    Hi Folks,

I have a keywords dancing like a crazy, for example 3 weeks ago it was #22 then it disappeared for "2 weeks" from the serp, then just 2 days ago it appeared again at #11 then it disappeared again yesterday so it's nowhere in serp again !

    Note:
-This KW is pretty old and competitive also
-I'm hosting with Hostwinds (shared hosting 6.5$/monthly)

So What do you think the reason is ?

    Best Regards,
    Thanks in advance

Google is testing you for blackhat SEO. I heard somewhere that bouncing is good. That's how Google catches black haters. They drop your ratings, and if you are a black hatter, you will start to build links, right? :) And if you are starting, boom, Google bans you.

Maybe it's not true. Who knows.

How long was it expired for and was the domain de-indexed when you bought it?

It could be that Google noticed that it expired and they are treating it as a new domain. This is pretty fucking normal if that's the case... Just wait, maybe work on other projects in the mean time.

That sounds very illogical as naturally sites still get links built to them even if they are bouncing.

Google has been leaning harder into the dance lately. I myself have a couple keywords that volt between 12 and 70 on an almost daily basis over the last week or so.

Google is likely split testing your click through and bounce rate against a bunch of other sites. They test you and the other guys at different positions at different times and whoever seems to get the best reaction from users wins the best end spot.

Google is all about the split test and the algo these days. A lot of it has to do with their new AI, it plays around a lot to learn and split test.
