    Hello guys,

So like many of you, i got hit hard by penguin. I spent some time trying to recover from penguin but i got no where and a huge headache.
so I am leaving all my pre penguin websites and work on new websites.

What i have learned from Penguin:

    - Do not over optimize your website.
    - Always diversify your backlinks
    - use alot of diversified anchor text.
    - drip feed backlinks over a period of time.

Theres prolly a ton of other facts that i didnt put in but it seems to me that all the facts that the great IM'ers told me in the past is still relevent now. So i will continue building tier 1 quality backlinks to my money site in the form of web2.0, social bookmarks, and article directories.

question 1 : What other form of tier 1 links do you think works well ?
question 2 : I own SB. Is it still a good idea to blast tier 1 backlinks with spammy AA Sb backlinks?
question 3: If there are some facts i let out about penguinm please advize me and and a ton of other IM'ers in my position right now.

    thnx guys!

Definitely a negatory on that one. Think about the link velocity for one, SB can't drip feed period, so that blast is going to be a red flag in G's eyes right there.

thats true with what you said about SB but the backlinks dont get indexed right away , correctÉ from what i understand, it could take months to index some backlinks but a percentage will not get indexed at all.

I been looking through old posts and it seems like SB commenting tool isnt used as much due to possibly getting slapped by G so i guess the commenter part of SB is dead.

I was quite reliant on methods like ALN and also got slapped. I've also been trying to figure out some good sources for Tier1 links outside of articles/Web 2.0s.

Blah, blah, blah. All those article directory and web 2.0 things are a waste of time. Soon enough, Google will figure out how to completely devalue pointless one page web 2.0s and just-breaking-the-quality-line article directory submissions. Social bookmarks aren't even remotely logical anymore. No one "Diggs" anything. No one finds an interesting link and automatically thinks to write a freakin' Squidoo lens about it.

But you say content is king. Of course it is. Make sure there's a crap ton of epic, readable, inspiring, tasty, juicy, fresh, relevant content that has never been covered on any other site before.

Sure, people definitely do get good results still by making a ton of web 2.0s with unique articles (or highly spun in many cases). But let's be real and think long term people. If the Penguin and Panda updates didn't teach you jack shit, I really hope you quit internet marketing.

Unlike what many people believe about this IM game, you can't just ride the trend anymore. You have to plan 50 updates ahead and think about what any search engine is going to value when nearly every corner of the internet has been spammed out.

Focus your SEO strategy on something like this:

    - Add fresh content DAILY to your site. I don't care if it's 1 article or 10 articles, make sure it's added daily and consistently. Make this content so good that even you would share it on a social network for unbiased reasons. The more people that do exactly that due to your content being freakin' outstanding, the easier SEO is going to be for you and the less work you're going to have to do.
    - If you can't wait to acquire links, be sure that they are RELEVANT links. I cannot stress this enough. Blasting your money site with a load of crappy profiles and all that junk just doesn't work these days. Even if you only get 3 links a week, at least they're relevant and have less of a chance of getting taken down. And with that chance decreased, the less harder you're going to need to work in order to replace those when the webmaster finally gets around to cleaning his/her site.
    - Definitely focus on contextual backlinks, but don't forget that in an era where diversity is highly stressed, it doesn't just mean anchor text diversity. Diversity in the TYPES of backlinks your site has in its portfolio is also significant and crucial.

There's a lot more I could say, but I am too tired and don't feel like typing tonight a lot about stuff that requires my brain to work tonight.

Basically what I'm saying is to change your mindset and think like a business owner and less of an IMer (or spammer as they've been known to become in recent years). Have some respect for the sites you're creating and have your plan to be in this industry until the day you stop working. Everyone's goal on here is to become self-employed. Some already are. But you don't get there by spamming your precious jewels (websites!) with crappy links and hoping for the best.

Poor people have a lottery mentality. They expect to put in little effort and risk and simply hope for the best. Wealthy people have an action mentality and expect to put in a lot of effort and risk (and more after that) and be sure that their dreams become reality.
