I'm glad where I am at now in terms of content. I am about to send another list of articles to my writers which will put me over 300 articles really soon. Keywords have been exploding! I have doubled my ranking keywords in the last week as content is indexing and starting to rank.

I already made $41 on Amazon Affiliates for this month (only made $30 all of last month). I want this to be a small piece of the income for this site by the end of the year, with the bigger piece being from ads when I hit 50k sessions/month (Mediavine).

183 articles are UNDER 2 months old. I expect the growth to get really exciting around October/November. I have been so inspired by other journeys on this thread as well as a few Youtubers who have some sort of connection with Income School.

I have worked out a writing plan with my main writer and expect to send more articles in the coming months. Also, I am working with a niche edit service that provides me ~10 DA 40+ links a month to help build my authority. I have mentioned these services in my previous posts but please reach out to me directly if you have additional questions. I have certainly experimented with MANY services at this point in my journey. I'm pretty satisfied with the prices that I am paying for these services.

You're doing great, I would suggest you to avoid paying for fake backlinks... If you really want to build a high authority website for the long run you shouldn't be paying for backlinks, right now google focus more in the content quality than the backlinks due to these shady practices.

With content quality backlinks come organically...

I'm not going to go crazy with backlinks. Honestly, I will probably reassess on a monthly basis. I certainly see the value in content over backlinks. Times have changed...

It is better to pay for few HIGH authority backlinks on recognized HIGH authority websites of your niche.

In 97% of all cases, it's not as easy as "build it and they will come". Buying links is a necessary evil in most cases. Once he becomes an established authority in his niche, it will be much easier for him to aquire natural links, but in the meantime, buying high-quality backlinks will jump-start his efforts. As you said, the ones he buys should be high quality and look as natural as possible.

Small update -

So right now, I am at 150-175 organic searches a day. I just ordered another 65 articles for this site. This will get me to ~340 articles on the site. I eventually want to get to 500 articles by the end of the year.

I realized it is probably wise to start another site as well. I created a new site in a different niche and will start by adding 50 informational articles to get it going.

I have spent $7k+. This includes content, backlinks, hosting, etc. I will provide more details on the numbers later in my journey.

I don't have ads yet. That will be my primary income. I have made over $50 on Amazon, which isn't much but encouraging.

My philosophy is to be smart with costs but not get too overwhelmed as of right now. A fair assessment will be done when my articles have been given time to rank.

A few questions:

-How do you feel confident in spending that amount of money without much of a return yet?
-Do you have a lot of experience with these kinds of projects? Do you have a large budget that you could afford to lose?
-Do you see any major risks to the project at this point, that could undermine its success?

I am working on a similar project and have spent about $1,000 so far. I need to spend a lot more to get the content production ramped up. But the thought of not succeeding, and thus losing the money, is a scary one. There are a lot of what-ifs. What if the traffic doesn't come? What if the site doesn't get accepted into the right ad networks? What if the RPM is lower than expected?

This is my first journey of this kind. I have done plenty of research for me to justify spending this type of money. Sometimes you just need to go with your gut. After seeing some success with Amazon and traffic, I decided to ramp up the investment.

Are those searches or visits to your website from searches?

Visits to website from searches.

July was great. Saw some meaningful growth with ~$74 in earnings from Amazon and a nice spike in organic traffic. I had a tremendous month in terms of publishing new content - adding 157 articles (202,000 words)! ~75% of the articles were uploaded in the last 2 months. Only 11 articles are older than 4 months, in which half of them receive decent traffic (8-15 views a day).

I did some light math and can envision a path towards 70-80k views/month by ranking many low-comp phrases/searches. If all works out, sky is the limit as this point.

This month I also started a new site and uploaded 24 posts. I will probably hold off on doing any additional work for that site because I want to focus on my main site for now.

Growth was great for this month but I don't expect a huge uptick for August. A lot of articles still need a few months to receive rankings that will attract the large amounts of traffic.

A good chunk. I am still tracking all my expenses, however, I will not provide those updated numbers until I join a premium ad network. Majority of the expenses are related to content - I pay roughly $0.028-0.038 per word for content.

I think its helpful to see other successful sites in your desired niche and see how you can improve on what they have done. Outside of researching their keywords and rank positions, you can see if they have mediavine or adthrive. The site is pretty successful if they are partnered with adthrive :)

I saw a site in my niche with roughly 25-30k views a month from a category with 20-25 posts. I followed a similar strategy to a part of my site, however I made the articles better (more content, added videos) and build out the category to 75 posts (and growing).

Fantastic growth, especially the ranking keywords, when compared to just one month ago. That number is actually much better than the same number for my site ;).

If it continues like this, and the ranking KW are climbing higher (which is typically the case for authority websites) 60K-70K page views/month is a realistic expectation until the end of the year, or beginning of 2021.

Typically how long are your articles? Are you doing mostly informational or a mix of different types??

Posts optimized with affiliate products: 61/353
