Good evening gentlemen,

Over the courses of the several weeks, I'll be learning about SEO as a springboard for my own projects in the offline world.

I'll probably stop the journal when I think I have a decent grasp on things, then I will probably go back to offline work.

What's my SEO experience?
Zero. I have some web design experience.

I don't have a facebook or social media or whatnot. I don't even have a mobile phone so I'll have to learn on the go.

Gameplan:
drive as much traffic to website which I will monetize using CPA (email submits and maybe PPD).

Tasks to do next week:
Finish the ebook I am writing which will serve as bait for content locker/PPD.
Manually create more content for website (let's say 5 articles)
Build the website + set up facebook page + install viral script
Create a youtube cartoon video
Manually respin quality articles about niche (let's say 10 articles, more as needed)
Explore the strange and bizarre world of social media do article submission and blog posting

Do some more keyword research
Rinse, wash, repeat.

As a goal (since I must have one) ,let's go for 3000$ a month for next month.Because it's a bit ridiculous not to work for at least that amount.

Try to utilize social signals as much as you can
Lately i have been ranking my web pages using only social signals

Good luck

Good luck bro, I learn a lot from BHW too!, especially journey section.

around 2k words into the ebook, still have a while to go.

I'm writing it slowly but I'd like this part to be quality.

OK, content creation is effing mind numbing poop. I installed Dragon Naturally Speaking to lessen the burden. I'll complete a few more training sessions and post how fast I can create articles.

Didn't do a lot yesterday. Part of it was procrastination. Damn you ADHD. Part of it was lack of a clear time-table/agenda so between two sessions of training Dragon and re-writing articles, I started researching keyword research (no pun intended, even if the pun was quite nice). I realized I better find my KW first, as Article writing is a very time intensive task. So it's near my bedtime, so my goal tommorrow is to:first of all, organize my day, then find 5 long tail keywords related to my niche.and then just go on with my gameplan.

good luck with your journey, keep it up...
Cheers,

With some deliberation, I don't think I will be focusing on google but instead go for social media and hope for the best in terms of SERP. Coming from a background of direct sales, I do not like the fact that it could take a long time before seeing results. Is there much more I can do? Not likely, unless I want to invest in software or do keyword research for things like "toilet seats for guinean lizards". It seems a too much of a hurdle to compete manually in SEO when everyone else has tools. At least not now. It is a bit ironic as I do not even like Facebook.

I now have a facebook account of 20 ish friends in a couple of hours and it is growing slowly. I guess I could go Gaga just adding "friends" but since I'm still exploring and not sure how I'm going to monetize it, seems pointless to burn a proxy for nothing. Perhaps I am being too conservative? Time will tell.

Ok the facebook account has now grown to 130 ish friends. But the problem is that most seem to be from third world countries.I did my best to filter out the unqualified people. Must be because of timing of the posts in the different groups, I shall post tommorow morning Pinterest doesn't work out for me for some reason.
