Hey guys, I'm a complete absolute super noob at this, but I thought I should start a journal here. Excuse the "thoughts", since I'll be mostly copy/pasting from my Evernote.
Firstly, a little bit of background info about me:
I'm a 19yo Australian girl and I moved to South America by myself in January to do a photojournalism internship and teach English. Now I've moved cities and since the teacher hiring season is over, I'm in desperate need of money, I guess! So I've taken to the Internet, since generating foreign income here helps a lot. Most English institutes here hire teachers at $5USD/hour (mine was underpaying me at $200-300/month for 30 hours/week). Sooo, I think that I'd be better off spending that time online instead. As of now, my goal is just to make enough to survive ($390/month rent + bills and food), so I'm hoping to EVENTUALLY get to $600/month or $20/day to help out with that. However, right now, my immediate goal is to maybe make $50/week to help out with the groceries... as a starting point!
At the moment, my plan is to rely on Fiverr, oDesk and Elance whilst I research IM since I know nothing, zero, nada, zilch about it. I'm looking at some of the guides on the site and stuff, and just trying to build up my IM vocabulary and learn the general processes and stuff.
So, without further ado, I'll start posting. My first entry is actually 15/05/2014, so I'm gonna post it now, and I'll post today's (17/05/2014) in the following post once I write it up
15/05/2014
Today was my first day of like, actual semi-serious work, but I still feel like I?m going nowhere. Basically, this week, I took the liberty of creating an introductory post on BHW, as well as researching some methods. I joined the following websites:
-Commission Junction
-Clickbank
-Peerfly
-Fiverr
-oDesk
-eLance
Hopefully something will come out of these. Yesterday, I posted my first gig on Fiverr, a HD vid testimonial thing and woke up with a message requesting the gig, but it was kinda dodge. Nevertheless, I?ll probably take it. Hopefully I?ll get a reply again.
Today I took a job on oDesk and corrected an essay, but I haven?t been paid yet? These websites seem kinda dodgy so I?m thinking of stepping away from them.. maybe. But it?s a start, I guess.
I?ve also cleaned up my computer in hopes of being more productive, which I think will help and stop me from getting distracted. I?ve decided that what I need to do before I start is more research.
To-do: Research and be introduced to IM and maybe look at some programmes for Mac.
