It's good that you recovered. A lot of different affiliate sites that I track on ahrefs weren't so lucky.

Honestly, ~$450 from AMZ and ~$100 from Ezoic isn't that bad considering that it might be off-season for your niche.

I'm curious to know if you've considered buying/building some PBN links to your site? Maybe they can give a boost to some keywords.

I had tried @tiiberius service like a year or more ago and had pretty good results - Review

I'm just not a fan of having to spend 100-200$ on the same links every month that will eat more into my expenses.

Look at it this way. Let's say the links did help, but people are still not buying anything.

1. Good legitimate PBN links are likely 100-200$ a month for at least 10-20 give or take (might be off).
2. SemRUSH sub + Conversion AI Sub for writing articles = 200-250$
3. Hosting is 20$ a month

Total at least to keep it running is 400-500$

Let's say this month I made 450$~ and then maybe 100-150$ from Ads. I would've barely broken even. It would take the links I would point the PBNs to really rank higher for it to make a difference in my eyes.

Good PBNs are generally safe, I just hate how they can factor if I ever want to sell the site, they always want to know if you have used PBNs and it always affects the price.

Also to keep your ranks or to rank more, you will need to keep paying for that PBN to keep those links or else risk losing rankings.

Anyone, please correct me if this view is wrong as I want to make sure I am doing the right thing.

good luck for you

Thanks :)

What is your hosting company?

I believe vultr instance managed with spinupwp

This is correct. It's blazing fast, and I have had 0 issues. I keep backups every time I make changes to the site with Google. It costs pennies to keep them per month.

2. SemRUSH sub + Conversion AI Sub for writing articles = 200-250$
There is a way to keep this cost down. For semrush you could get a VCC and use the BHW offer every month for a free trial of the Guru plan. That would cost you only ~$15 for a VCC, and ~5min of your time. You could do KW research in bulk to avoid doing this every month.

For conversion.ai I'm not really sure if there is a feasible workaround. Maybe try out a cheaper AI tool? rytr.me has a LTD on appsumo right now which would be around $29 for unlimited words.

You are right about PBNs; they would probably bite you when you try to sell the site. Could you try building one on your own? You can sell the network along with the site.

I have no clue what the costs would be like though. There is a huge AMA by @janist that I have bookmarked that I have yet to go through completely that goes into the details of building a PBN.

Wouldn't your earning also increase with a PBN though since you would start ranking for more longtails?

I'm not a fan of VCCs. I know they would work out, but I use the expenses for my taxes anyways, so it evens out.

I've tried other AI tools and have had the best success with conversion.ai in terms of functionality and how easy it is to use + SurferSEO integration, and It saves me so much time.

I wouldn't mind trying to start a PBN, but I would have no clue on where even to start or what to do, and how to manage it, etc. (I find if people are creating them properly, and their good and profitable, why would they share it?)

If you have a guide or a link, I wouldn't mind reading through it. I would get more earnings only if it actually helps me rank higher, and the trend of the keywords is still consistent.

If the word trend is going down, fewer people are looking for it/not wanting to buy it as much.

August 5th, 2021 Update:

I applied my site to be sold, based on the firms' valuation tool, it gave me pretty good numbers so I figured I will see if I can get what I want for my site.
I am just waiting on the manual verification and what they would offer to list it at.

Ezoic is still doing well, it's averaging 5-6$ a day.

Selling the site for what I am estimating it would be sold for would be great.

I'd be able to take a small break and then start fresh. I even know how I would layout a new blog and silo it properly and which services I would buy into to get it up and running quickly.

These are the ones that I have bookmarked.

Thanks for the information. It'll be a good read.

I just haven't reached out for links in a while. My site is still getting plenty of backlinks organically for being ranked so high for certain keywords/subjects.

Very interesting. So, that seems to be the key in a lot of these journeys in bhw. They seem to be getting backlinks to their sites naturally. :)

August 17th, 2021 Update:

I am still waiting to hear back from InvestorsClub to sell my site on. If I don't hear anything back by the end of this week, I will message them again and ask what is happening.

