Very few, 5 manual links over 12 months. This is income school / kikerinka approach, basically no links, just content.

All those $25.000 a month thread are scary and probably feel impossible to reach for most people reading them.
This one has a small goal of $500 a month and someone doing, well, blogging.
Keep it up, I'm following you and also find a lot of resemblance to my journey.

Update:
I'm in the process of migrating both my websites to a new host. Almost finished moving the first blog. Every time I move to a different host there's a tiny difference that makes it a pain. I'd stick to the previous host, but I wanted to get a local host, since it's a local blog duuuuh.
I decided to give Ezoic another try, especially for blog 2, which grows in traffic but doesn't have much monetization options, nor can I get other traffic sources (fb) other than organic, since the niche is so tiny.
Blog 1 isn't doing great on the affiliate side, while pumping traffic with fb shares doesn't convert. Hence, I shall submit it to Ezoic once again. Even if I make just $10-$20 per month from organic traffic that's better than nothing. AND.. fb traffic will DEFINTELY increase ad revenue (compared to increasing affiliate revenue).
So, I'm thinking of creating a nice daily routine for blog 1, to revive it. Say, everyday I post an article and I share it on FB (usually, I share once or twice a month).

Niche-related local fb groups. I'm not growing a fan page nor a group, there's a few established ones already and I think it will take ages to grow a new group from scratch when people have alternatives.
I posted stats 2 weeks ago and not much has changed since. I'll post updated stats at the end of the month.
Even if you're still learning and it's too soon, try to write some pieces of content for later, trust me, it'll make a difference when you start. You'll always need more content.

Ezoic is still in review. I'll only mention it again when earnings start rolling in (or if they deny the application).

Pushed the newest article from blog 1 on fb. Only got approved on one group but that brought me 200 extra visitors.
This fb traffic isn't converting yet. But even if I don't have ezoic ads yet, I'm sure a small fraction of the visitors will convert later, from a postponed affiliate sale, or at least they'll subscribe to the newsletter.

It should be more than 2 per week, not set in stone.
I had Adsense, but now I'm onboarding ezoic.
Afaik buying links is a double edged sword.

The page speed score goes from 80-90 to 50, but from POV of visitors it still loads fast. Same happens with adsense, score goes to 40-50, so no biggie.
The big issue I mentioned earlier in this thread is about the wp dashboard. It becomes unusable when adding ezoic, but depending on the host, it can be solved, otherwise gotta change the hosting.
There is an option to use free hosting provided by ezoic, but don't know how good it is.

In the meantime I wrote 2 more articles (2k words total) one for each blog.
I didn't rush to post this update, because earnings have been slim to none, so not very happy about it, but I think in August things will get better.
Here's the GSC traffic:
This is more GSC data for blog 2, so I can compare with last time, when clicks where 2.4K, impressions 14K and avg position 8.5, so definitely blog 2 is doing great atm.
I just monetized blog 2 at the end of July, so it brought a whooping $1.88 with ezoic ads. That's over a few days and ezoic revenue is supposed to improve over time using AI, so let's see what happens by the end of this month.
I also wanted to show you an ezoic screenshot but analytics page returns error 500 for some reason, so maybe another time.
JULY: $5.06 ($1.88 Ezoic, $3.18 affiliate)
JUNE: $41.13 ($3.28 Adsense, $37.85 affiliate)

Different sites. I'll specify from now on.
Blog 1 has a bunch of affiliate links, but since traffic dropped it barely converts.
While blog 2 is not as good for affiliates (or I haven't found a suitable affiliate offer yet) so I'm monetizing it with ezoic ads.
