    Hello BHW!

I've created this thread to journey my process of getting $200/day.

I have a nice introduction planned for this first post but BHW would not let me post it ;/

I have what I call my freedom number, and that number is the amount of money I need to make on a daily basis to cover all the expenses for my wife and kid and live comfortable. Reaching this number would allow me to "retire" from my traditional 9-5 so I can focus on this store full time and other ventures. That number is $200/day. While building this store up, I am also looking to create a strong brand that I will leverage into other things in my niche. Specifically, a YouTube channel/Podcast. I plan to use social media and e-mail marketing to kick start these two projects later down the road when the store has a relatively nice follow and I have my format down.

I am starting with a small blog I made in my niche a while ago that I have been auto blogging and managing social profiles for. I have never tried to monetize the website until now. I have tried making other Shopify stores in the past and have had no success. This store is built on WooCommerce using Wordpress. I selling a combination of drop shipped products from AliExpress and Amazon while also offering a few print on demand products.

Here are the resources I am starting with through my blogging efforts the past 6 months.

    List Subscribers: 2,647
    Facebook Page Likes: 2,170
    Instagram Followers: 4,388
    Twitter Followers: 264

As you can see I have mainly been focusing on building my list, page likes and Instagram followers leaving the Twitter account neglected. I would like to build up the twitter account to be on par with the others but I haven't found a good method for doing so yet.

The website used to just be a blog, but I have spent the last week redesigning it and getting it ready for e-commerce.

I am starting with a Total of 27 products in my catalog and will expand from there.

I have just launched my first Facebook ad tonight for a product I am hoping to be a breakeven way to get people on my list and introduced to my brand/store. If the ad makes a profit even better!

My method for launching the store is as follows:
    1. Found 5 products in 5 different sub niches along with 4 upsells for each product.
    2. Test out each intro product with a $5.00-$7.00/day Facebook ad budget for 4 days.
    3. Kill the ad if it is not working after 4 days.
    4. Scale the ad if it is working at the end of the 4 days.
    5. Move onto the next product.

Doing this, I am constantly working in 20-day cycles and will be introducing and testing new products every 4-5 days to keep the store fresh and to constantly be finding new products that sell well.

Hopefully, this thread will be useful for others. As I move along in my journey, I would appreciate advice from all the other black-hatters out there who have already traveled this road I just turned down.

Going to let my first ad run for 4 days and will be back then with an update.

P.S. I will also likely post thoughts, ideas, etc. I have for my store/brand and the direction I want to take it along the way too.

A few questions for those who have been down the same road...

How do you guys feel about free+shipping offers?

I personally have never had any success with them. I always see Gurus pushing them as the way to go but in my experience, I don't think they work like they used to or maybe I just suck at them.

I am not giving up on them yet though.

For my first ad, I have 3 ad sets going. One free+shipping, and two free shipping offers where the product is $14.95.

All 3 are wc ads using the purchase pixel.

So far about 18 hours into the ads and no purchases yet. Going to run them for 3 more days. Hopefully one of the sets with convert. If not, I'll kill all 3 and move on to a new product.

I also would like some input on how to best monetize my list.

I also have a separate ad running to continue to build my list. Currently paying about $0.21 a lead.

I have no problem building my list, I just struggle to monetize it. Now sure if I should be pushing products in the messages to my list, or just blog posts with in post ads.

Also not sure how frequently I should be blasting my list. Every day? Every other day? Etc

I am mainly selling trinkets/jewelry/collectible type items that target a sub niche inside a larger niche.

Not sure what kind of content to be sending in the mailers. Should they just be similar to blog posts that are more personal? Just go over latest industry news?

I eventually want to start creating video content and use this list and my socials to direct traffic into my YouTube channel and promote special discounts.

Anybody have any input or links to good resources on what is the best way to do this?

Small update on my first few wc ads.

Still no sales. Haven't really even gotten that many clicks either. 1 ad set I've gotten 2 Clicks, another 3, Clicks, and another one 7 Clicks. Have spent $5.00 on each set so far.

Going to run for 1-2 more days to see if any will snag a conversi N

My PPE list building campaign is killing it though.

Spent about $8.00 and have gotten 428 opt-ins so far. All from the US. This is mainly because the organic reach has been really good thanks to all the shares the post is getting.

Unfortunetly, still trying to figure out what to do with this list (how to constantly publish to it and monetize it).

In basically a form of retail niche, so not sure what kind of content to create for the list. Also struggling to come up with idea on how to create a YouTube channel around the niche as well.

Got like 7 free YouTube courses from the awesome people at BHW today and going to go over those tonight to hopefully get some ideas.

Anyways, still figured I'd keep building the list until I do figure something out so it will just be that much bigger.

Also nearing 5000 Instagram followers so that is awesome. Will be a nice milestone for me. I have yet to try and monetize through IG. Want to get around 10k followers before I start.

