Hi Folks, I joined a year and a half ago, but really have only came back and been actively trying to learn this past week.

I dont have any 'set' goal. $50 a day would be good. $100 a day would be better. $200 a day and I could quit my job and do this full time (the dream).

I dont know yet what methods I am going to use but just off the top of my head at the moment I have been really interested in Kindle book writing. and the recently posted Amazon Affiliate tutorial.

I want something simple, something steady that will continue indefinitely, and something legit. Its not an ethics issue, I couldnt care less about how people get their money (as long as it isnt scamming me), I just think I would enjoy the security.

This will probably be BHW's slowest ever Journey thread, because I know so little and want to know so much, I am open to as much help as possible from anyone who is willing to, but I dont expect anyone to jump forward and hold my hand, I know this is MY journey to make.

Nice to meet you all and I hope one day to be able to post something and give back, even if that day is a long way off :p

    Good luck!
Start making a list of ideas, dont discount the "dumb" ideas...they usually lead to better ideas!

It is important to get off your ass figuratively. Literally you will need to spend more time sitting on your ass ;).
Often are people forced in to thinking that they cant do something. And even more often, especially in first world countries people are too comfortable to start doing something themselves.
So, I wish you good luck and I hope that you succeed :)

If you can write good (and fast), take the most interesting topics from the niche(s) you want to write about and publish eBooks on Amazon. Create nice covers and make sure you format documents properly before you submit them to Kindle.
It takes around 100 average eBooks, priced between $2.99-$4.99 to earn around $1000-$1500 of passive income each month..

Is that something you can do?

I dont see why not. I do have a question though... If you do any updates to a book, you lose all reviews is that correct?

(The reason I ask, is if you think you can improve a book after the fact, is there any point updating it, making it better, and then starting fresh, or would it be better to just rerelease as a 'book2' or ehchanced edition or something. Or would you just forget about it and move on to the next book altogether)

I am not sure if you lose reviews, but no point updating anything cause you will be busy writing new books

Okay, I have made a little progress. One problem I have is I am trying to do too much at once. At least I realize it though. I need to slow down and quit trying to do everything at once. Focus on one thing at a time step by step and get things accomplished.

Next up is getting a domain registered and get hosting so I can put up a site. (Going the amazon route).

Reccomendations on hosting / domain / places I can buy or pay for people to make me a good design for my website?

    All cheaply of course :D

Havent made a cent yet, will tally up my costs soon.

People use godaddy, name, or namecheap for domains. As for hosting I've love to recommend one place but recently everywhere I have purchased has gone from bad to worse. If you are buying something cheap maybe use a big brand for the hosting, have wp super cache installed and use cloudflare. Try and not let these things stop you, just go do it yourself.

There's plenty of wordpress tutorials on the internet, and some of these places have 1 click installs to get you up and running. You only learn by doing, if you get really stuck we will help out but try not to post your website in public because there's some not so nice people in the world.

What is current methods for finding you niche / keywords. I see not all that long ago people using Ultimate Niche finder, and a few others. So if I want to see my keyword competition, whats my best bet?

Post here if you want, but PM is also welcome to anyone.

    Thanks :)

    At frist, sorry my english
As of myself, I know that the best way actually to start doing something is desperacy... like I have to buy this or that right now... I motivate myself like imaging I have nothing to eat or to wear... you have no clear point, no deadlines, nothing... in other words, you keep your ass in heat and want to do "something" having laziness on board... In my experience it will not work, you really have to be clear or things should go extreme to change something in your life

I know now godaddy is a POS provider, but frankly I figured they could handle a relatively simple matter, but nope. I buy my domain and 10 minutes later having problems.

Does anyone else know anything about godaddy and if there is some reason amazon stores/widget do not work with them? I thought copy and paste html code was pretty straightforward but godaddy support was stumped. I tried pasting a widget as iframe, as script, and in frameset.. nothing worked. using their 'web builder v7'

any ideas / suggestions on how to make it work? (aside from leaving them, i only paid $12 for the year so even as shitty as it is i might as well keep it)

    *Update*
Figured it out. God their support is stupid -_-

    *UPDATE*

Havent made a whole hell of a lot of progress... but have made some.

I am about 90% done my first ebook, and Ive already bought a fiver gig for a cover. I dont think it will sell very well, but it wont cost me much to try and it will be good for the experience.

Domain and hosting up and running. Amazon store up and running. It needs some tweaking, and it isnt a very pretty site, but I have seen uglier, so I feel pretty good about it since Ive only been at it a few days. Not 1 sale yet, but its only a matter of time.

Most important thing is I am taking action. Now I just need to tweak, tweak, tweak, until things start going my way.

I run a whole company, and am always looking for different ways to market. Nothing would stop me from finding a new niche, as well. Let me know how your journey goes. I'm interested in the up and comers and how to start from nothing. This way I can understand how to truly understand Internet Marketing
