Hello, everyone! I am a long-time creeper, and have finally decided to create an account. The reason I am creating this journey is to help motivate me in my IM pursuits. I feel that tracking my daily stats will give me accountability & force me to work hard on this journey. Hopefully this will provide you guys with entertainment & motivation also. Lets begin!

    Accounts
To start my journey, I will begin with two accounts. Both accounts
are relatively old (4+ months) & have confirmed emails attached to them. Both also already have followers & content posted because I started this journey a week ago.

    Account #1
My first account is in the TV niche. Without revealing the account, I'll just say it shares content relating to a popular comedy TV show. Essentially this account will consist of posting character quotes & pictures from the show. Yes, I know this niche is saturated, but I enjoy the show, and I figure I might as well have fun with this. More fun = more productivity.
    Strategy
    • My primary focus on this account is quality. I want to gain active followers & establish a good base.
    • This account will tweet about once every hour. Due to the nature of the account, each post will be unique.
    • I will be follower churning, but at a very safe rate, to avoid issues.
    • I may consider favoriting relevant tweets, but I need to find a good way to automate this.

    Account #2
The second account is surprisingly more unoriginal than the first. Unlike the first account, this WILL be annoying. It will simply be a follow 4 follow type account.
    Strategy
    • My primary focus on this account is pure quantity. I don't care if the followers are real, I just want numbers.
    • This account will tweet as often as possible, including retweet 4 follow tweets.
    • I will be follower churning as aggressively as possible while trying to avoid repercussions.

The reason I am creating this account to get good numbers is so that I can eventually turn this account into a quality account, and people will be more likely to follow. (Do you follow the account that is following 10k & has 2k followers? No.) Good ratio is key.

    Goals
    (per account)
    [ - ] Automati0n

There are no monetary goals because I am far too early in this journey to consider monetization, yet.

The most unique part of this journey is that I plan on automating this entire process! I am an aspiring software dev & have written a couple bots for various REST api's. I already have the framework in place for a Twitter bot, but I haven't had time to make fully automated (still bugs, no error handling, and very messy code.)

    Day 0:
    Account #1: 1,697 followers : 1,234 following
    Account #2: 1,470 followers : 1,224 following

Hope you enjoy following my journey!

    DAY 1:
    Account #1: Followers 1,714 (+17)
    Account #2: Followers 1,466 (-4)

I spent most of my work time today writing my bot. I have finished writing the code necessary for follow churning & will deploy it tonight. Since no code was running today, my account numbers have hardly changed. My bot will follow ~700 people each day. This may seem pretty aggressive, however my bot obviously does not follow all of these at one time & spreads it out throughout the day so that it appears less suspicious. In addition, my second account will start to retweet the rt4follow tweets.
I also plan on creating more accounts. I figure that if I can add more accounts without doing any additional work, I might as well. As long as it does not affect the performance on my other accounts, it's a win-win. Anyway, I am excited to see where I will be at the end of the week!

Awesome journey, I'll be following along. If I might add a couple things:

Don't do rt4follow, never worth it imo. Looks spammy, decreases interaction rate (which applies to your other tweets in the future). If you're going for pure numbers buy them for ~10 bucks.

As for writing your own bot, I wouldn't. First of all if you don't plan on utilizing twitters API you'll go through hell and probably won't finish unless you're damn good. You can use the api and wrapper but I believe they have tighter restrictions due to the obvious factor that its automatic (thats from experience with instagrams api, however I'm sure it applies to all sm sites).

If you want an imacros script pm me, it automatically follows other peoples follows with random 1 sec + delays. I did this two days in a row then unfollowed the third day (with the bot). It may not be completely automatic but it's pressing a damn button, plus you could automate it if you want. I use followliker now, but the bot still comes in handy if something messes up and my ratio gets screwed.

Also you can't have a 10k:2k follower, you can only follow 2k people when you're less then 2k. then once you hit 2k+ you can follow the same number as you have followers + 10%.

Awesome job man though, stick with it I can't wait to see more posts.

