Good evening and welcome to my blog type deal where I will discuss my journey to becoming the pewdiepie of Vid.me!

    Introduction:

Vid.me is a video posting site similar to youtube however they give you more visibility than youtube. I'm sure you know all about the recent bullsh*t youtube is doing to their creators and it has become virtually impossible to become someone on youtube nowadays and it's become worthless to even try. I reached over 1000 subscribers in my prime of youtube, but over the last couple of months I have dipped below 1000 and am continuing to lose subscribers. I have almost 1000 videos on the site as well. all gaming or let's plays in case you were wondering what niche i am trying. I have noticed through many comments sections on the site that people were switching over to vid.me because they give more exposure. I uploaded one video on the site and it reached over 20 views in an hour. I had no followers and the views came from the recent videos that the site features. It was a star wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast episode 1 video. Whats crazy is when I searched star wars in the search on the site, I was listed near the top! I was like holy sh*t! I gained 2 followers already...one of them is one of the co-founders of the site!!! I was also verified when I requested it which really boosted my moral on the site.

    My Goals:

1.My goal is to tap the site and upload as many videos as I can before the site becomes more noticed and flooded with others videos which will reduce my chances of fame. I am starting early this time since I failed on youtube to start early. Since the site doesn't have monitization yet, it's not on too many creators radar to spam their videos on that site yet. But once they do get that, things will change and they will skyrocket "hopefully" above youtube in terms of viewership and since I started early...I will rule the site! I am getting chills just thinking about my future and what it holds. I am extremely dedicated and to show it, I am recording and uploading to the site as soon as I have videos and since I have a gaming niche, I have lots to upload. I uploaded about 20 star wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast videos in this one day alone.

2.I also hope to make this my full-time job one day since I love recording and sharing my experiences with people and communicating with others since I was a loner most of my life and am extremely shy in person, and with videos, I can communicate without being scared or nervous and can reach out to other people. I want to be noticed on the internet one day so I can learn to communicate with people and with people that appreciate my work. it will ultimately help my social anxiety.

    The Ultimate Goal:

I may sound like a jerk for typing this but...TO BECOME THE PEWDIEPIE OF VID.ME! or basically the biggest and most followed "gaming" channel on vid.me.

    In Conclusion:

I created this blog with hope that fellow small channels learn more about this site and the opportunities it presents. Whether this site actually goes viral or not is still in question but I want to share this site on this specific thread because a lot of people are having trouble getting noticed on youtube and I believe this site is what you should be building your following on. I personally believe youtube is falling apart and the creator will be abandoned one day on that site and vid.me is the future of creators. The community there is excellent, and the staff is amazing, active, caring, and knows what they are doing. They know how they can improve and are open to your suggestions. So I truly hope you give this site a chance. That is your decision though, and I have made mine.

vidme will never be able to compete with youtube as far as exposure. Many video sites have come and tried. Unless they offer a better monetization deal I don't see it taking off.

Youtube is just way to big, everyone knows and uses it. Others are just never going to compete.

Problem is only (a few) content creators are outspoken negative about youtubes policy. As long as they stay on youtube youtube will stay king.

    Hello there,
Youtube it's ranked as nr2 in the world on some sites and nr3 on others ..., anyway it's in top 3 sites OF THE WORLD. It's hard for a site as vid.me ranked like 1,562 to have a chance. A lot of sites are trying this but all of them are far away. the numbers just don't help them.
    Here is a small statistic
    1 | YouTube 1,000,000,000 - Estimated Unique Monthly Visitors
    2 | NetFlix 150,000,000 - Estimated Unique Monthly Visitors
    3 | Vimeo 130,000,000 - Estimated Unique Monthly Visitors
4 | Yahoo! Screen 125,000,000 - Estimated Unique Monthly Visitors
    5 | DailyMotion 100,000,000 - Estimated Unique Monthly Visitors
    6 | Hulu 75,000,000 - Estimated Unique Monthly Visitors
    7 | Vube 55,000,000 - Estimated Unique Monthly Visitors
    8 | Twitch 50,000,000 - Estimated Unique Monthly Visitors
    9 | LiveLeak 45,000,000 - Estimated Unique Monthly Visitors
    10 | Vine 25,000,000 - Estimated Unique Monthly Visitors

so ..the rest of competitors combined don't generate enough visitors to beat youtube. maybe you will find here another site to try but vid.me is out of the league.
Hope this answer helped and good luck with your project.

Yeah, it will be hardly impossible to become that famous on vid.me, especially if you want to become as famous as pew. A few thousand subscribers should be manageable, but you'll be far away from the usual 1-50mil subs on YouTube. Also, most sponsors are only interested in YT.

If you weren't successful on YT, I'd rethink your content strategy. It's entirely possible to become a smash hit on YT today.

I don't really want to change my niche because I love the kinds of videos that I am currently doing. I don't want to make this a chore.
I don't plan on becoming that famous hehe. My goal is to be the leader of that particular. I am trying to grow a following on other sites so I can grow faster on youtube if I still use it. It's a good plan to upload to multiple video hosters. Especially smaller ones where you can get more recognition for yourself.

It is not an easy thing to compete with the immense colleection of videos already available in youtube unles syou create features that makes accessing and using videos easy. But in my opinion, there are already lots of features in Youtube and along with android, it will be king.

you are right, however, I seem to be getting views and followers much quicker on vidme. and my content is "original" on that site so it shows in the search much easier and it's a niche i enjoy doing. You never know...Facebook dominated social media for a while but many new ones came and took their share. Twitter, instagram, snapchat. Vidme just needs a feature that is unique and innovative.

Haven't given an update here yet. But my channel on vid.me has taken off! 400+ followers and my most recent video has over 300 views and reached the front page of trending videos on vidme. Someone even left a tip . Anyway, on my way to the top

I went to check the front page and videos have less than 1k views which isn't that difficult to get. You could even get a bot to increase views and upvotes. :)
