Hello everyone. I'm starting this journey as a way to keep a record of what I'm doing and hold myself accountable.

I'm quite new to the IM business, however, I've spent the last year and a half reading about copywrite, land pages, digital marketing, etc. My computer skills are quite extensive as I've coded before, did some pages in the past (back when the IM marketing was easier... :/) but due to lack of consistency I never generated anything.

So far this is what I've done:

    • Created a blog on my niche (blog posts, around 9), added the social sharing buttons, the e-mail opt-in popup and ads to a t-shirt site where I get 35% of the product sale.
    • Created a squeeze page on the index of my blog, created thank-you page (with the T-Shirts, and a "Like us on facebook" thingie).
    • Created the Instagram page (so far, 300 followers)
    • Created the tumblr blog (so far, 67 followers)
    • Created the pinterest account (0 followers, I'm not really good with pinterest).
    • Created the Facebook page (so far, 90 likes, with 1-2 pictures scheduled everyday)
    • Created autoresponder (so far, 1 month filled with mails, spaced over 2-4 days each e-mail)
    • Joined niche-related groups with a fake aged account where I'm posting the articles and commenting the pics/posts others make. (Around 20)
    • Created the product I'll be selling.

The first days I tried to get subscribers using facebook ads (I'm not so bad at them and can get low cost per engagement (around $0.08 per engagement)) so far, I've got 10 subscribers on my mailing list at $2 per subscriber. I think the squeeze page is not so good with my niche.

That's when I started to join the groups and post the articles which brought me 6 other subscribers so far.

Instagram hasn't worked on attracting people to the website but I'm positive that after I hit 1,000-2,000 followers, things will start to get better.

I'm thinking on doing facebook ads again but focusing on the articles as they seem to resonate more with my audience, as well as adding more blog posts to have more content to choose from.

    Things on my TODO list:
    • Create niche store with amazon affiliate products.
    • Create reviews of the products and add them to my blog.

    Second day:

I posted one of the controversial articles into reddit and was flagged as spam due to the amazon products appearing at the end of the post.
I also continued adding users related to my niche on tumblr, so far 92 users following me back.
Continued liking pics on instagram (326 followers)
Added site to StumbleUpon (now getting some visits from there as well)

Yesterday I had 165 unique users visiting the page
    Today 200

2 new persons added to the mailing list (18 so far, but with a low opening rate)

    Good luck with your journey.
It is interesting as you are using combination of platforms.
Would you recommend some good sources to improve in term of copywriting and land page?

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

    Good luck on your journey!
I'm also new to the IM world and have been doing some things after reading a lot, so far I have not had any good economical results, but hey, I'll keep on trying.

Thanks, I would recommend reading the articles from the copyblogger blog. They are quite good.

    ---------------

    Day 3:

3 more new subscribers to the mailing list. (total of 21)
Instagram followers: 345. I keep liking pics throughout the day whenever I'm idling (or waiting for a page to load, or at the toilet) and posting one new pic.
    Tumblr followers: 143
Still, 0 followers on Pinterest (haven't updated it yet)
Only 73 views on the website
Facebook likes: 95 (haven't promoted it a lot)

I'm working on improving the squeeze page by adding a video. It will probably be done by Monday and we'll see the results.

Things that I still need to do:
    Video for squeeze page
    Reviews for products
    Store with affiliate links
Add a couple more of informative articles.

    Day 4:

Today I earned a new subscriber (total of 22)
    Instagram followers: 382
    Tumblr followers: 178
Pinterest: 0 (haven't updated it, need to catch up on that)
Facebook likes: 95 (haven't updated it as well)
Only 17 users on the website (I stopped the ads as I'm working on a better copy for the squeeze page)

Today I started setting up the amazon affiliate store for my niche. Found some interesting ideas for subniches that I'll be working on.
I also registered into several forums related to my niche to start ageing the accounts and follow some ideas from meathead's strategy (can't post links yet, so look for it in the forum)

Things I still need to do:
Video for the squeeze page (working on the dialogue script)
Create Ebay, CJ accounts to add products to the store.
Fill out the store with products
Write some reviews for the products and link them to amazon.
Add a couple more of informative articles
Design a couple more t-shirts in order to earn artist commision and perhaps affiliate commision.

Hey guys, thanks for your support and good vibes.

    Day 5:

Subscribers on the list: 23 (1 more today)

Instagram followers: 421 (I'm liking people's post on my niche, trying to stick to English-speakers only, leaving comments every now and then and following those who like many of my pics)

Tumblr followers: 229 (I kept following more people on tumblr related to my niche, although I've read that its better to just post many pictures/texts a day and tag them correctly, what do you think?)

Facebook: 95 (still baffled on how to grow this number without paying for likes on facebook ads)

Website views: 14 (hope my articles start ranking. What do you think of Article Rewriter? It seems to not spin anything and just rewrites articles by using Unicode look-alike characters, does this work?)
I'm starting to see some organic traffic since the last couple of days (3 organic views so far)

Pinterest: 0 (haven't done anything here, any good strategy you can recommend me? Just follow people/boards and keep pinning?)

What else did I do today?
I added more items to the Amazon Affiliate Store
Wrote 1 review article on one of the newest products on the market
Added another informative article with some affiliate links inside and promoted on some of the FB groups I'm in.

What else needs to be done?
Video for the squeeze page and finish the script for the dialogue.
Create the Ebay & CJ Accounts
Write more reviews on new products
    Write more informative articles
Design a couple of t-shirts to add to the website & shirt site I'm working with.

    Day 6:

    No new subscribers today
    Instagram followers: 442
    Tumblr followers: 253

Today was a slow day, basically I've read a lot about backlinking and creating Web 2.0 websites in order to do Tier 1/Tier 2 backlinks.
Downloaded a couple of tools to help me with my quest, but I still need to learn more about it.

    Day 7:

    Change of route:
After talking with one of the mods in the irc channel, I found that my strategy might not be the best for this type of blog as my niche was too wide. I'm narrowing the niche and working on reviews to rank with Amazon.

Still, I'll be working on the Instagram and Tumblr as ways to gain exposure in the future.

Instagram followers: 473 (using a bot now)
Tumblr followers: 278 (over 100 reblogs of posts today, so that is increasing quite a bit)

Have been busy the last 2 days and couldn't update.

After changing the strategy a bit, I found that I'm starting to get organic views on my low competition keywords.

I also installed Yoast and started to work on the SEO of my reviews.
So far I've got 5 reviews (trying to increase it to 3-4 per day or even more).

Tumblr keeps growing and I get a consistent amount of reblogs everyday. Instagram keeps growing although at a slower pace.

    Numbers so far:
96 likes in the Facebook page (tried to do some viral images that worked but didn't translate into likes to the page).
24 subscribers in the mailing list.
    327 followers in Tumblr
    548 followers in Instagram

I still need to become an active member of the forums on my niche in order to redirect them to my webpage when questions arise.

I also need to register on Twitter to start following my niche and engage in conversations.
