    Hey guys (and gals)!

Long time lurker here, finally decided to open up a thread in this ahh so inspiring forum. Been reading lots of your threads and some are so inspiring that my hats off to you. Kinlee's thread really blew me away, the amount of work, dedication and effort, wow. Anyways, I'm just a new guy on the block, been trying different methods but no success as of yet (i've made nickles and dimes but nothing serious) but mainly because i've been all over the place and been generally lazy when it comes to real work. But hopefully now this has changed as i've read alot about pinterest and adsense and i think i'm ready to take my shot and the gold at the end of the tunnel.

    So whats the goal?

Well ideally i want to make at least 40-50? per day via adsense by posting on pinterest. I think that's an achievable number for first timers. Later i'll aim higher.

    Whats my niche?

I've choosen food/recipes niche because i believe it's pretty simple to gain traffic via pinterest in that area and there's plenty of recipes lying around waiting to be picked up. What i've built is not some shitty blog with gazillions of ads, i'm actually going to build a reputable food site that will hopefully catch on. When i start to get some serious visitors i'll be adding some affiliate offers and other stuff but nothing too annoying. Want to keep my users returning.

    What I've done thus far?

I've been building a site for the past week, updating it with recipes, have about 50 on, all nice with pictures and 4 articles (healthy food etc) and i've got a cooking press theme running, fairly satisfied with it, lot's of work with it tho, hopefully i got it all right. Site looks nice imo. I've set up a fb fan page and added all social stuff on the website and i keep on updating it to gain more likes & shares trough facebook etc. On pinterest i've gained access to about 20 food boards with lots of followers, combined number is somewhere of about 750k which looks plenty to me. I also have 1,1k followers, i've gained them by just clicking follow and pin random stuff everywhere, seems to be effective but stopped when i started to pin my stuff. I also plan to write muchos articles in the food niche relevant to the website, i've done my research (not the best at researching keywords but i've found plenty low competition keywords with high avg searches and cpc, i'm assuming i'm getting that little per click because of the shitty ads and when i write articles and start to rank after certain keywords i'll get higher cps, correct me if i'm wrong).

Soo, whats the general purpose of this thread?

Well any advice on your behalf is highly apprechiated, i know some of you have plenty of experience and i hope to gain some from you. I don't plan to use any bots as i don't wanna risk getting banned. I think my plan for now is to get into more big boards, some of my pins already got like 200+ repins, i don't know if thats alot or little? Feels like a lot to me, but doesn't show in visitors. I've had about 500 visits since friday when i first started advertising and made about 1? lol. But where there's a will there's a way so it won't demotivate me, besides people know of site for only 3 days, i guess i still need more time and content and pin more frequently.

I've read somewhere on this board that it's a good idea to get pins pinned into your board and repin from there. Gets more credit that way and effects seem to show as i'm getting massive repins now. Could be just a coincidence though. Ok so i think i've wrote pretty much everything and i'll try and update this daily, hopefully i'll get some feedback, i know there are some users here also working with pinterest and adsense, maybe we could help eachother in the right direction :) Anyways, if you've read this, well done, off to work i go and try to make more pennies :) sorry for my bad english and hope to talk to you all.

If you have any questions whatsoever feel free to ask

Are your recipes unique? I always ask this because some members here got their adsense banned by copy and pasting recipes

Yeah i mean i rewrite the whole thing as far as directions go, i do copy the ingredients since they're not copyrighted material, also i make sure i don't post any direction pictures, only the final product and rewrite the directions

I have done this and it is very easy, though I would suggest the humor niche, it seems to bring more traffic.

Thank you all for the kind words!

Well here's the update: I've been pretty busy today, wrote 3 articles, now totaling 5 on a low comp keyword with 10k searches, hopefully eventually i'll rank for it. Also posted 5 recipes and spread them trough pinterest. I don't understand one thing and that is in my niche (food/recipes) i'm in a lot of group boards, totaling of about 700k users. I get very little % of visitors when i pin to all the boards, like 0,1% and I'm not sure why. I try and find real tasty pictures and write a nice description, am I not pinning enough? Maybe wrong timeline? anyways, earnings for yesterday: 0,07€ - the James Bond is strong with this one lol :D Suggestions maybe?

