    Hey everyone, Well I figured I would give this a shot. Heres my first new contribution to this forum. I will walk you through step by step how to download the flv file(flash player video) of said video. This most likely is geared toward n00bs of the forum.

    just go to the website that has videos like yt.

    Right click outside of the video and click on view source.

    Look for code that may or may not be similar to the below.

    Code:
        <div class="video">
    		<p id="player1" style="margin-top:0px"><a href="">Get the Flash Player</a> to see this player.</p>
    		<script type="text/javascript">
    			var FO = {	movie:"/swf/flvplayer.swf",width:"640",height:"480",majorversion:"7",build:"0",bgcolor:"#FFFFFF",allowfullscreen:"true",
    				flashvars:"file=/uploads/D01.flv&image=/uploads/D01.jpg" };
    			UFO.create(	FO, "player1");
    		</script>
    	</div>

    Keep in mind that this is just an example and that you will have to adapt this to the situation you are in.

    In this case look for the area that says something like flashvars:"file=...

    The /uploads/file.flv is what we are looking for. Just use the domain name along with the directory and file name(s) and there you go. Thats how to pull flvs from the website.

    I think we can afford to cut the newbie a break. We have all been new here at one time or another, and hey, he tried to share which is great!

    php there are tons of much easier methods already available to snag flash videos from pages. One would be video download helper, a plugin for firefox. You just hit the button and it automatically grabs the video for you. Another is keepvid..a free site that allows you to just type in the url of the flash and it gets it for you.

    I know there are lots of others out there, but can't think of em off the top of my head.

    Thanks for trying to share though. Do some reading, you'll see that there's lots here that will make life simple =)

    Thanks everyone though this was geared toward the noobs hence the below text.

    Thanks everyone. Technically the title is relevant not to mention that the 30 seconds it took to read over it is not going to pull you away too much from your work.
    I do read through these forums and have read quite a bit. Was just a post to get things started for future posts. Everyone's gotta start somewhere.

    Lol. This probably won't help anyone here make money. Thanks for the thought though I didn't know that.

    Thanked.

    @seo20 For saving images just right click on an image and hit save image as.

    Now another method that I am not sure if this has been mentioned on here before(I am sure it has though) Open the page in firefox right click anywhere on the page and click on view page info. Click on media and then on what ever you want to save and click save as. Hope this helps anyone new to the method...

    I agree. It definitely will help in the long run. This is how I started out; letting applications and plug-ins do the sh*t for me. But eventually I had to get off of my *ss and try to decipher and understand how things work. I'm still nowhere near to being an expert, though. lol! Long ways to go..!

    Cheers to the OP; and keep that nice little attitude. It's better to have shared and get *cough* flamed than never to have shared at all, eh?

    Why not? its pointless doing everything manually when a program can do it for you?

    Well that is at least how I have gotten to the point that I am at now. I'd rather know how access these certain things to get a better understanding of how people structure their sites as well as how to get around any perceived protection they have in the event that plug-ins or programs can't access them. Just personal preference.

    I think this is great info. I now have so much junk on my computer thanks to this place that it is sometimes much faster to know how to do something manually than to spend an hour looking for the right program.

    cauz understanding how these things work can lead to other ideas for other projects, I am sure this has helped someone in one way or another. Don't flame someone because they decide to share, just because the post doesn't seem relevant to you doesn't mean it isn't to other people. this forums about sharing, whether the content is a little helpful or alot.

    Thank you for the Share. Its appreciated
