    Hello Everyone,

Let me start by saying thank you for all of the great info that you’re all sharing here. I’m new to the forums and I’ve been spending a lot of my time here reading, taking notes, and trying to take in everything that I can from what I’ve read. After reading many of your posts, I’ve finally decided instead of just reading about the many methods to make money online, it was time for me to take action. I’m starting this journal to keep track of my progress and also, like many of other people who started journals, to help me stay motivated!

    A bit about me:

I’ve been trying to get into IM for about 9 months now. So far all of my attempts at different methods haven’t worked out that well, so I’m definitely a noob. I’ve never made anything more than a few dollars a day and even that is inconsistent. I’ve tried my hand at many methods, the most work I put in was monetizing a weight loss blog that actually has a ton of high quality content, that site never took off, it died completely when penguin destroyed all of my SEO work. After that my taste for updating that blog turned sour, but enough about that, on to my new project.

Project: Create & Sell my own product

I’ve been studying the dieting and fitness niche for a really long time for my own personal sake (this is where I got the idea from to start a weight loss blog lol) Over about two years’ time I’ve read, collected, and tried many fitness and diet guides, books, and programs. I’ve already done a lot of keyword research so I’m ready to go with keywords.

    My plan:

    1. Compile the best of the best information that I’ve collected over the years into an E-book package for dieting and weight loss.
    2. Create a simple sales machine (sales pales, affiliate page, download page)
    3. Get some high quality copy for my sales page
    4. Gently SEO the sales letter
    5. Submit my product Clickbank
    6. Try and find affiliates to promote
    7. Send traffic by means of SEO
    8. Send traffic by Adcenter, PoF, and possibly Facebook since I just got an email with a $50 credit for FB ads. I’m also considering trying youtube.
    9. Possibly get some blackhat traffic methods going (adwords vouchers, adcenter vouchers etc)!

I know this sounds really simple since most of you guys reading this are probably pros and making tons of money already lol. For me this will be a big step towards getting a legitimate home business up & running. Also, my e-book will be of really high quality, so I’m not just reselling PLRs. I’m hoping to turn this into an evergreen money source. I’m hoping to start this small and scale up. I’ll be really happy to see even just a few dollars a day come in from this, my goal of course would be $300 or more a day lol.

Tools I Have to Help Me Make This Happen:

    1. A hosting account
    2. OptimizePress (so easy to use, liked it so much I bought it to get the updates lol)
    3. Mega Robot Bomber (just got it, haven’t used it yet, will need to spend some time learning how to use it before I can make much use of it.)
    4. Rapid Rewriter (spinner, easy to use, haven’t tried others so I can’t compare)
    5. Adobe Acrobat 8 (I know its older, but it’s the full licensed version & was free lol)
    6. Market samurai
    7. A decent sized swipe copy file
    8. $100 budget
    9. My Brain!

So to get started, let me just say that I’ll try and update this thread daily, please forgive me ahead of time if I miss a day.

    Day 1:

Today I jumped into this head first. I completed the following:
    · Purchased an EMD
    · Installed Wordpress
    · Installed Optimize Press
    · Created my sales, affiliate, and download page
    · Hired someone on Odesk to create me a graphics package for my site and banners for my affiliates

    Budget $100
    Graphics -$40
    Current Budget: $60 remaining

So today went well, I feel like I got a lot done. Tomorrow will be spent entirely on creating, fine tuning, and polishing my product! I was impressed with the banners and headers the guy I hired has done in the past so I’m excited to see what he comes up with for me. I did give him a few general guidelines, so it should be on target with my ideas.

If anyone has any suggestions please share them!

    Thanks for Reading

Thanks! I got your PM but I can't respond since I don't have 15 posts yet.

If you want to go with Odesk for your graphics person then the best way is to make your posting about exactly what you need. Like for me my posting said I needed a logo, several banners for ads, and a header. I put the exact sizes that I need for each banner. I didn't get into too much detail on my product but did say which niche it was in and I put a few guidlines for what I'd like the color scheme to be. I also set this as a fixed price for $40 because I didn't want to spend too much and at the same time I didn't want to get poor graphics.

Within minutes I had about 25 people apply, it was crazy how fast requests came in lol. So I changed my odesk post to private to stop new applications from coming in. Then I looked over all of the applicants credentials and their portfolios to see their past work. I "shortlisted" 10 of the applicants and hid the rest from my list. I chose the 10 best when it came to skill, and experience (based on their previous work that they showed me). Once I had narrowed it down to 10 I then removed all the applicants who bidded higher then my $40 price that I set. Doing that brought me down to 5 or 6 people left I think.

Once i was down to so few I narrowed it down again, this time to 3 people who showed me previous work that I liked that was related to my niche. At that point I sent them PM's through Odesk to ask them for a skype interview. Two of the 3 responded immediately so I interviewed them and chose one to hire based on his positive responses. Also I should mention I factored in their reviews from previous customers as I was narrowing down my search.

    I hope this helped!

    Day 2:

Hello everyone and thanks for tuning in! I’m still moving along in the right direction.

    What I’ve accomplished today
    :

    · Compiled my product (took me nearly 6 hours with editing, and revisions. I’m making this really high quality)
    · Polished my product and turned it into an E-book using Adobe
    · Spoke with my graphics guy, he showed me his rough drafts of my header and some banners; so far I’m really happy with his work.
    · Began working on my sales copy

I felt like I did so much today, but after seeing it written down on paper in front of me it doesn’t look like it lol. I need to stay positive; I still have a really long way to go before I see any profit from this project. My biggest problem I think is that I give up and try jumping to a different method before I see any real profit from the work I put in. I read somewhere once that half of the IMer’s that fail only fail because they don’t take action, and that the other half fail because they give up too soon, and were most likely only days away from seeing some profit. I’m going to keep that in mind moving forward. I will be successful, I just have to put the work in!

    Day 3:

Thanks for tuning in, I’m still making progress!

    What I’ve gotten done today:

    · Finished writing my sales copy
    · Gently SEO’d the sales letter using my keywords at a 2-3% density; also I integrated them as naturally as possible.
    · Revised my sales letter using two different sales copy methods that I’ve picked up from some really skilled copywriters. The first is called “The 7 Patterns of Persuasion” and the second is called “The Formula for Effective Sales Copy”
    · My graphics guy completed my graphics package and sent it to me along with the source files for future changes.

I’m happy with what I’ve gotten done today. I only had a few hours of free time to put into this project so I think I spent that time really well. When I wrote my sales copy I used a few pieces of swipe and took things that I liked, plus added in my own content from my experiences trying to lose weight and get in shape. I’m sure that my copy will be effective now that I’ve revised it using the two copy techniques I mentioned above. Both techniques are from copywriters that charge thousands for their copy, but I can’t remember the guys names at the moment I got this info months ago lol. I was lucky enough to get access to their recorded webinars through a Facebook group I’m in, I took notes but wish I downloaded them. If you want details on them please let me know I’m more than happy to share my notes.

Tomorrow I’ll spend the day getting my graphics and sales copy up on my site. Then I’ll make sure the site is running 100%, and possibly, if my site is looking good and running properly, submit my product to clickbank to get started!

    Hello.

It's really nice and helpful journey! Thank for that.
But as I understand you have a lot of info and experience about dieting, fitness! You put this all info in one ebook in 6 hours? How it can be a high quality product? In my opinion - to make high quality product you need a lot of time weeks, month. Even to get real testimonials it takes more than that. I'm wrong?

But anyway I'm very interested in your work and If you need affiliate I will be ready to promote your product.

    Good Luck.

    Martin
