Hey amigos, long time lurker here - decided to finally get serious and focus on building my empire. For too long I've tried bits and bobs but now i'm serious and set myself a huge target: Buy a house in 2018!

Yes, I'm done with renting (mugs game - no offence) month-to-month. I now have no job (freelance only) and almost zero in the bank. But I do have a bunch of ideas, as well as a neat little software extension tool I've developed and its all good to go. I just need to take action now, hustle 'n grind. But also one more important thing: hold myself accountable. That's exactly why i'm posting here - for both support and accountability.

Anyways, back to the plan. While I don't have much financial resource, I do have time - so I need to make sure I spend it wisely. I have 3 parts of my plan:

    1) Sell my Software Extension Tool - This is a lil' 3rd party extension tool I actually developed myself over a year ago, for a business software product. There is zero competition, just need to convince target users of it's value. I have packaged it up into a nice download file, bug tested and its good to go. Also setup an online store page with a temporary hosting offer and using PayPal as payment. I'm pricing it as $20 and will keep 100% excluding PayPal fees. Selling begins tonight - I'll be cold-emailing my contacts/businesses that I have accumulated over the years, as well as reaching out to relevant blogs/forums that may help me. Expect the next 7-days worth of energy will mostly go on this project. I have further plans, including offering online access/support as a SaaS. I think it's slightly easier to hustle to businesses with budgets, rather than poorer consumers lol, so I will explore this further in the future.

    2) Build an Amazon Content Site - I made my first IM dollar many many years ago on niche hobby sites, but this time I want to build out a much larger branded site. This is a longer-term evergreen project, but I need to get started sooner rather than later. More on this another day.

    3) Turnkey-Fun-Projects (TFP) - Every time I come to BHW I discover a new idea. I am also a big fan of not putting all of your eggs in one basket, especially with payment streams - so I want to diversify. But of course, I also don't want to spread myself too thin by doing too many things at once. So I'm going to only allow 1-2 Hours maximum on Part 3. I'm calling this phase TFP (Turnkey-Fun-Projects). These could be anything from CPA to Video to Social Media Marketing. The key with these is it has to be fast, scalable or possibility to outsource in the future.

My end game in all of this is to be in a position to buy a house next year (2018). Either via a mortgage ($30k deposit) or if things really take off, buy a house outright. Who knows? I also will will be asking for your guys opinions along the way - if you feel I'm making mistakes a long the way then please let this brother know.

Exciting times ahead - let's hope this is a fun and rewarding journey!

Update Day 0: Wow thanks for all the amazing comments! You amigos are the best.

Little update, turns out I wasn't quite as ready to start selling as I thought. I've spent my most of this evening merging all my cold contacts/links into an excel sheet, while researching effective / high converting sales pitches - but that don't seem too spamy! So I'm now going to start selling tomorrow when my first emails will be sent... May watch a couple of Wolf of Wall Street motivation videos on YT to get in the spirit! :D

Thanks Holzr, I haven't used Amazon Associates for a loooooooooong time so may have some questions.

Thanks Shafi432, Yeah Plan 1 is both the short term + long term focus. I think selling software/niche products direct to business-based users (B2B) is the fastest/direct way to make most of the House money, but I'll need to do much MUCH more to my little software extension to get it to the point where I can charge more (online access/support etc - SaaS). The reason for Plan 2 + 3 is because I also want to diversify and also learn new skills/opportunities. Maybe I worry too much, but if I go all in on Plan 1 and something drastic happens like I get Zero Sales or PayPal close my account etc then I'm stuffed. So yeah, that's keeping my fingers in many pies.

Final thought: I know my target is, well, insane! I mean a freaking house! ...But I also think sometimes we need to dream big, have huge ambitious goals that should actually scare us. I'm not naive though - I'm sure there will be many darker days ahead..:( ..but the clocks ticking and 2018 will be here before I know it!

    Update: Day 1
    Day 1 Revenue: $0
    Total Revenue: $0

S'up amigos. So just launched Phase 1 - my software tool. The first batch of cold emails (<600) have been sent (in batches of 99 from 6 different accounts). So hopefully will start getting visitors to the landing page soon. These are business-based users, so rules around anti-spam don't apply in my country, at least from a moral stand point. However I'll need to consider a better (paid/proxy) email system for when I ramp up future mass mailings. I'm forecasting hopefully a 2% conversion rate for those who make it through, and because they are so strongly targeted, the CTR will hopefully be decent.... There's a lot of "hopes" going on here at BMEHQ today! o_O

I also included a short video on the landing page explaining how the tool works and features. I won't be linking to it or naming it on this Journey thread because (a) Competition and (b) the tool is only useful to a large niche of business users and so won't benefit this community. My first target is just 1 sale, preferably in the next 24 hours to gain momentum. I'm also offering a 7-day refund so for all sales I won't be withdrawing the PayPal funds until this time has passed.

Next, I've got other promo work planned, including contacting relevant blogs for a shout-out to my product page. But I also need to hustle in the real world, because I'm running on empty with cash for groceries etc. I have some tech things I can sell on eBay later today (1-day sale), so this will take a bit of time out of my strategy, but if I don't then I won't be able to eat lol. Using my time efficiently is key to being successful on this journey, and I'm hoping the snowball effect will soon kick in. Anyway, I will try update this thread later today with hopefully some landing page stats.

Have a great day 'all - Take action.

Bro, I hope you will get to your financial goal, but buying a house is the worst possible thing you can do with your money.

Lol, I understand what you mean amigo - that if and when I hit my targets I should instead take the money and re-invest etc (take another risk). The problem is for people in my country (Expensive Western Europe) rent payments alone takes up 50% of peoples income. I'm now in my 30's and I just want a small place to call my own. Over the last decade I've spent $60k+ renting from landlords in Europe, with nothing to show for it, while paying off my landlord's mortgage and turn an extra profit for him.

My generation are being squeezed out of the home ownership market. No more new land can be created, house prices have risen for 12 years back-to-back in my city and rental prices have increased 7% over the last 3 years alone. Ideally, at the end of this journey, I would love to be in a position to buy a house or plot of land outright - that is if Plan 1 evolves into a good sized SaaS and I get lucky. In that situation, I wouldn't consider it the worst thing I can do, because after the purchase the income streams can be solely reinvested back into my strategy.

If this journey is successful, and I get my prize - a freaking house - then I can always start another journey after it...
