Just putting this out there. I make music. I discovered multiple flaws in Soundcloud's system that allows me to reach targeted audiences without too much effort. It's mostly automated and I hope to completely automate the system by the end of the week.

My aim? To attract as many people as possible to my music in the hope that I break the scene and sell my own music.

I produce music that doesn't really fit into any genre, yet people IRL seem to really enjoy it so I've started putting it online and dedicating more time to my music whilst utilising my skills as a software developer and hacker. Can't beat that feeling when a DJ drops your track and the place goes nuts. There isn't a feeling in the world that can match that.

Do what you can to get that money right?

I started last night, briefly, whilst testing my software. I managed to get 350 plays from real people yesterday. This rolled over into a some likes, followers and comments. I haven't really pushed much yet as I was only testing the software.

If you want to follow the journey my Soundcloud is here: https://soundcloud.com/imbase2

I will try to update the thread daily with my progress. I won't be releasing the method public, but if there's any serious Soundcloud players around here you can feel free to hit me up we can probably work something out. If you discover the method ... stay hush and utilise.

Once Soundcloud is bought out by Spotify it'll be dead.

Hi there, iam on soundcloud myself, right now i have 840 follower. Write me a PM and we can discuss some Soundcloud things ;) I guess we can exchange some infos !

Will ping you tonight buddy. Just about to visit my parents for a few hours.

I would really like to know how you automated the system and what flaws you discovered. I know excatly how much likes/follows/messages you can sent each day/a time so its pretty hard to grow theses days with soundcloud (its not like twitter where you can follow hunderts of people a day)

I like some of your stuff. Growth hacking your music following is a good idea. Are you just following others/commenting on an automated level? I dont know how soundcloud works.

I can completely bypass any limits.

You're lukewarm ... ish. I don't think there's many people doing this. I haven't seen them anyway. I seen one guy go from ~500 followers to over 60k in a week. I can only assume they did something similar.

Maybe his music was really good? ;)

It actually was. But after the 60k it stopped rising. It had me suspicious because he's stagnated. Could have just been a retweet from a big name that drove traffic. There's always that.

I will talk about music as I'm not a professional in finding flaws :p
So first your music is very relaxing with a very good mastering. But I think that if you want to reach the maximum number of people and push them to buy your song you should follow one of the popular genre (edm, pop...)
But it's just my opinion ;)
Between are you using FL or ableton ?

Ableton Live Suite 9, Sylenth1 and sampling. That's pretty much all I use these days. I really don't like EDM or pop. I feel creatively useless in those genres because you're bound to rules of the genre.

I understand that you want to be free in creating your music but I just wanted to tell that if your main goal is to make money, it's preferable to switch to a popular genre. If your goal is just to share your music with the world, then I think you should continue to do what you love !
I'm personally making edm just because I love it, but I'm not aiming to sell or something else (essentially that I'm bad in mastering x) )

Oh, Good luck to get the 800 followers tgat you lost

Yeah man I am so gutted about that. My tracks were getting a lot of plays. I'll get back up there eventually. I'm on 90 today. Haven't ran the software yet. Over the next month it should start to rise so long as I keep making more beats and pushing forward.

I don't really want a lot of money from this. It would be nice to have a little income on the side from music. My music is "the product", I just need to figure out how to push that product amongst the millions of other producers. Would be nice to have others talking about my music and bit of recognition, but music for me is just fun and something to release stress. If I can even slightly break into the scene like Kaytranada, or Tommy Kruise, I will be happy :)

I could buy fake followers to compliment what I'm doing to give the impression my profile is popular, but to me that feels like real cheating as there's no work or effort going into it.

I like what another person said above ... growth hacking.

I don't know anything about soundcloud but I do know I like what I'm hearing. Good job.

I do have one question, how would you monetize this? I'm not sure how musicians make money these days, besides live shows and selling t shirts.

Selling music via iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp etc.