TeamSocial, thanks for all the advice! I think you're right about rt4follow. It seems to be doing nothing beneficial for my growth. I think I might completely turn my second account into a niche account also, as opposed to strictly gain account.
In regards to the bot coding, I think I may stick with it. I am going to school for Computer Science, so coding is something I enjoy doing. While it will definitely take more time than alternatives, I think it will help me become an all-around better developer.

    Thanks for your encouragement!

I can give you few suggestions.

-Add a 2K fake followers on each account to have enough room to follow and unfollow.
-Make more accounts, 50+, you can't have a empire with two accounts!
-Its good that you are a coder but if you start experiencing problems, swallow you coding pride and invest in a working bot like FL.
    -Don't give up

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

Thanks for all the tips, Wizard04! I also think you are right about the coding pride. At the first sight of botting trouble, I will definitely switch to a proven, reliable bot. I am also planning on adding more accounts, but I wanted to make sure I can handle a couple first.

I have read your journey, and it actually provided encouragement for me to start this venture. Keep up the good work!

    DAY 2:
    Account #1: Followers 1,794 (+80)
    Account #2: Followers 1,638 (+172)

Today was a pretty good day for Account #2! While Account #2 is getting much more followers, I think that most of these are bots or inactive users. Although the daily gains in Account #1 were less, I am seeing more per-tweet engagement on it. I am also considering modifying my strategy slightly, such as removing the rt4follow tweets. However, I need more data before I can justify the switch, so I will wait for a week.
I do intend to add more accounts. I have 2 more accounts made, but I need to determine a niche before deploying them.

Regarding bot development, I have finished the core functions. I have designed it in such a way that I can create & deploy customized 'tasks' with very little work. I want to add some logging and account statistics, along with more robust error handling, but this can be done later, since the bot is functional.

Well thats great. Like I said i messed around with instagram for awhile a year back and it was a lot of fun.
Now I'm more into curl libs for bots but I found twitter to be a REAL bitch. Let me know if you're using the API or http lib, I'd love to hear about it.

I'm a fan as well wizard - Great job.
I don't quite understand the whole 2k thing though? Isn't that counterintuitive?

You can follow youre followercount +10%, and 2k for everything below 2k.
So adding 2k followers literally only boosts your follow limit by 200.
Whereas if you just added another k it would boost it by 1300 followers. Mind filling me in?

Hey guys! I'm sorry I haven't updated this thread in almost two weeks, but I have been crazy busy. I was not able to work on this journey very much, but I was able to iron out a few bugs in my bot. In addition to that, I have also discovered two more accounts that I have created a while back that I can use for this project. I like these aged accounts because I believe they are less likely to get banned compared to new accounts.

For these new accounts, I plan to employ a "copycat" strategy. These accounts will steal tweets from accounts they are trying to mimic. The benefit to this is that these accounts can be completely independent from my control, so I can focus on my main account. Now for the numbers:

    Account #1: Followers 1,868 (+74)
    Account #2: Followers 1,938 (+300)
    Account #3: Followers 100
    Account #4: Followers 105

Since accounts #1 & #2 are starting to approach 2,000 following, I am going to begin unfollowing accounts to be sure I stay within the 10% rule. I have to be cautious because the bans usually happen when unfollowing too rapidly.

I've noticed a couple things the past few days. First my gain accounts appear to be growing much more quickly than my main account. However, the tweets from my main account get better engagement. Also, my new accounts seem to have taken off pretty nicely. As a note, Account #1 has been unfollowing the past couple days, so it has less gains, but a better overall ratio. Here are the numbers:
    Account #1: Followers 1,879 (+11)
    Account #2: Followers 2,054(+116)
    Account #3: Followers 661 (+561)
    Account #4: Followers 426(+321)

Hey guys, I'm back! Sorry for not updating this thread, but I have been very busy the past couple months. I did not have much time to focus on Twitter, but since it is the New Year, I have figured I would start again. My Twitter Bot is completely finished! It has a modular design, so I don't have to do any maintenance when adding new strategies. Without further ado, my stats:
    Account #1: Followers 4,774
Account #2: API Suspended from write privileges, so I am putting it on hold
    Account #3: Followers 1,411
    Account #4: Followers 1,370
    Account #5: Followers 545
    Account #6: Followers 341
    Account #7: Followers 1,284

