Hi guys. I have setup a site with original content and good onpage seo. For the past few weeks it has been ranked on the 2nd page of google for my keyword. For the pst few days I have worked and worked on getting my site onto page one and the other day when I checked I was ranked at number 4 for my keyword... SUCCESS!! My first site on the frontpage out of 3.5 million results.. I have since been trying to get to that number 1 spot and worked hard on it all lastnite. BUT THEN.... I woke up this morning (or should I say late afternoon) and jumped straight on my laptop to see if I have had any overnight success....I typed in my keyword and I was not on the firstpage anymore...or the 2nd..or 3rd... I fact I was not on any page I used a few SERPS checkers and found that my homepage was not even in the top 1000. First thing I thought was 'damn..Iv been sandboxed' but when I looked I had 2 other pages from my site in the top 1000. Am I missing something here?? I have not got the best knowledge of seo so I someone could please help me out then I whould be very grateful.
type in the exact address of the page into google see if it is still indexed. Give it a couple of days it might pop back up.
sandboxed would be my first guess, but like you said if you have other pages listed. The first reply is my guess, just wait a day or two and it might show back up, i have had this happen before
i have had some crazy things going on in google. it lasted for around 2 weeks then everythings back to normal. i kept on adding backlinks to the site, kept on posting content to the site and didnt do anything drastic. hope it sorts itself out soon for you
thanks guys. I guess I will just have to wait and see. Hope it comes back though as thats my main moneymaker
How old is your site? As long as you didn't do anything crazy, I'm sure it'll pop back up. Had that happen to me a few times too.
Yep, this is the sandbox. When one specific page dissapear from the SERP (but still remain there if you write site:URL), its the sandbox effect.
If you really build a lot of backlinks last weeks, then you are either sandboxed if you wasn't before OR Google makes some new changes to your site. What I mean with that is, once I also got deindexed ( Soon after I got listed into DMOZ.org ) , but the site came back after 5 days i think ?! AND it was WAY, WAY better then before ! I was ranking for almost 1.000 long-tail keywords, and AdSense was going crazy
this happened to other people too there other threads here about it and to some of my sites too my guess is google changed their algorithm to how they rank sites

The site Is only about 1-2 months old. How many backlinks would you say is 'too many'? Almost all of my backlinking has been outsourced and in the past 3 weeks I have got a couple of thousand links (only 70 are showing up to now though)
I would say in my opinion that a 2 month old site getting over 1k of backlinks within 3 weeks seems pretty high. I havent done any tests myself, but I would guess that you have tripped some sort of spam filter. I have read other threads and I understand the general rule is to keep building links and posting new content
