My email was spoof-ed and was used to send out spam? What can I do about this? I noticed this because I get bounce back email everyday in my inbox everyday! (subject: Mail delivery failed). Its just a hotmail address so it doesnt matter much, but its damn annoying.

Had that happen to me as well a little while back via hotmail, its a global issue with the hotmail services, try changing your password as suggested this seemed to rectify the issue for me.

Last year my e-mail was compromised, but I'm not sure if its the same thing OP is going through. What happened was a database of a website that I registered on was hacked, then e-mails and password combos were released for everyone to see. Unfortunately for me I used the same password for my e-mail and some Russian dude (or dudette?) ran an automated program to send spam to all of my contacts.

Changed password and it was fixed.

I dont think they have access to my email and I dont think it was comprised. But it's probably 'spoofed' using random smtp services

Yea I have the same problem on a Google business account. I don't use the account for my business but I had set it up a couple of years back. For at least two years now I periodically get the mail delivery failure returned to me and I don't know what to do about it.

If you find a good solution please let me know.

I know what you mean. To my knowledge, it will be really hard to find a solution. The best way is to report the bounce back mails as SPAM.. At least it won't hit your inbox the next time.

I had the same issue and my settings were wrong because I was sloppy. If you are hosting your email server check your settings regarding SPF and such. If you don't know what to do contact your hosting company's support team.
