[FONT=&quot]My Neighbours friends sent their two children to India to get educated privately. The Indian private school rejected
the children saying that "They are too dumb" then they said "all English children know is how to play Xbox and
speak fluent English" and that's it LOL :D:D

I'm an India, and I think that's less racist than what the west does to us.

PS: I'm not being bias here. So, don't flame me..

It just goes to show how poor the west's education system has become.
I think that all this Tech is making children dumb

Not the tech dude. It's the system.

We Indian blame here for our SYSTEM! We are copying (literally) the west in everything that's there. But we (or more like, our govt) doesn't realize that not all that shines is gold.

How ironical is that that we are running to the US, UK, Canada etc for our education/employment, whereas you people are seeking all these in India, and other South Asian countries for that matter.

All this is showing is that we now do not belong to where we are born. :-(

Why do parents push for a "good" education? It's not where you went to school, but how well you use what you learned to make money.

The children had a lucky escape.
I for one would not want my children educated at a school
who make such biased, generalised remarks.
Perhaps the children were dumb or that their parents hadn't instilled in them
the learning ethic. If parents allow their children to come home from school
and play xbox or watch some rubbish on tv then they cannot blame the system
    for failing their education.
    Education begins at home.

So making money is the ultimate consequence of education?

Personal preferences, maybe. Or less opportunities.

Well, what we are talking here is not literacy, and not "education". Here's a major difference between the two terms.

Literacy is the ability to read and write, that's what we are discussing. Education is in broad meaning, the moral values, etiquette, manners etc.

The school isn't to be blamed here, IMO. Maybe the children were not qualified enough.

Not worth sending kids to private schools. Seen some parents spending 50%-60% of what they earn in educating the children in private school and the kids are now fucked up in the head. They wanna just steal from their parents and live of that, dont even respect them at all.

You're right when it comes to comparing the average Indian school to the average western school. Western media portrays India as some sort of underdeveloped craphole that is one side of the picture but as always there is 2 sides to a coin. The other side that you don't seem to be acquainted with here is some proof of it....

Well known US news shows like CBS actually did documentaries on indian institutions like IIT and came to the conclusion that they are so outstanding that the people who can't get into IIT use harvard, oxford, cambridge as back up universities to which they easily get in. Here is the documentary youtube.com/watch?v=cZ-krbYJPNk

Moreover there are several credible us census stats that show Indians in the us, out of any ethnic group have the highest median income and highest education en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_American#Socioeconomic

it's completely unscientific to compare a middleclass westerner to a working class indian (which is what the media does), compare on the same social class and you will see indians are usually doing better. This is nothing to be threatened about because they are contributing to the world and to our lives, the usb, to the pentium processor chip were invented by indians (ajay bhatt and vinod dahm) you can google those names. :D

Yeah. It does, but only for Indian media.

Google something about Indian students in Australia, and you'll find a lot.

Who would want to have their education in India? I certainly would of done the best I could to avoid going to school in India. And if you've ever gone through the process of trying to hire someone from India to get something done, it's a nightmare.

check out 4 hour work week

He says his business is running so efficiently because of his Indian outsourcers.

I bet you had bad experience while outsourcing to some monkeys for peanuts :D There are some really talented people if you know how to find them.

Isn't the reason a lot of Indians do so well in the United States,is because they are willing to work harder. No one is going to move 7,000 miles to be lazy and not make money. Over 30% of the expats in Russia, make over $250,000 a year. I'm not trying to offend anyone, its just what I've noticed in expats.

No, I think in the UK we are SO overly politicaly correct that if someone even utters a sexist/racist/discriminatory remark there is an arrest and public ridicule.

If that school was in the UK, then it would be all over the papers.

Which personally I think is stupid. I'm sick of our overly tolerate and politically correct stance.

Kids are not even allowed to sing "baa baa black sheep" in school anymore in case it offends anyone.
