Why not? You can...
.org domains are traditionally meant for non-profit sites. Not sure what happens if you don't follow that rule though.

If you're asking, yes you can buy .org's for your keywords.

Yeah Nothing Really happens, as far as I know they're not going to Penalize you for a .org site, most people usually just don't use them
7 of my sites are .org and I also have 3 .net, 1.co.uk and 1.com and the .org domains are all on Googles page 1 for their keywords. Nothing wrong with them at all and I would choose them over a .net anyway (only if the .com has gone)
