    Hi people,

    About me
I’m new on this site, browsed for some days and thought it would be interesting to try some tactics that I have learned over here. To clarify I have minimum experience in SEO. The experience I do have is mostly on-page SEO. My Goal is to earn $396 per month through my site. I will share my findings, thoughts and hope people will learn something, in return I would hope to get some tips and support.

    Why this thread?
I created this thread mostly for motivation, advice and support. I’m hoping to learn some things while posting here and I hope other starters will read this and learn something to ;)

    Goal
My goal is to earn $396 each month through affiliate income. Why $396? I have found a keyword(group) which have a really high volume of traffic (according to Ahrefs). Now I know most people will be thinking these keywords must be way to hard, but the research I have done tells me it should be really easy to rank high on these keywords. (I do have to research this some more in case I have made a mistake, then this journey wouldn’t even be worth the trouble).

    Keyword volume: 22.000
    CTR: 30%
CR: 3% (Not sure if this is realistic)
    AVG order size: $25
    Fees: 8%
    AVG Income per month: $396

My Steps to getting high in Google and converting customers
    1. Deciding to register a new domain or an expired domain.
    2. Get a nice Premium WordPress theme up and running.
    3. Writing content.
    4. Link building (through 2.0s and maybe PBN).
    5. Iterate (read: get a top position in Google).
    6. Do some A/B-testing to increase my CR.
    Disclaimer
I don’t want to be pessimistic but this is probably going to fail. It’s my first journey with affiliate marketing and there is a high chance I’ll make some big mistakes on the way which cause the project to fail. But even if it fails, as long as I learn some things on the way I will be satisfied.

    How can you help?
Please if you have any questions, tips, ideas, links etc. Please do share them as it may help me or others reading this post.

This is how people learn and adapt.
Keep records of your step by step methods, see what works, see what doesn't.
Stop doing what's not working then try something different.

    Just a quick update.

I registered a domain, installed WordPress, my theme and SSL.
Zeroed in on some more keywords and started to write some content.

I am aware that I could hire someone to write the content for me, but I want to do the whole process by myself so I can really understand how it works.

So I am planning on writing five blog posts for starters.
    • Four blog posts for the correlating keywords with some volume (1000-1200 words)
    • One blog post for the main keyword (2000 words)
When the posts are done I will put them on the site and start building some links through Web 2.0s.

Do you guys think the amount of articles and the amount of words are sufficient?

PS, thanks for the support people above! :)

You should increase the post count as 5 posts won't get your anywhere. Try to stay consistent while posting and follow some good on-page SEO guide.

Good luck with your journey :)

Thanks for your answer! I will scale it to a lot more posts. The word count would be good enough?

The niche I'm in, all of the sites use "standard" texts for the products, would it be a smart move for me to stay away from these texts so my content is unique? Or should I follow the top pages by using the same product description texts.
