I have done much reading on this website and have decided to test the water with a small IM venture (this is to be done in my sparetime alongside my normal business).

I have got as far as keyword research and have chosen 5 keywords/phrases and purchased domains.
I am currently searching for content and downloading relevant articles to spin or re-write, im not sure whether it will follow a blog format or regular website format , any ideas which is best for IM ?

I believe that 2/3 of the 5 keywords will be relatively easy to rank for and the other 2 will take a bit more effort to achieve good rankings.
I will use AMR to build the main links and maybe outsource some social bookmarking / blog comments / forum profile links on top of this as i do not yet have the spare funds to buy the software or yet have the knowledge to know how to use in the correct way.

I am going to most probably use wordpress to build the sites (i still have yet to learn it but it has loads of tutorials so am confident i can get up to speed pretty quickly).

I will initially monetize the sites with adsense and then once i begin to get a sensible amount of traffic will use affiliate links to hopefully bring in some decent money (i am looking at 25-40% commision on each product with commision on repeat orders).

Can someone please advise if i am on the right track ?

When you started out roughly how long on average would it take you to put a site/blog together ?

which format tends to work/monetize better blog / information type site / review type site ?

Any other advice in general would also be appreciated.

sorry if these questions have been asked before, i have been searching within the forum for answers but would like some more specific advice.

    thanks in advance
    J

For IM overall, it doesn't matter. Different tools with different options/benefits.

Yep, don't overthink it, just put it together and go with it.

I wouldn't worry too much about making money yet. It is going to take time and if you expect it, you will be disappointed.

Don't worry about best this, best that, etc. Just do it. Different tools have pros and cons, don't try to figure it all out, it is more important to just start producing.

Let your goal be to build a nice looking, good content site that is easy to use. Be satisfied that this site is your learning ground and may never make money. That should be ok.

Im not expecting to make fortunes but i see potential. I have read a lot here but have chose not to over read as i think this could become a distraction to my achieving my goal, i am heeding the advice i see on many posts "take action" or as you (and nike) say "just do it".

I dont expect to make any money (probably pennies) with adsense and don't expect IM to magically change my life but i see it as a challenge.

If i don't try i won't know, failure won't break me, it will give me the experience i need to succeed.

    Don't overthink it.

    Just do it.

Too many people get caught up in
the research phase and never do anything.

    Just take some action today.

1- Find a technique that suits your personal interest.
2- Try it out, tweak it, give it a few weeks.
3- Once you earn $, scale it up. A buck a day from one project means $100 a day for 100
4- DONT GIVE UP AND DONT TRY SEVERAL TECHNIQUES AT THE SAME TIME WHEN STARTING OUT