Accounts #1 & #6 are my two primary accounts. They are both in the tv show niche. I just started #6 last week, but #1 is doing quite well. I am getting very good engagement & starting to grow organically. I have even managed to get several viral tweets over the last month, getting 30k+ impressions each!
My goal is to get my other accounts into their own niches, and start gaining targeted followers. #7 will probably go into the hot girls niche (still have to think for the others.)

I also looked into monetizing, and came across MyLikes. I am currently making ~$0.25 /day on account #1 with 1 post/day. Literally pennies, but it is cool to see some cash flow in. It is true what they say about mylikes though, they do shave earnings. I am also seeing much fewer link clicks reported by mylikes than by twitter & bitly. I am going to stop monetizing now because I fear it will negatively affect my followers. I should stick to growth for now.

Well, that's it for now. I will try to keep updating this thread, and welcome any suggestions or comments. Happy New Year's!

    Update
I spent the last few days unfollowing on my accounts. I chose to do this manually because I feel that accounts usually get flagged when they are doing bulk automated unfollowing, more than when automated following. I am going to tweak the parameters to see if I can find a "safe-zone" for auto-unfollowing. Since I've been unfollowing, growth has slowed, but should pick up as I resume following. Here are some stats:

The accounts that have lost followers still don't have a niche, so I am not to worried. #1 & #6 are still growing.
    Account #1: Followers 4,887
    Account #3: Followers 1,396
    Account #4: Followers 1,260
    Account #5: Followers 493
    Account #6: Followers 394
    Account #7: Followers 1,201

Making progress on giving the other accounts content. I was able to fully automate accounts #4, #6, & #7. I'm worried that automating will deliver lower-quality content, but I realize that I need to scale up if I am going to make any reasonable money. I will keep account #1 manual because it has been working well for me thus far.
I also need to play with my following speed a little bit. I want to get more followers quickly, but have to make sure I avoid a ban.
I also plan on adding more accounts as time allows.

great journey. Love the way you are slowly, but steadily worming yourself into the matter. I am growing my twitter account only through organic means. I found the follow/unfollow stuff to be quite hm...unrewarding. Quality content amazingly leads to hardly any new followers (I courently stall at about 30k; everyone who is serious about twitter seemingly has an unfollow-bot) - but to way more engagement.

Account #6: Followers 1,174 <- Another TV show

Made some accomplishments in the last few days. I finally gave account #5 a niche. It is a "seasonal niche", meaning it will only be relevant for the next month or so. Hoping to get a decent amount of real followers, so I can apply it to a new niche later on.

Account #1 got 400+ followers in under a week, so I am pretty impressed. Also, I had my most impressive tweet ever, with 40,000+ impressions 400+ rts & 600+ favs! I am also beginning to see an increasing amount of people quote & atting their friends on my tweets, which are healthy signs of engagement. My only issue is that I am not yet growing fully organically. (I can only gain when follow churning.) Perhaps that just takes more time.

Account #3 is not in a niche, but I have been receiving strange engagement. Tweeted a mylikes link & I made 50 cents, which I thought was weird. Maybe I just got lucky?

Now that I am comfortable with my bot/strategy and can fully automate my accounts, I am looking to scale up. And with that, I am looking into more account security. I am worried because I made the mistake of using the same phone number to get access tokens for multiple accounts, and in doing so, have created a potential link between accounts. Obviously I need to be looking into phone verified accounts. I cannot buy them just yet because - as part of this journey - I promised not to input any external cash. Once I reach $20 on mylikes, I can use that money, but that won't be for a while. So, for now I am looking for a way to phone verify my accounts for free. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate the help.

    Until next time!

Never knew that twitter as well could have great followers and in turn be transferred to good business. very informative post, i have learnt a few things. Thanks
