeBox, paying for link exchanges. Now everyone is flocking to this variation of the product which makes it keyword 2 (KW2).

Some folks are making a brand new website with KW2 in their domain. I instead decided to keep my original domain since it has minor authority but mostly because it has some history so I can outrank those newer sites. My question is to you guys, how hard would it be for me to rank for KW2? To give you an idea, people just created the domain 4-5 days ago and they currently rank for it... So I could outrank them...

    Quite easy,

Create internal pages to taget these new keywords.

Make sure you include a link to these page on all your pages that are currently working well. The link juice will reach your new internal pages and you will start ranking for these new keywords.

Basically KW1 is dead now or will be soon. I was thinking about adding it on the main page? Or you think its better to create an internal page for it, link it to the main page then eventually phase out on KW1 content and replace it with my KW2 content?

Yea create an internal page within the same domain, make sure to have all on page SEO in order, tags, kw, etc.

Also you might want to have a link to that page directly from your home page, found it to be helpfull.

    good luck.

Another thing you can do is create a subdomain such as KW2.DOMAIN.COM

If it's that prone to obfuscation, what's going to happen a few months down the road when it changes again? Would it not make better sense to add KW2 and perhaps KW3 to your posts on the main page?

Your edited content would be seen as new and unique content. This would be a more clean approach and result in the same ends.

It would. It is more like once every two years it seems to change. So I'm fine with riding this storm. With 2 KW on the main page it gets cluttered. 3 KW will get too cluttered. I may need to re-think the site as a whole and do a re-design. Not sure.

Awesome. I think I will just move onto KW2 and completely take off KW1. Eventually, I'd like to remove it completely over time... I may take advantage of the time to completely re-design the site.

Internal linking, incoming links, and press releases, and add the keyword to your page. You have to reestablish authority for the new keyword, but you don't have to get a new domain.

This is an easy one. ALWAYS create a new page and ensure that KW2 is in the URL, Title, Description, Keywords METAtags and also on the new page as H1, H2 and pref H3 in addition to the content.

Next ensure that your main and internal pages link to each other, and to other pages on the site.

Now refresh (resubmit) your sitemap.xml in Webmaster Tools (both Google & Bing).

Then build backlinks to the internal page you've configured for KW2. Deeplinking will give you tons of linkjuice.

    Voila - it's done.

If you can - grab exact keyword domain - .net, .org would be fine and put a couple of articles on it to rank it at the same time you redo your current page - kill 2 birds with one stone and maybe get 2 positions on page one. Also create some Web2 properties NOW for later use.

They've all been yanked. Unless I do Key-word-domain.com. I might just replace all the content or slowly phase it out. I don't think the inner page stuff is going to work. The site is basically a script for running my KW. It doesn't work on anywhere but the root of the site.
