Step 2: Contact vendor for a review copy, and check the vendor's response time
Step 3: If vendor doesn't respond within two days, go back to step 1
If vendor responds within two days, go to step 4
As a vendor who has wasted more than his fair share of time on affiliates asking for review copies, I will say this.
When you contact them, explain in detail how you are going to promote their product, which angles you are going to use and why you are choosing/considering their product in the first place.
Vendors can usually tell which affiliates will make them money and which are a waste of time from that first email.
Put some thought into it. Don't just say:
"Wanna promote your product to make some moniez, gimme a review copy for free!"
That won't get a response.
Saying "I am going to target xyz demographic by doing xyz on xyz platforms, using the xyz angle to create xyz emotions. If you were to send me a review copy I could target these xyz section of people much better, as I would have a much more detailed understanding of your product" will get a reply very, very quickly - from almost any CB vendor worth his (or her) salt.
At least it would with me, the first guy saying "wanna make moniez by selling your product" I'd ignore.