I'm not sure if it's worth it to combine a pinterest focused blog with articles + google searches. Optimizing for google is a lot different than optimizing for pinterest imo but that makes this thread interesting.

Gonna follow you and learn how it works out :)

Edit: To clear my statement up a bit, in my understanding this is the difference:

Google Traffic Site: Keyword focused articles with LSI keywords and silo structure - Static Front Page - Strong Backlink Profile

Pinterest Traffic Site: Just a lot of short posts with a picture (like receipes) and adsense optimized theme - Blog Style - No Backlinks required

If I'm wrong here, somebody might correct me on this :)

CrushL well how would you go with it? What i want to do is build a real nice auth site with plenty of recipes and articles. Not sure if i've set to do this correctly. I planned to start only with pitnerest + adsense but the cpc on recipes is really low. So i've been doing keyword research and there's really low competition in that niche as far as articles go. I don't plan on building any backlinks but maybe i've set this thing wrong. Essentially what i want is constant traffic via search engine and pinterest, now as far as optimizing goes, i'm not really sure what you've ment. Hopefully you can shed some light, maybe i'm doing this whole thing wrong:D Btw earnings today: 89c - making progress! :) as far as CTR goes, its 0,5% which is really low, not sure where the problem is here, maybe ad placements, maybe too many ads? I've read that having a bunch of ads can be counterproductive and that you should only have 1-2 adds, i think i have 3 or 4.

Ok I'm really confused here. Please help me guys, here's where i'm at:

As mentioned I'm in the food/recipe niche. I have about 80 food boards, totaling of about 700k followers. I have 1500 followers that follow me. I make about 5-10 pins per day (rewriting recipes is time consuming and when i rewrite the whole thing it takes time). I pin them in my board first, then i pin them into all group boards. I tried at first pinning each pin into all the boards and repeat the process until all the pins are pinned in all the boards. Yesterday i've tryed pinning all my pins in my board and then pinning them all in order into each group board to get more exposure. But nothing has helped, i get avg 30c daily and 250-350 page views, with just one or two clicks on the ads. I'm clearly doing something wrong here. I hand pick popular pins and upload them to my website and pin from it. I would very much apprechiate some guidance as i'm getting a little desperate. I've read many threads here and people mostly do the same thing and with much less boards and followers get much more exposure and earnings. I would really need your help. Suggestions on what i'm doing wrong? Thank you up front for your answers.

Btw I'm really desperate here to start earning with IM, 10€/day would be wonderful for me as the job situation in our country is really horrible. Basicly you can't get a job (there have been only 8k employements last year), i don't have a job, i'm running out of my savings and i really need some help. Hopefully I'll find a good samartian here, I'm ready and willing to work 10x as hard if needed, if only i see some results. Last month i've made total of 10€. Thanks again

Long time no update, i haven't given up, had my exams this past weeks also my blog crashed and had to rebuild it and had to study lots, not much in earnings but great day today, my earnings jumped to 6,56€ which is great, accomplished my first mini goal which was 5e/day, now onto 10€/day and make it steady. Most thanks for improvements go to Yassenex, he's a great guy! kudos BHW community, i'm trully inspired to work harder now. Yes it's peanuts but you gotta start somewhere

You can do that. Just keep in mind that a good site needs a lot of work and if you want it not only to get traffic from pinterest but also from google, then it'll become even harder (onsite optimization, backlinking etc). Of course, if it works out, the site will earn a lot of money.

Pinch of Yum would be a great example of a site that does what you are trying to do. Maybe you can get some more inspiration there. Seeing what the site earns is quite motivating: http://pinchofyum.com/category/making-money-from-a-food-blog