I might request Motion Invest or Empire Flippers to see what they can value the site and see what I can potentially sell my site on one of their platforms.

Traffic has remained pretty stable for the past 2-3 months hitting around 15k average viewers but as I stated seems like fewer people are buying or aren't interested in buying.

I will admit that Covid did help some of the products on my site sell better, so this can also factor into the decline in revenue while still having similar traffic numbers as previous months.

Current Monthly Revenue:

US Earnings.png

Ezoic:

1629224447479.png

For Ezoic, my earnings have been increasing pretty well through its AI learning phase, which is usually supposed to last 40-60 days for it to really get optimized, and it's already giving me these types of days with 500-600 daily visits, which is awesome.

Also, some people are afraid of using Ezoic because it slows down the site.

These are my Corve Vital Scores currently set up through Ezoic.

1629224926705.png

Without Ezoic, I get close to 100/100 on both. I could optimize this more, but these are good enough numbers on their own, and backtesting my site loads well under 2-3 seconds max for any page, so I am not worried.

Even the ads make a placeholder as not to affect the user load times. The ads will load after or while the user is already browsing the page.

I haven't had the time lately to manage this site very much. It has been running on autopilot since around mid-July when I wrote my last articles.

There is a lot of potential in this site niche, but the amount of time I have left at my disposal to do proper research, write the article, and make sure it's accurate takes a lot longer now as some pages get into a lot of details.

I think I will easily hit at least 400-500 USD on amazon and likely 150-200$ in ads. I started the Ezoic ads on July 22nd, which will change how my income is portrayed monthly.

Very interesting. So, that seems to be the key in a lot of these journeys in bhw. They seem to be getting backlinks to their sites naturally. :)

After getting traffic, people will link to your posts if they are very well written and provide people with good information. They might not be high-end big branded websites, but every little thing helps.

I recommend always getting a team that will build links for you to your pages that you want to rank better as that will provide the best movements in the SERPs instead of waiting for random backlinks from "nobodies."

As usual, post away any questions or feedback. Thanks!

Update again:

I heard back tonight from InvestorsClub with a generous valuation for my site. I decided to try and sell through them. Just waiting to sign some paperwork now.

If the sale does happen, I will let people know what I sold it for.

How many articles on your site?
How about the traffic?

Currently up to ~40 posts in total.

I get around 15k users per month currently.

Yes, OP seems to have knocked it out of the park with keyword research

@Amphoric really curious how flipping the sites would go. All the best!

In terms of site valuation, do you regret any decision you made throughout this journey? Ex buying PBN links etc?

Also, how many total words do you have on your website as of now?

If it's possible, could you tell us what's the monthly multiple they've offered to you?

If my website sells for the amount listed, I will likely start a new journey after with some funds, which will be nice as I will be able to get a good start.

I will likely get myself a wicked new setup at home (new computer, monitors, desk). I want to have a good work setup for when I start again + Playing games is always a nice benefit afterward.

The rest I will save and likely use some more to finish up my garage for the winter.

I did many keyword research and found the best ones to use with barely any competition but with good search volume.

I was able to get on page 1 in the top 6 for most of my articles.

I think maybe like 5 were in the top 10-20 range. But I never did any link building to those.

Yeah, for keyword research, I was able to see what my competitors were ranking for, and I sniped a lot of their low-hanging fruits.

I don't have any regrets in the link building department, especially PBN, as it was a good experience that provided wicked results for the time I had used them (2 months in the beginning).
But since then, I've never touched them again.

I wish I had more time to dedicate to this website, but the amount of research I need to do and the number of tutorials and work needed is getting out of hand. Many informational posts rank very easily and well, but you need to be pretty much writing complete guides for each post. It was getting annoying and time-consuming.

I probably have around 100k-150k words max on the site.

Great Job..

Thanks.

Based on the amount given and my calculations, it equals around x33 based on my current numbers (avg income per month x duration, stable traffic, etc.)

If it sells, I will make sure people know what I got for it, and I will try to do a final stats page update if I can.

You buy PBN and get good results? then you don't do any backlinks later?
