I did a website for a barber shop. They asked for seo saying they had $300 to spend on it. What should I offer them?

I was thinking onsite, directory submissions, maybe a few blog articles.

    What do you think?

lmao, when was the last time you looked up articles on a barber in your area, and thought, "hey that sounds like a great place to get my haircut" i'm going there!

Ask him to ask where most of his customers come from and its probably referal, or just passing. Facebook is really the only way to reach them with a barber site. Maybe even a poster in the shop that says 20% off if you like us on facebook.

Don't tell them you did X number of backlinks to their website. They might not be as happy as may want them to be. Provide them some value.

    1. Guest Blog Posts on similar niche website to promote their services
    2. Optimize their local Google Maps rankings to drive more customers their way (I know 300$ is very low budget for this but do 25% of it, show them improvement in their rankings and then tell them if they can spend more you will get them even on page 1)

My point is, provide the value for their money and not some statistics like 100 directory submissions, 500 Article Submission, 10K Scrapebox blastetc. Ofcourse, you do need backlinks for ranking but I am sure you get my point.

They are mobile. No shop. They have regular customers but want an online presence.

Sorry I probably should have mentioned that.

try doing something that makes them profile. then in next month, tell them that if they dont continue seo then rank may go down. They will also realize that spending money was a good thing. U should also say that to them.
For $300, i would advice this
    1. No tier 1 bookmark, no tier 1 web2.0 naaah
    2. build a facebook fan page, twitter. put some infographs on their site. Submit infograph to big sites (u can find people on fiverr for both stuffs). Put your best in sending them traffic thru this infograph.
    3. Buy some guest posts on legit blogs.

#1 Get them listed in google places (even if they are a mobile outfit) use a UPS adress if they don't want to use a personal home address.
    #2 Set up Facebook Fanpage
#3 Get them listed in Manta, Yelp, CitySearch, and any local business directories for your city/town.

That's $300 well spent, and you have solid work to show for it,

not promises of rankings and organic traffic weeks down the line.

Definitely recommend guest posts. They provide quality links, although it's an expensive thing to offer.

Someone said a facebook fan page! Great idea.
Also maybe you should convert there site into an phone app, so customers could make chair reservations or whatever through the app ?
I have seen that from some restaurants, and im sure you can get that done in fiverr or some shit.. Your barber should be happy with that, im thinking..
If you or him are still on the fence, then write a few reviews and put online and link them to his fan page ;-)
