    Hi guys,
As the title stats I'm going to document the journey of my Dropshipping business.

Please note: I have only lurked here before, this is my first real attempt at online entrepreneurship.

I have spent the last 3 days researching products etc, demand, trends and I think I finally have stumbled across a winning niche.

Little bit of backstory: I'm a 19 year old marketing student from Ireland. The syllabus in my course is so dates and obsolete it kills me going to class everyday. The future is about technology and that's where I'm looking - Internet marketing.

I have a basic grasp of things from a social media marketing point of view (researched it like a mother fucker) so it's time to put it to the test now.

I work in a retail store with a manager I detest with my entire being. From head to toe. My goal before I quit is to make 1k a month, basically 4 products a day @€10 profit.

Personally I think it sounds very doable (chances are I am highly mistaken) but I have to learn.

    DAY 1:

Today I am in work from 11-8 so I'm tired and cranky and ready to get this shit started now. I refuse to work here for the summer.

    Tonight after work I will:
    - buy my domain
    - start developing my site and getting the initial batch of products on (5 or so).
    - set up social media accounts (Twitter, Fb page and Instagram)
    - start researching potential audience settings to try get the most out of my advertisements.

I know this is a long shot, but I believe I can give it a good go - I have to for my mental health. 3 sales a day is my all time goal, i will reevaluate once (and if) I reach that.

    Until then that's my focus.

It's all a learning experience. I have read enough on here to give this a good go.

If any one has any advice / tips for me as I'm starting out in my journey please let me know.

    - Danny

good luck buddy, if you know absolutely nothing about webdesign and development i hear shopify is the best idea for dropshipping. Also how are you sourcing your products, where are you finding your suppliers, its usually hard to find one without at least a company name or some credentials.

You sound very motivated to do this and actually have a job from which you can finance it. Not just another kid looking for quick cash. Good luck I will be following.

Thanks a million man, I'll sure need I'd say!

Yeah shopify is probably the most appealing and useful tool for anyone starting out.
I have a bit of experience with web design and development so I'll probably be sticking with WordPress and woocommerce for the time being anyway, keep costs low = more money for advertising = more sales (hopefully).

At the moment it seems to be alibaba. I'm in contact with quote a charming man from 20 miles outside Beijing.
He will provide the goods on a sale amount (1 unit at a time) and include all packaging as well ell. So I'll test out with him for the beginning anyway, already researching a few more incase he goes tits up.

    Haha thanks man!

Yeah that's it I know it won't be easy haha, wish it was a bit! ;)

I have a good attitude to learning and working though and once I see any results (conversion rates, ads working well and hopefully eventually my first sale) I know it'll continue pushing me forward.

No such thing as easy cash these days is there! I'm currently working like a dog in the equivalent of a basement in one of the main department stores in my country for not even the amount I'm hoping to achieve through this experiment.

If that's not motivation I don't know what is!

Thanks for the kind words man.

Damn I hope I can anyway! Not looking for a million bucks from this or anything, just a few bucks to give me some platform to invest into more streams eventually.

Yes I have indeed. The man I am in contact with happens to have listings on alieexpress aswell - he seems to be the ideal supplier.

But if it seems too good to be true it usually is ;)

Haha saw that thread myself actually a few minutes ago - just currently on the way home from work to get stuck into this.

I can't help but feel sorry for him to be honest.

I'm not here to advertise or look for spoon feeding on what to do, there's no fun in that.

I started this thread so I can come and post on a daily basis my results and what I am doing. If anything if hoping this will encourage me to do more as I know I will have to share it.

Haha same man! So much good info on here surprising not everyone is doing it!

Your already winning so ;) yeah man it's insane isn't it? How you can leverage one to another, how to increase exposure and learning how to do them all in conjunction with each other.

    Some real geniuses on here.

Haha your in the right direction ;)

Thats it, it doesnt happen overnight. Im currently battling away with nameservers and the works here!

It'll all be worth it some day!

    Day 1, Update#1:
    1. Domain is bought, waiting for nameservers to transfer over. Taking so long.
    2. I have decided to go the WP + WOO route, for extra customization and less costs. I dont mind learning a bit to save money. *SEE POINT 2*. However all photos, text etc ready to be put up onto site whenever these dastardly nameservers decide to shift.
    3. SMA have been set up. Currently talking to a designer in order to get a logo and stuff set so they all look professional.
    4. Have been looking into this and have 2 different audiences saved, for the same product. Its amazing but once I started doing a bit of digging I realized this niche is bigger than I thought originally.

Current costs to date (DAY 1):
    - Domain: €1.13 - Godaddy and I had a promo code, simple google search. CODE: cjcgnc99
    - Logo €5 - some dude on reddit

Thats all for tonight I think. Going to start on the social media front tonight and tomorrow during work. Hopefully can get most of the site done and up by tomorrow before I leave for work so not leaving potential customers looking for where to leave their money ;)

GOALS FOR BEFORE THE END OF WEEK:
    - 1 sale
    - Start growing social media following and interactions
    - prepare ads to be ready for activation on Monday

    - Danny

EDIT: Nameservers have successfully moved over. 22:59. In work at 10:00.
    Let the games begin.

    Day 1, Update #2:
Time check - 01:25. Time to call this a night.

Sadly didn't get site finished, was hoping to get a bit more progress done.
Currently I have my first set of products up need to finish designing other pages tomorrow (about us, contact, home page etc)

Tomorrow will be first day with instagram.
Have messed around with growing an instagram account before, managed about 700 legit organic fans in the space of a month.

This won't be an automated process at first. I'll warm up myself and depending on how sales etc are going I will invest in MP or the likes to attempt to automate my advertising and traffic driving.

Also, need to find out what sort of CPC, CPA and CS will be. I presume will be in around the usual €.35 cent but hopefully will be able to drive it down lower if I get a good convertable advertisment with CTA. All in due course.

So much to learn and experiment and not enough time in a day.
    Focus for now and is:
    - finish site (add products daily)
    - grown social media
    - make single sale (breakeven to date)

    Over and out.

    - Danny
