    Hi there,

Been on this forum for a while, and this is my 2nd journey.

I'm relatively unknown in this forum. But I've a decent marketing experience. I've scaled a couple of websites to millions of organic hits and spearheaded paid acquisition to multi-million in ROI.

To me things have been pretty good, and I rarely thought of generating side income and scaling it. I used to be a workoholic, pushing crazy hours per day.

But, now that I've a few hours to spare everyday. I'd be focusing more on utilizing my skills to generate a f** ton of side income. This year, I'll be gearing at gaining $100k, and scaling it to more than $250k by the end of 2020 from consulting work.

I do growth marketing, content marketing and paid acquisition consulting.

I actually started this journey a couple of weeks ago, and this is what I've achieved so far:

    Week 1:
    - Total income: $2,300

    Week 2:
    - Total income: $1,170

    Week 3
    - Total income: $1, 800

    Total made: $5,270

If you wonder why I made less money on the week 2 and week 3? I burned myself by working way too much on week 1. Found out that I need to limit the amount of working hours I was pushing, my hands started hurting, I was frustrated and tired -> That's not a good way to make money.

I figured, I'll go insane if I worked 2 highly demanding jobs at the same time and reduced the amount of work I did in the 2nd week. For the third week, I tried being very smart, became very picky and worked my way through a new methodology to be more productive.

As you can see, to hit my goal of making $100k, I'll fall short of 5 months ($8k/month) and $2k/month for the coming few months. I've a few solutions that I think can take care of this problem, but it is about testing and applying. So, let's see!

What this journey is really about?
This journey isn't about that magical something that'll suddenly make me f***ing rich, it is about perseverance, hard work, saying no to rest, saying no to movies and building relationships that'll keep me going for years to come.

I am not going to quit this, no matter how bad, how hard and how impossible it seems. My motivation is to keep making money for my family - which means everything to me.

    Too ambitious, right?

Nah, look at that 18 yo kid who makes 100times your yearly salary in just a month from IG. That's my inspiration. I've planned a couple more things for myself for the year too, but let's see how well I can incorporate them here.

    Let's hustle!

I wish you all the best. Out of curiosity, what is your main job? Is it similar to what you are doing now or a completely different sector?

    Thanks,

My main job is marketing. I run large scale marketing as an in-house marketer. From time to time, I used to get asked for advice on growth and some consulting gigs, used to turn them down, but now not doing that at all. Cashing on my skills now :)

Ah yes! I had a feeling that's how you got started. So you're essentially branching out and seeking inspiration from your own job. The best way to go really.

Update on earnings for the week:

    Income from regular consulting work:
    - $1,700

Took over another small consulting work that is going to give approx $800/month
Income from the new consulting work this week:
    - $200

    Total income: $1,900

    The challenge:
    1. I've a couple of ideas that are big, and because of the consulting work, I don't find enough time to work on them
    2. I procrastinated a bit, watched movies and other stuff. Wasted a precious time there
    3. Lack of focus on health resulted into one wasted day, otherwise could've been more productive this week too.

    Solution:
    1. I'll establish a routine to work
    2. Designated time to work on other ideas
    3. Run everyday in the morning to gain a better health

Wont say good luck because you don't need it.
You are experienced and you'll meet your goals, but can't see anything I can learn from your journey.

True, there are no "magic tricks" in this journey. I am just a hard working folk, trying to make it big with this one. What this journey would for sure deliver is as a document for motivation and hardwork paying off reliably. I am kind of learning hard work and organization at a whole new level these days. Maybe, that's something that could help BHW hustlers too :)

Also, I am going to start another Ecom jouney soon. Goal is to bank $100k from it, I am planning to start running ads at the start of mid June. If you are into that kind of journeys, maybe you'll find it interesting.

Earning almost $2000 in a week is no joke. Well done! I definitely can relate to the second and third challenge. I procrastinate by worrying about number three. Usually it's all in my head and can be solved by just taking action and doing what I need to do. At least you recognise that and are determined to remediate it.

This week was bad as I struggled from extreme fatigue and sleeplessness. The belief that we are invincible is a wrong one. We aren't !

Without proper planning, you can't succeed.

My earning took a huge blow as I struggle with productivity.

To better organize myself this week, I will:
    1. Use Trello
    2. Divide every day by activity and have fixed intervals for each work to make sure it gets done
    3. Throwaway low ROI work

Total earnings for this week: $500 (fuuuuk!)

Updating this nearly after a month.

If you think I gave up, you were wrong ;)

I took on 3 more clients with higher billable work. Acting now as a marketing strategy consultant for 3 of them, with spending 30-80 hours per month with them. New revenue from them is now $5,100/month - this should last easily till 4-5 months. Which means that I'll add $26,500 in addition to my regular income easily.

From other regular work, my monthly income = $4,600

Total income in June from consulting plus the old work = $9,700

I am perfecting my approach to $100,000

Next, I plan to become a broker and build a supply chain of marketing to delivery. That way I can squeeze in $3k more on autopilot.

That's epic man! I'm so pleased you didn't give up. Any extra info on how you overcame the fatigue issue? Average hours per week you spend on work to prevent burnout?
