Thought I would start a journey thread to keep myself motivated. I know these fizzle out easily but I have invested money and lots of time so far and hopefully will be able to see it through. I am currently working on three different sites. I know that might sound like a lot for a newbie but I have a tendency to get bored with just one thing so having three different kinds of sites will help me stick to it in the long run. My goal is to make 25.00 a day hopefully in 6 months. Here is the breakdown:

Site 1: Ecommerce site with amazon and aliexpress affiliate links. This site I have been working on the longest. I purchased a high quality keyword from the marketplace here and have done all of the onsite work myself. There is no content involved except unique product descriptions which I have done myself. I will also incorporate a blog in the next month.

Site 2: Adsense site. This site I did all the keyword research myself. It is in a niche that I am getting involved in and as it turns out has a pretty high cpc and very little competition. I have ordered 10 articles (5 1000 words and 5 500 words) and have written a 750 word article myself that I posted two days ago to get things going. I am working on another post at the moment and once my article order is delivered I will schedule the posts for once a week. After a few months(? not sure what the recommended wait time is) I will start utilizing adsense (luckily I already have an approved adsense account from back in 2012). I will also start doing smallscale link building after a few posts. I might do those myself - not sure yet.

Site 3: I have purchased an amazon review site from the marketplace here and am waiting on completion. Once it is live I will likely purchase articles and post once a week for about four weeks before lowering to once a month.

Thats about it for now. I think site 1 is going to be the site I experiment with the most. I have purchased a seo package from the marketplace just to see what happens. With site 2 and 3 I am going to do very selective seo and maybe try what works on site 1. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated!

Be careful with Amazon that you have enough unique content. I did a similar thing, but at the time that I made my first commission I had a number of Amazon product pages that I hadn't yet filled in a decent description for (only had title, one line of description, buy button and photo). Amazon check your site when you start earning, and they closed my affiliate account for not having enough content on pages with affiliate links, even though overall there was a lot of content on the site. You can of course fix it and re-apply if that happens.

Good luck, I have 3 sites for the same reason as you :)

Thanks for the tip! I have been working my but off getting unique content on all the product pages. At the moment I only have 20 products listed and about 5 of them have decent content. Im spending this weekend completing the site. Hopefully it will be enough.

Finally able to update on my journey. Having three sites is great for diversity of workload but the workload is kinda overwhelming! I have been doing a lot of work though so let me break it down and see if yall have any words of advice.

Site 1 (ecommerce amazon): This is the site I have slacked off on and I dont believe I will give it much focus in the upcoming months. It can definitely be something but for now I am going to let it age and keep it as a backburner project. The seo package I purchased here on bhw did help the site go from no serp to 86 a big secondary keyword and seven other kw's ranging from 140 - 600 searches per month. Not great but well worth the small amount of money spent with no other work done on the site.

Site 2 (adsense): This is the site I did all the keyword research for and built the website myself. I purchased a large pack of articles from a seller on here and they were delivered on time. I didnt expect high quality articles for the price I paid but having a framework made it easy to rewrite them with ease - I can rewrite a 1000 word article in 30 minutes and have it money site quality. I have re-written 5 of the ten articles I purchased as well as written one myself so there are six posted on the site now. I havent posted a new article in a week but hopefully will be able to keep posting once every two weeks for the next couple of months. I have not purchased any links for this site. I have built 3 web 2.0's and have been posting on those. I placed my first link the money site last week and popped up on google this week for a run on keyword with 320 searches. Not what I was expecting or aiming for up I'm just happy to be up! I am going to try to create a couple more web 2.0's in the next couple weeks and see what happens.

Site 2 (amazon review): This is the site I purchased from here and I could not be more pleased with the result. It was well worth the money and it came with 10k worth of amazing content no re-writing required. Once the site was delivered I created one web 2.0 (life got too busy and I havent had the time to create more than 2 posts on it let alone create more), pinned reviews to pinterest on related boards I had created years ago in college and shared a couple of reviews on facebook. After just doing that the first week the site was ranking for a variation of the main keyword. After talking with a friend online I took the plunge and purchased a highly recommended fiverr gig for a guest post on niche related blog. I purchased the gig about three weeks ago. And about a week and a half ago the site started dancing around for the main keyword it popped on and off the results for a couple of days and as of this past monday I am ranking for the main kw at 86 and a secondary at 46 (as well as 3 other smaller keywords related to the topic). I am so freaking excited about this! I mean, I have made no money but its still rewarding to see some movement!

Well, that's it for now. Trying to figure out my next move on sites 2 & 3. I know I need to build more 2.0's so I think Im going to focus on that for the next few weeks. I could really use some insight on where to go from here? Should I let the sites age more before purchasing any more links? I havent done any for site 2 and only one for site 3.

Keep at it Noel seems like you're doing all the right things. I'm building my first Amazon niche site now. Interesting to hear about having low amounts of content can get you banned on the program - I have a lot of content on mine but I do have a 'deals page' that simply shows a title, image and price as well as my review score. Maybe I need to change these links to link to the review and then through to Amazon.

    Will follow this journey :)

I think that as long as the site as a whole has a good bit of unique content you should be fine having a deals page. I know that even a strictly ecommerce site with amazon affiliate links can succeed as long as the product descriptions are a decent length and unique. Thanks for the encouragement - good luck on your journey!
