Hey all, I'm starting this thread to keep track of my goals and progress, also for some motivation and advice.

I have been reading on BHW for about 7 months with a few different ventures but this will be my first attempt in something I am actually interested in as I would like to write a book someday

My short term goals are to build up my writing skills by freelancing while making enough money to quit my job and fund my martial arts training and travels abroad. Eventually I would like to find an actual writing job and also build up some passive income but right now I am just trying to focus on perfecting the craft. I have switched my work schedule to allocate time for this and am planning on starting this Journey on Monday,

Planned daily schedule starting out (Planning to ramp up once I get the ball rolling):
1 Ad Revenue post per day (Hub, Bubblews, Squidoo lens, etc. I will test each one starting out)
2 Paid Articles per day from a decent paying site (Currently searching for the right website to start with, hoping to get above $5 per article as I am a native English speaker)
    1 Blog Post.

Motivation on conquering resistance from 'The War of Art' by Steven Pressfield
?Fear doesn't go away. The warrior and the artist live by the same code of necessity, which dictates that the battle must be fought anew every day.?
?Someone once asked Somerset Maughham if he wrote on a schedule or only when struck by inspiration. "I write only when inspiration strikes," he replied. "Fortunately it strikes every morning at nine o'clock sharp.?
?The professional has learned that success, like happiness, comes as a by-product of work. The professional concentrates on the work and allows rewards to come or not come, whatever they like.?
?Our job in this lifetime is not to shape ourselves into some ideal we imagine we ought to be, but to find out who we already are and become it.?
?Resistance will tell you anything to keep you from doing your work.?
?The professional arms himself with patience, not only to give the stars time to align in his career, but to keep himself from flaming out in each individual work.?

Any advice, comments, questions and criticisms welcome. Thanks in advance BHW

Good luck man. I am confident you will succeed. I'm on a similar journey myself and you can check out my thread on this forum. If you think it would be cool to connect and discuss our journeys shoot me a message.

Day 1. Off to a rough start as I had a few unplanned things come up today and spent too much time browsing for the perfect site to start submitting articles to. I didn't get to everything I was planning on, but tomorrow will be a better day.

Spent a lot of time creating a compelling profile on Elance and applied for a few jobs.
Submitted 1 Constant Content Article priced at $25.

tomorrow I am planning on putting up a gig on Fiverr, creating an odesk profile, and getting started with Squidoo or Hubpages - I may do a research article and try to link it to Amazon or CB product to see if I can generate some aff. sales.

Good luck with your journey. Since you're a native speaker, you could sell your articles here. Have you thought about it? :)

    Day 2.
Trying not to overwhelm myself by spreading myself too thin. I just want to get started writing and not have to deal with all the other stuff lol. I am excited about getting the ball rolling and finding some projects.
Created an oDesk and freelancer profile
Created 1 Squidoo Lens and 1 Hub
Created one fiverr gig, I will check the stats in a day or two and see if I need to optimize it to get more views.

Trying to take it one day at a time. I may also try posting in the hiring section on BHW and other forums (thanks driulis) for some potential jobs in the coming days. I am dissapointed with the lack of quality work on elance but I will keep looking.

It's been a few days and I've been staying pretty busy. Started a blog and applied to textbroker, constant content, and bka. I have also started working on an ebook. I have learned a lot just by applying to these places so far. I wasn't happy with the sample I provided for cc, but the tb and bka ones were pretty solid so hoping to hear back about one of my apps tomorrow. I'm really tired today so thats all for now.
