My MCN earnings have dropped by 80% since late October?

    Hi everyone,

I just registered as I noticed some helpful info on these forums and seems like you have a cool community.

I have run into an issue and it doesn't look good. My network gets millions of views a month and has been generating efficiently for the last two years, mostly through music. There's been times when I've seen a decline in earnings i.e. January 2013 but that one made sense. This one now however makes no sense as apparently some people are not affected by the issue at all.

My mcn has never generated fake views, or fake clicks, never got any violations apart from maybe one fake strike that got retracted and countered at the same time. Running a mcn properly with thousands of videos, you will sometimes (though rarely) run into some reference file conflicts but like I said it is rare and I do not think that is the issue.

I have a friend who also has the same issue on his network since late October.

What I have noticed on the adsense account is that the CTR fell from around 4-5 to 1 almost instantly. And the CPC while lower, is not affected as much. When inspecting the videos, the skippable video ads (biggest money makers for my mcn) seem to have diminished. Been trying to look up the issue online and it seems plenty of adsense users have complained and are complaining of the same CTR issue recently.

Any information would be helpful. I am wondering if a new adsense account would make a difference or whether we should contact adsense or YT since their Analytics change has complicated things.

    Thanks a bunch,

    You're seeing ghost traffic.

Through statistical methods, google will keep the users most likely to click on ads on their own properties, and they'll send you trash traffic. They show your data one their pages and only send you leftover traffic. They've been perfecting this technique since a while ago.

Basically adsense advertisers who depend on google traffic are receiving extremely low quality traffic from people who have not clicked on google's top ads....
