My First Affiliate Journey

Update -> August 22nd - September 10th, 2022​

I know I've been inconsistent with updating here; well this is the progress for the last 18 days. Things are moving steadily, though.

Site One

My #1 site or should I say the site I started this journey for has been going well; with an average of 150 daily sessions, I decided to get into the Ezoic ads system again. (Meanwhile, the 10k PV minimum has been relaxed)

Around November last year, I tried joining but couldn't since they were incompatible with Namecheap shared hosting. My initial plan was to get a cloud server at $12 per month or so (Digital Ocean), but on speaking with Ezoic, they said they've resolved with Namecheap.

So, I integrated Ezoic to my site, on Adsense I was making an average of $0.2 per day; on Ezoic, which I joined like five days ago, I've had an average of $1, pretty small, I know, but that's some high-grade update, and they claim it'll get better.

Meanwhile, the speed issues typically associated with Ezoic are still there, although I seem to pass the Core Web Vital cut-off mark.

Due to that setback that the core update penalty caused, making me miss a whole month, I need to work twice this month to close in on the months I missed out. My site is a bit seasonally niched, and it is best suited for the winter period.

Update September 10th, 2022 - September 23rd, 2022

So far, I've been a bit unstable with writing cause of some personal developments, and I should dish out up to four articles per day next week to makeup.

PBN!!​

I recently rented PBNs from @tiiberius. I went for his Spino package, and this service, the first time I'm getting PBNS, hasn't been delivered yet, but I'm looking forward to that. -> Here, I targeted specific KWs and a two to my homepage.

I also got some links from Amazon from @RandomX, this service. -> Here, I targeted my homepage as it's the only way.

And I partook in the free review copies of PBNs from @BuY PBN LinKs this service. -> Here, I targeted two kws.

Let's see how this goes.

Ezoic​

Ezoic again disappoints me, not with earnings; they are killing that, but speed speed speed!! My site isn't an authority site, so, I don't joke with those metrics; I mean the Core Web Vitals and the on-page/Technical SEO part of my site.

Ezoic Leap doesn't work with WP Rocket. To use this feature, you have to integrate via their nameservers; I've done that, but my speed on all major speed test tools is still disappointing; the so-called LEAP doesn't help.

In fact, I had the LCP issue while my traffic dropped; traffic and positions dropped, but impressions stayed up; I then disabled Ezoic and pushed, and my traffic increased again; all these happened in a week... Hmm.

Well, I'll try to allow their Nameservers and use WP rocket, hoping my speed wouldn't affect my traffic...

Even my GA reports a monstrous decrease in site speed.

I'll watch things closely; the slightest drop in traffic again, and I'm off Ezoic for good this time; I wanted us to work.

Niche Edit​

A reputable site reached out to me for link insertion, and I did that at $70. I was in dire need of that cash, and I don't know if I'll keep doing this again, but for now... We'Weod!

By God's grace, I should get pretty busy next week... This week, I rest.

September 23rd, 2022 - October 14th, 2022

I'm making this update from my phone, I'll type a bit longer but with so much errors and probably less images.

Between my last update and now, I have added 17 more articles, I've done more updating old ones that writing new ones. This is way below my plans, but we good.

I've also seen a dramatic increase in traffic and earnings.

In my last screenshots, it was 2k+ visit per week, in the last 14 days I've had four thousand visits.

My Ezoic Problem + New Host

I was still battling with Ezoic and their toll on speed, so I moved from Namecheap Stellar shared hosting to Cloudways Vultr at $14 per month.

I did that with the hopes that I'll integrate Ezoic properly and earn, but I had to take off Ezoic.

Now, I've turned on and off Ezoic three times between September 04th and October 8th.

And all three times I did, my traffic dropped, I am not even joking.

Immediately after I turn off Ezoic, the traffic starts climbing, that was crazy I gotta admit.



(The last three drops was almost immediately after I turn on Ezoic)

However, I might give them a shot next year January when affilaite earnings are low with the hopes that we could work. Between September and 8th October I made somewhere around $37 - they are good, I gotta admit.

I'll join them again in Q1 if I don't meet the 50k PV for Medivine, in fact that's what drives me currently, the goal of reaching 50kPV per month... THAT WOULD BE GLORIOUS!!

My Amazon Earnings

Earnings on Amz has shot up this month, this is partly due to more traffic and a certain bonus like that, I can't go into details as I'm under a so called NDA.

In the last two weeks, I've made over a $100 which is a first NGL.

MY impressions are up, up, up so are my clicks.

Yesterday I recorded the second or fourth highest visit ever with 368 clicks according to GA4. I really hopes this continues.



Plans for the week

If you've been following this journey, you'll know I started an aggressive content push in April, indepth KW research, internal linking etc.

I recently realized that 90% of my recent growth are from articles written after the content push and I have a theory.

Around July, I had pushed out about 90 articles in three months, and from my observation, it takes Google three months before they can place an article properly on their SERP.

I was stuck by an update in July, probably the May update, my believe or theory is that it happened because of the older articles on my site before that content push and despite overcoming the algorithm attacks, articles from way way back aren't giving me any traffic, sooooooo

I plan on rewriting all of those articles in the next two weeks, I should start tomorrow after uploading two more articles today.

Things seem to be going well so far and I wish it continues.

Adsense

Of course Adsnese earnings are shitty, but I've earned just $14 from there this month. I suggest you give Multiplex ad format a chance and don't forget to turn on First Party Cookie.

Site 2

My second site has garnered 10k impressions with over a hundred clicks, I plan on adding at least one article per week here, then from next year, I'll either employ a writer or I turn all my guns and face this site.

October 14th, 2022 - 23rd, October 2022

Woah!! This week has been awesome or should I say the last few days.

uhmm, for the last seven days I focused on rewriting some pretty old content, I did a few but a lot came up that distracted me, positive things though.

- My traffic has been stable, kind of a bit high.
- I had my highest-ever Amz earnings (so far) in one day.

Plan for the next week

I got motivated by this post on FB, it's nothing new, but moving forward I'll be going for zero-sum keywords, I mean keywords with zero searches per month and zero (3) allintittle Google search operator.

In fact, the post giving me my HIGHEST ever visits shows "zero search volume" on Semrush and Ahref.

I bought a Semrush group buy, (Ahref is available but expensive, I'll use it for my second site) then I've dug up about 20 zero SV kws I'll target this week, I've curated the content and I should write.



The most intriguing part about this Facebook post is, the articles are barely up to 300 words according to what I read in the comment section.

This would be my #1 go-to KW research for my personal projects.

Congrats on $150 day, and everything . Considering that you almost abandoned this website at one point (when it was hit badly by an update), this is a big success. And holiday period is coming up, which is great for your niche , and I have no doubt even a bigger days (in terms of earnings) are coming.

Good luck and never give up bro no matter what .Get a job and work hard in your free time and if you are consistent working even 1 hour each day ,in 1 year you will be able to quit your job

Summary of the Week

Things have been going well and I pray it keeps getting better, I had my highest traffic this year in this week.

I wasn't able to dish out the 20 pieces of content I curated, a lot came up, positive though!! So just 13 then.

Plans for the Week​

I MIGHT be pretty occupied this week so I won't curate many articles for the week, however, I plan on rewriting a truckload of articles, I prefer rewriting to publishing new articles.

Some of the articles I rewrote have had a slight improvement and I believe if I edit some more I might rank. I'll try to edit at least four articles per day. My site is predominantly an affiliate site, with 100/100 affiliate articles.

I'll start sharing the random articles I read here. This would officially be my SEO journey diary.

And I've been doing some readings on Semantic SEO.

I don't plan on doing SEO professionally, in fact I've been taking this site seriously so I don't ever have to work for anybody.

So far it's been going pretty well.
Nevertheless, my plans for January by God's grace is to have at least three active sites in my portfolio.

While the main site in this journey would remain my main site, something that would become an Authority site pretty soon, I'll be floating out others more like sub-niche of this specific niche.

I already have them in my head.

So, I plan on understanding this so called Semantic SEO and Topic Clustering.

These two seem to be the hottest cake in SEO these days.

Meanwhile, I still have some great KWs to write on, I can give myself credit to how good my KW research has been, I mean since the content push of 25th April, all my ranking pages, 95% of them have been from how I went about my KW research this year.

So, I will still do the zero kws, this week might be overly busy for me, nevertheless, I might get rid of all distractions (social media) and try something upper week.

I'll fish out my top ranking pages or KWs with high SV and link every related article to it.

The links must be from the first quarter of any article I'll be linking from.

Prior to now, I just accept whatever Link Whisper suggested, they do a great job but mehn!!!! Nothing beats manual work.

So, I'll keep researching....

I feel every SEOater should really, really, really read on Semantic SEO, the link I shared above has an encyclopedia on that.

29th, October 2022 - 5th November, 2022​

Summary of the week

So, I installed an extension on my browser(s) to stop me from accessing my GA and my Amazon page so i stop wasting time watching my progress. My initial plan was to keep it off for the whole month, but man, I just couldn't so I'll discipline myself to only open it once a week when I want to update this thread.

For last week, I was pretty busy, nevertheless, all I did was edit some content and ensure everything was 100% plagiarism free, added more subtopics after getting clues from my GSC. I mainly focused on the pages that brought me the most traffic last year + those showing a potential of life.

I also did some aggressive internal linking. Let's see the screenshots.
