This maybe a little early for this or maybe not... but I thought I'd get some opinions while offering some predictions!! For any of you who want to start stocking up, for some re-selling :-) I stocked up last year but only made coin on 1/4 of the items I had and either even out or lost with the rest!! eBay and amazon are the best place to price gauge, alot of people willing to pay triple the price to not have to wait for an item... I did that once for the XBOX 360, but never again :p Oh, and was it just me, or did Black Friday SUCK last year??

Here's My Hot Item Prediction List for this Christmas:

Iphones
G1 (tmobile)
Elmo Live
Wii Fit
Fur Real Biscuit
Kid Tough Dvd Player & Camera
Bakugan Toys
Dark Knight/Indiana Jones Toys
Hot Wheels & Barbie Toys
PS3
Ipods

Oh yeah, and Toys R Us has their 2008 Hot Toy List up and Walmart & KB are offering certain popular toys for $10 but for a very limited time!! Hope that helps... what do you guys think?? BlackHat Rulezzzzzzz!!

Find a good dropshipper with a solid reputation that sells the products above. This way you do not have to purchase any existing stock to keep. Made quite a few bucks with this.

Adults always spend lavishly on children. So all toys or games are also doable.

Will Mother Hubbard go to the cupboard this year... and see it is most bare?

In other words: what money or credit will people use to buy the crap you've sourced to offer them? No matter how long little Johnny actually manages to hold his breath for?
Will this 'boom' year strategy fail in this 'crunch' year?

Parents will always try and find money for their kids at Christmas. They may not spend as much overall but those 'special' presents will be obtained 99% of the time. And, yes, the current state of the world economies isn't helping - but it won't stop parents buying.

Somehow christmas time is a time that prevails for spending regardless of economics. However, it maybe good to not just target the US this year.

If you can ship it - you can ship it anywhere. (I get really p****d off with vendors in the US who won't ship to Europe, for example).

But there may be certain countries that you might want to avoid - Nigeria, Latvia, Russia.... :)

the UK and EU aren't as badly hit as the US, so it might be worth targetting them more?

i for one would look at germany and the UK to market to, and look at all 3 consoles (especially the 360 as ms have just reduced the price in the run up to xmas ...)

but alas, i don't have a dropshippeers list, nevermind 'eh :p

PS: Phil, welcome to Jr. VIP! Nice To Have You Aboard!

Where HAVE you been? The UK, Germany, Iceland, Belgium have all had banks go under. In the UK the farting around of the Labour Govt. hasn't helped at all.

Ignore share prices - they don't matter to the man in the street except for investment / pension purposes. The real big problem now is the general economy. In the case of the UK it's shaky - mainly because we are not tied in to the Euro. Until the banks start lending again we'll not see confidence from consumers to go out and buy and retailers here are screaming about drops in sales already. And because we don't buy the producers cut back - which usually mean cutting jobs - which leaves less money to spend......

Thank you - I'm basking in a warm rosy glow :yield:
