Hello all,

Now, I am going to share my hard and cool experience in the SEO industry.

I was joined as an SEO analyst in a million-dollar company, that was 3-4 years back (2016 - 17 something). Now I am resigned from the company.

I had experienced a sad & self-prove activity in the company. Yes, completely about SEO.

When I was joined, I felt very proud to work there. After the months gone, the sad time came.

The manager of my department gave one very newly launched project which is complete of the B2B Software product. He gave a timeline of 1 - 2 months and said you must bring 1000+ visitors to the website. You can do anything for bring traffic. I can spend, but not in PPC. It should be completely Organic. This is your testing project.

I said okay. And I thought we must prove myself to stay here for a long time. I started working hardly by doing keyword research, adding landing pages for promoting the page, and started building backlinks from various sites. At the time, Web 2.0 is most popular and also did guest blogging and everything google prefers.

The time move on, but i can't able to brought it up the 500 visitors per month. Again the manager came and ask for the report. And I openly said to the manager, I failed on this one.

But my manager appreciates my effort and work. Now, my manager again gave me 2 months of time for this one.

Now, I really upset about the result. I decided to do more research for generating traffic, then discuss it with my friends & manager for this project.

Then I decided to add more work on keyword research, yes, finally got the ideas.

I really did idiotic mistakes, I have just added the single page for generating traffic.

Now, I got more keywords through keyword groupings in Google keyword planner, I have added more resource pages, which means article pages, not about promoting our services. Started thinking to add more pages like what is it,

Did more On-page works,

1. Adding H1 as title
2. generic meta description
3. Added schema codes
4. Author bio
5. sources
6. Table of contents
7. more

Then started adding backlinks. on high-quality sites for long-tail keywords, generic keywords, & targeted keywords Then, finally, simply the traffic started building.

After the months, I checked in SEMrush, the keywords are improving a lot. Similarly, the traffic is improving 65% than last month.

I achieved my goal. And my manager really appreciated me and act as one of the key players in the team from that point.

Really, a big challenge for me, and good teamwork will get you to achieve anything.

have you used social media to drive traffic?

Let me tell you there is no short cut to SEO. If you want to increase traffic from free sources then be patient and use SEO tricks else go for PPC and get traffic by spending money.

For SEO you can follow these simple steps:

Firstly I would say the content of your website should be high quality and not plagiarized. After the content comes the on-page optimization. The on-page optimization of your website should be good. As you know if the on-page optimization is not good then the off-page optimization will also not work.

Moreover, after Google's recent update link building activities are not much effective but still one can do it but not for the sake of getting backlinks and some referral traffic. So, here's some ways to generate quality backlinks which are still effective in the SEO world:

- Submit Business Listings (for locally promotion)
- Submit on Classified sites (if offering products)
- Take part in Forums & Questions/Answers(try to give some genuine solutions)
- Blog Commenting (for branding)
- Guest Posting (for exposure and branding)
- Social Bookmarking
- Social Media Sharing
- Infographics
- Directory (only if have high PR n relevant to your niche)
- Leverage Video sharing sites like YouTube
- PDF sharing
- You can make a new blog and posts the industry updates there.

Just start doing this, surely you be start getting results. But do it with smartness..

one question, let say you bookmark always on the same book mark sites does it add more backlinks?

For more traffic, you will do SEO and social media posting on a regular basis

Backlinks will be counted. But, they referring domains will be a single one. Referring domains are one of the ranking signals.

Not like that. You can use the different domains for increasing the referring domains for your website.

Nice work mate, also guest post on high traffic can drive quality traffic and optimized content for keyword intent, and keeping the site active will help to improve organic traffic.

hi all, i dunno - i'm research k*gworks.com (use an e instead of *) only because of a potential client and i'm seeing their traffic at 239k for Aug 2020 (semrush domain overview). 90% of it is unbranded traffic. But then e.g. americank*g.com at 600/aug (might be a poor choice of competitor though). On top of that - 30k of visitors went to an article: beer keg size guide ???
I can't believe that they don't use something here. what do you think? is this legit traffic? If there is a secret - I don't even know if the secrets would even be shared here? How would you get over 240k traffic to a keg site?

Yes, the technique you used is very good because we are already using it for our own Company "Seodiscovery" and same for our clients and it's working fine.

Asking to drive that much traffic to a new website via SEO in 1-2 months is unreasonable expectations (not including other means such as social media traffic, etc..). I hate that the SEO industry is full of people who don't understand even the most fundamental aspects of SEO. I occasionally get calls from clients who want to rank their mid-high level keywords in 1-2 months and I have to educate them how SEO works. I always tell them they have to give SEO at least a year to really start seeing an ROI. If they balk at that, I know they aren't the right client for me.

Also, Bookmarking, Web 2.0, PDF sharing website are useless low-level backlinking methods. Don't waste your time. This isn't 2014.