Facebook page likes have grown by about 100 since last update.

Twitter account is still small. Sitting at about 270 followers :/

    Goals going forward:
    - Find an ad for product that converts to get first sale.
    - Grow IG to 10,000 followers.
    - Grow list to 5,000 followers.
    - Grow FB page likes to 5,000
    - Grow twitter fplowing to 1,000.

If anyone has some input/advice on monetizing a list, that would be greatly appreciated.

First ad set yielded no results. Moving onto the next one.

Previous ads were a F+S offer and a $14.95. Never had any success with F+S so not shocked it didn't work out this time. Trying products that are a little more expensive. One is $19.99 and the other is $39.99. Both have free shipping worldwide.

Running $5.00/day budgets on both and will run for 3-4 days. Still running website conversion ads. Wanted to note, there is not enough data for a true wc ad so Facebook is optimizing for link clicks till my pixel has enough data.

Also working on my weekly/daily plan on what I will do each day for this store. I am bit OCD so I like to have everything planned like that.

    List is growing nicely.

Need to figure out how to monetize these people as my MailChimp sub cost is growing pretty quickly. Going to let this ad run for 30 days or so to try and see how big I can make my list. Currently sitting at 3007 subscribers.

FB has gained about 80 new likes. IG is still getting close to 5k and not much movement on Twitter.

Been experimenting with some organic ways to grow my FB page that I have found on the forum.

Was able to get some decent organic reach off one post today.

    This plan will include:
    - What I will do on each social media page/how to manage for the week.
    - What I will do with my list each week.
    - What I will do with my store in regards to product testing.
    - What I will do in terms of original content creation to slowly start tapering the auto blog stuff I am using to produce content for the website.

2 Days into my new ad set and nothing still. Been paying quite a bit for clicks ($1-$3 a click) with the wc ads. Switching to PPE for the last day I am testing this ad set to see if I get any better results.

Also for my next ad set I test I think it will go something like this:
    1. PPE ad for 3 days or so - this is the first test to see if it's working. If I end up getting some nice engagement or even a sale on the ad I will move it to the next phase.
    2. WC - Next I will either move it straight to a WC Purchase ad or go to a WTC ATC ad, and if the ATC ad works well, then go the WC P.
    3. Once I have a decent amount of purchases that are happening at a profit. Scale the WC P ad and create another set with a lookalike audience created from those who purchased.

With that being said, I still just need to find an ad set and product that will get past the first phase.

With my next ad/product, I test, I am going to work a lot harder on the creative, copy, and product description.

Hope to get some results soon.

List building ad is still going strong. Add 1000+ people to my list so far.

Still working on how I am going to monetize this list.

I found a bunch of PDFs from Lurn's InboxBluePrint course. If I find them useful I will share them in the members download section, after I make sure it won't break any rules.

I am really just struggling with the direction I am trying to go with this store. I want it to be more than a store as I plan to start creating YouTube content that is centered around a comedic spin on the niche and the news regarding the niche that I will personally be creating/getting on the mic and in front of the camera. I also am trying to take it this direction with list monetization. I don't want to just be pushing products on people all the time. I want it to be a funny mailer that builds a "personal" relationship with the readers and is niche oriented that occasional has an exclusive product deal every once and a while that is related to the topic/content being discussed or shared.

So you want to build a brand?
Are you pushing your "brand" fully?
Do you have a solid primary logo, and complimentary secondary logo?
Do you have a consistent typeface?
Do you have a primary color and 1-4 secondary colors that you focus on?
Do you have guidelines for logo placement, color/shape placement, shape uses, etc?
Do you have a style for presentation(seems you want to go comedic, but you're in fashion tchotchkes. Name a BIG brand that represents in that style, might be a reason)

Do these sorts of things to build your brand, and people will recognize you easier.

Look at a can of coke:
it has "coca cola" in a stylized style(primary logo), in white(primary logo color), the can is a specific shade of red(primary color), then in a different font it has the word "Coke" on it(secondary logo). The dietary information is in silver so as to offset from the White of the coke info.
Now, compare that to how you present your brand, and rework your presentation as needed.

Being recognized as a brand will help you move forward in recognition and get repeat sales.

Nothing with this asd set. Going to kill it in a few hours.

On to the next product. This one I am really going to work on improving the ad copy, image and product description.

Hopefully I'll get some results with the one.

Got my new ad set launched last night before I went to bed. Running a wc view content ad.

So far no sales, but I am getting clicks a lot cheaper than before. Currently paying $0.75/click just a few hours in whereas I used to be paying $2.00-$3.00.

Going to let the ad run for 2 more days. If I get a sale from it, or even if I can get my CPC down to the breakeven cost based on a 1% conversion rate, I will duplicate the ad into a wc atc ad.
