This is the first time I've ever created a journey or work journal.

I have done this in the hope that it will make me accountable and to keep pushing when things get hard and i think it will be cool to look back on in future.

I started this project in November but its been very stop and start due to funds and disappointment for how poor it's been so far.

I am building an Amazon affiliate site. I know that the Amazon affiliate rates are on the slide and they are likely to do more so in the future.

But I am going to keep pushing as I imagine if I get the traffic I want I will make enough for a decent wage with ads and affiliate combined.

My domain is an auction domain that I bought from a broker type person for $1500.

It's 10 years old and has 550 referring domains and 3k backlinks. It is clean as far as I am aware and the old niches match well.

I have published 30 articles so far and I'd say the average word count is around 3500 words per article.

I think 1 problem is that all 30 articles are skyscraper review articles. I probably need some non-money content on there.

I probably get around 3-5 visitors a day currently which is poor.

I have not published anything in 1-2 months now as I hit a roadblock in being not sure what to do (I tend to freeze when this happens). But I am going to just get on with it now and see where it takes me.

I have not built 1 backlink and tbh I don't think I am planning on doing so.

Sorry if this is long-winded its just I wanted to paint a decent picture of where I am at.

It would be great if some of you guys would follow my journey :)

I've just done my first work on the site in a while.

I have just removed the physical silo from the website and will instead just have a virtual silo. Redirected all pages to the new urls.

I have done this because it looks like the big G has moved some sites with no physical silo upwards in the SERPs.

Are you writing yourself or ordering content from the sellers here?

Thanks man and i will do :)

I am paying writers but they are not from this forum.

According to ahrefs i'm ranking for 200 keywords across a number of countries.

I started ranking within say 5-10 articles being published but then it grinded to a halt (this is one reason i froze and the project stalled).

I get around 3-5 visitors per day.

    1. Are you sure that your domain is clean? Check how much links are pointed to the homepage.
    2. Keyword difficulty and niche
    3. Pick then one article closest to top10 position and write 3-5 support articles pointed to.. Wait one month and check results.

    1. Roughly 300 RD and 1000 backlinks at the homepage. I think so because i bought it via someone off this forum who has a very solid reputation and is known to be super knowledgable in SEO. He sold it and gave the thumbs up so i think so yes.

    2. Electronics is the niche and the keywords are not super hard. They are all "best" type keywords but when i look at the keywords in the top 10 serps its fillled with mostly affiliates like myself.

    3. I do have a page or 2 that big G likes and a handful of keywords at the bottom of page 1. So i will give this a go thanks.

    Really a tough niche targeted.

But consider the domain power, this should be an interesting case, give it enough time, and good luck.

I had an article that i had written around 2 months ago now that i've not published.

I've just finally published it now. 3200 words of solid content of 5 products reviewed.

I have just touched up a couple of pages of content.

Changed up some title tags, H1s and H2s. I did this because they are too alike from page to page.

Ordered a piece of new content from an awesome writer that I hire. Hoping to have that to publish soon.

Still editing some pages, title tags, H1s and H2s.

I am debating killing all the redirects from old pages to the homepage also.

Maybe this will make the website look more natural to big G.

    $20 per 1000 words.
